[t]http://i.imgur.com/JH65NB3.png[/t] This will always be relevant.
You do realise that cyber bullying is a thing tho, right?
Some people just can't handle social media.
I just think it's bizarre how many trolls have cropped up on both sides of this movie. Like, why is this film worth getting so worked up over compared to any other sub-par cashgrab.
I just think it's bizarre how many trolls have cropped up on both sides of this movie. Like, why is this film worth getting so worked up over compared to any other sub-par cashgrab.
1. SJW bullshit to sell a movie 2. It's fucking ghostbusters
You do realise that cyber bullying is a thing tho, right?
Do you not understand what he meant? If someone were "cyberbullying me" here on FP, I can easily move on with my life by not accessing the site, period. It doesn't have any real-life ramifications, and my internet browsing experience would be greatly improved by it. So I agree that it's "fake" in a way that it's just a bunch of words designed to elicit a response. If you don't respond, or even better, remove yourself from the equation, any and all attempts of "cyberbullying" become useless. Just my $0,02.

Like regular bullying but on computers instead of in toilet stalls. And before some of you decide to lose your shit, by "real" i mean like, most known cases where it actually became a problem. Like when teens attempt suicide and shit.
"Real" cyber bullying is just harassment period. Getting called a fag on a YouTube comment isn't applicable like getting doxxed and hunted is, typically can happen on anything

Like someone you know from school "real life cyberbullying" you.
Funny she's complaining about stronger guidelines on hate speech now that she's on the wrong end of it, but earlier when she was catching no flak from doing the same exact thing it was all cool? Wow, what do you know
what was she doing? I can't think of much that would possibly justify the shit in the OP...
"Real" cyber bullying is just harassment period. Getting called a fag on a YouTube comment isn't applicable like getting doxxed and hunted is, typically can happen on anything
^ This, what he said. Didn't see this response.
yeah if you act like this you have zero ground to stand on when you say 'wah i'm being persecuted, woe is me'

You're speaking like just dropping everything and leaving is easy and acceptable in every situation. It's not. It's fucked up. You shouldn't be forced away from something you enjoy because you're being harassed. Just up and leaving means the harasser wins, and they'll just go on to do it to someone else. Or worse - in more extreme cases that do happen - they'll take the online harassment offline because you tried to get away from them or they're not satisfied with just bullying you off of a website.
ie threatening litigation against the original cast if they didnt cameo
How did they manage to get away with that?
I find it interesting how they chose to harass the black one out of the other three.
She was the most vulnerable and the loudest opposition.
Okay, but what if it's a site that you are heavily invested in, or really enjoy visiting? And as for the harrasser/troll/whatever, you can let him have his little internet victory, you'd be just moving on with your life. Trolls should be treated like NPCs in an RPG; they think they can affect the course of "the game", they think their opinions matter and that they're making a difference (even if it's "for the lulz"), but in the grand scheme of things, they don't matter. They don't exist, specially because 99.9% of the times they'll never come knocking on your door and call you a faggot. They'll never say anything in your face, even if they had the chance to do it. Maybe it's because I've been long enough in the internet to understand this, to get a thicker skin, and when I see people losing their shit over a handful of mean tweets, it's like "dude... just close Twitter and go outside". It'll *shock* you how much their mean tweets don't matter.

This situation seems so absurd to me, normally people who engage in this type of trolling are just ignored by everyone but I'm seeing a celebrity have a breakdown about this. She really does not understand these people want to have their anonymous accounts "exposed" by retweets, they want their shitposts to be spotlighted to the whole world. She gave them the reaction they desired thinking she was fighting back. It's not healthy to be emotionally hurt by anonymous nobodies.
Because "real life cyberbullying" is simply harassment/stalking, and it has severe consequences. Like someone you know from school "real life cyberbullying" you.
Cyberbullying can be a form of harassment/stalking. I don't see how that is contradicting.
Do you not understand what he meant? If someone were "cyberbullying me" here on FP, I can easily move on with my life by not accessing the site, period.
Then again most of the time this doesn't happen on Facepunch, but rather on sites like Facebook. I don't know where this mentality of "You have to take every shit that people give to you" is coming from. There are legal boundaries online and if someone heavily goes out of their way to make someone else's life miserable using online interaction to the point where they are even considering suicide then yes, there should be legal consequences. Cyberbullying is more than "someone sent me a mean tweet".
yeah if you act like this you have zero ground to stand on when you say 'wah i'm being persecuted, woe is me'
and she wonders why she was getting trolled lmao
yeah if you act like this you have zero ground to stand on when you say 'wah i'm being persecuted, woe is me'
Yep, no pity. If you're going to throw sexist slurs and rude behavior, I'll have nothing but a slight sense of satisfaction from seeing it splash back in your face. She deserves every last bit of what she's getting. Fantastic karma.
For one, people are trying to show others that the criticism for this movie is not because of the girls, racism or whatever. But there is always people who are gonna smear that image by being le absurd and hilarious
yeah if you act like this you have zero ground to stand on when you say 'wah i'm being persecuted, woe is me'
Is this another Photoshop or is this genuinely legitimate?
Is this another Photoshop or is this genuinely legitimate?
http://archive.is/aUL6D It's on the archive. It's legitimate.
Is this another Photoshop or is this genuinely legitimate?
It's from the archive.is of her feed I linked so yes it's real [editline]19th July 2016[/editline]
What the hell did the tweet she was responding to say?
Does it really matter when she's trying to paint herself as a feminist role model and hero with this movie? But the mentions suggest it was probably someone defending Nero

You shouldn't. If someone went out of his way to harass me on my Fb/twitter/etc, first I'd be flattered to even provoke that kind of attention in someone, secondly, I'd tell him to fuck off, along with report+block. No one is persistent, so after a while, he'll get the message and get bored/move on to someone else, while I'm out there enjoying life, hanging out with friends or doing whatever. Contrary to what most people believe, internet should not be taken as "serious business". The other thing you mention eventually may come down to semantics, but for me, it's just harassment, regardless of the medium used. When someone does it over the internet, it's now "cyber" harassment.

Even if they started it and she said that because she was having a meltdown or w/e it wouldn't be any better. She could've just ignored it or left twitter at the beginning instead of slinging shit back at the people slinging shit at her.

When it comes to internet she, she's between the stages of "Regular Human Being" and "Celebrity Who Just Doesn't Give A Shit"
