There is no price on a life, but by keeping a murderer or rapist in jail, then that's more innocent lives saved. It's 12:16 here so in going to sleep, but I'll source that reoffend thing later today. Psychologists aren't free, so they can't get to everyone, and the people that should get funded deaths are fucked in the head. I'm not sure we are talking about the same level of criminal.
when i say rehabilitate i mean keep them away from society until they are deemed sufficiently rehabilitated to reenter it OBVIOUSLY. [editline]03:21AM[/editline]
The justice system should work to rehabilitate criminals and make sure they won't repeat their crimes, not punish them or, even worse, as a vengeance.
THIS GUY gets it
If there was anyway to go I would shoose beheading as its quick 'n' clean.
No it's not. Well for most people it's everything but quick 'n' clean. Those god damn talibans and their rusty butterknives. I can't see how you would ever choose beheading over the injection. You just fall asleep like you were in a surgery. Atleast that's how it sounds.
hey hey guess what the death penalty is going to be here for a long, long time. and you bitching about it isn't going to change a single damn thing. might as well just cope with it.
hey hey guess what "cope with it" isn't a reason to keep something retarded
hey hey guess what "cope with it" isn't a reason to keep something retarded
he's the same guy who basically said "welp sucks to be you" if an innocent person ends up getting executed. and who wanted to limit free speech.
I'm pretty sure some lethal injections (on accident) simply paralyze the subject, and they feel all the pain, but can't scream.
They do on occasion. The reason being is that a lethal injection is not a single drug, but 3. The parts that handle paralysis and death work as they should, but the painkiller drug has a chance of wearing off too soon (or just not working at all.) This results in the recipient of the injection dying a slow, painful death, which they have no way of expressing, so nobody will know until its too late. I'm middle ground when it comes to Capital Punishment. In theory it seems simple and straightforward. But in reality it almost never is.
I think I would rather have the firing squad or the electric chair. The chair is usually a pretty quick way to go when its done properly
Some people survived the electric chair.
i'm against capital punishment because it's basically the government saying they have the right to kill civilians that aren't a present threat or did i miss the part in the bill of rights that said no rapists
i'm against capital punishment because it's basically the government saying they have the right to kill civilians that aren't a present threat or did i miss the part in the bill of rights that said no rapists
Don't do the crime if you can't do the...be dead
The justice system should work to rehabilitate criminals and make sure they won't repeat their crimes, not punish them or, even worse, as a vengeance.
Nah, I don't see that happening. The way I see it, and probably how the majority sees it, is like this: Once a criminal, always a criminal. If you're a child molester and go through some rehabilitation program and get a paper where it states "Not a child molester anymore!" what does that mean to anyone? Nothing. Absolutely NOTHING. Even though you might be cured from your sick habits, it doesn't change the fact that you have lost your face and your reputation and will never ever get it back. If you try to apply to a job or get an apartment and it comes up that you've been molesting children in your past, what do you think they'll do? Give you a warm welcome to your new home or job? No, they dispise you and are sickened by you and on top of all that, you don't get a job nor do you get an apartment. Convicted criminals are no good in this society, because people can't tolerate criminals who have been "cured", because they don't believe in that stuff. I rest my case.
Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't heroin a differently arranged form of morphine (chemically)
Sorry if I'm late, but yes. Morphine, heroin, etc. are all derivatives of the Opium Poppy. It all starts with Opium Latex, which is the white substance that drips out in tear form when you cut into an Opium Poppy.
shit i forgot about this thread

Sometimes the person doesn't die from the first 3 drugs, and has to be injected again. Another fun fact: Every single vein in your body feels like it's on fire if the painkiller wears off too soon.
