I don't know too much about Canadian politics, but in this sort of thing I'd probably side with NDP or Liberals.
Liberals have already created political ads. I won't call them attack ads because they don't exactly attack anyone personally. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PSmJaPICle8
Yeah, I saw a few of those on TV recently. Good to see that Iggy's showing a little fight.
About time we lost him. Liberal minority, calling this shit right now broez.
Not even close.
Not even close.
How do you figure?
Pretty much the view of most everyone on this site
Majority? Hah! All three major parties are almost evenly split across the country with the smaller other parties sprinkled in places. I doubt we'll see a majority for any of them.
BTW, latest opinion polls from EKOS: 35.3 Conservative 28.1 Liberal 14.2 NDP 9.7 Bloc 10.6 Green http://www.ekospolitics.com/wp-content/uploads/full_report_march_25_2011.pdf Interesting numbers, and a far cry from the 43% Conservative support that Ipsos gave us. Also interesting that according to those numbers, 20% of the electorate has the NDP as their "second choice"
Majority? Hah! All three major parties are almost evenly split across the country with the smaller other parties sprinkled in places. I doubt we'll see a majority for any of them.
Nah, the Bloc splits the vote in Quebec.
Harper tried to do it back in 2005. He wanted to ban gay marriage and support them only through civil unions. Even if he did the "least intrusive" thing and gave the definition of marriage back to the provinces, this would mean it would be illegal in Alberta at the very least, likely all of the prairie provinces and territories.
Well that's bullshit [editline]25th March 2011[/editline]
emptyquote
Don't be silly no one cares about Canadian politics other than Canadians.
I foresee a Conservative minority (but one near majority) with a Bloc opposition. The Liberals and NDP will both have a fairly low number of seats, but be about even in numbers of them, with NDP having a slight bit more. Also, I predict Green gets at least 1 seat in parliament this time. We'll basically have the same shit we do now, and nothing will get done.
Don't be silly no one cares about Canadian politics other than Canadians.
I mean liberals in general.
Huh, I think this is happening right after my 18th birthday. How convenient.
Pirate Party better fucking win.
Well that's bullshit [editline]25th March 2011[/editline] Don't be silly no one cares about Canadian politics other than Canadians.
It's not that I don't care, I just don't know that much about it.
iggys my nigga man i got his back
Pirate Party better fucking win.
They're running 5 candidates this election.
Pirate Party better fucking win.
You don't know how a parliament works They can't win, it is physically impossible for them to form the government [editline]25th March 2011[/editline]
I foresee a Conservative minority (but one near majority) with a Bloc opposition. I really really hope the conservatives won't get a majority.
I really really hope the conservatives won't get a majority.
They won't, no polls predict it and the conservatives will be very unlikely to gain any support during the upcoming campaign. [editline]25th March 2011[/editline] That EKOS poll posted earlier would be a great parliamentary layout
You don't know how a parliament works They can't win, it is physically impossible for them to form the government
Maybe he was joking?
Maybe he was joking?
If he was I apologize
Voting conservative. Hopefully they stay in power.
Voting conservative. Hopefully they stay in power.
Because we need to be more like america, a country doing worse than us...
I find it disturbing that the threat to Canada is in becoming more like the USA... man, shit is real fucked up for us Americans...
Because we need to be more like america, a country doing worse than us...
To be honest my political views are pretty shallow. All that interests me a lot is self defense laws and firearm laws. But really, security of person is a very basic right and an important one I suppose it isn't that shallow just narrow. And liberals and NDP and fuckcois sure aren't on my side on those issues. In my ideal world Canada would have a 2nd amendment.

I can't even express my feelings over that Though, I do wish the liberal party took a better stand on guns.

And it has a good effect on the rest of the country that's why I care about it.
Vote to get gun control? I think you mean vote to have less gun control. Fuck no.
On a related topic: am I prejudice cause I fucking hate Quebec? I just can't help it. Everything they do, the way they act, the things they say, make me boil with rage. French lose war over land with England. French squat on the land and refuse to leave. They become inbred throughout the centuries. Out pops Quebec.
