Also, it's not as if anyone will ever get the data:
Considering I use NoScript, Adblock Plus and Ghostery there's a pretty small chance of them getting anything out of my site visits. Only my mail and Youtube are vulnerable.
Woah, this is kinda scary. Though I can't say it isn't really surprising. I have AdBlock running 24/7, though, so I've never seen any of these tailored ads.

Category Arts & Entertainment Computers & Electronics - Software - Business & Productivity Software Games - Computer & Video Games - Adventure Games Games - Computer & Video Games - Shooter Games Games - Online Games Games - Online Games - Massive Multiplayer News - Gossip & Tabloid News - Scandals & Investigations Online Communities - File Sharing & Hosting Online Communities - Photo & Video Sharing Online Communities - Social Networks People & Society - Women's Interests Reference - General Reference - Time & Calendars Reference - Geographic Reference - Maps Reference - Humanities - Philosophy Shopping - Apparel - Children's Clothing Shopping - Apparel - Clothing Accessories - Handbags & Purses Shopping - Apparel - Costumes Shopping - Apparel - Undergarments Shopping - Gifts & Special Event Items - Flowers World Localities - Latin America - Central America - Honduras World Localities - Oceania - New Zealand - Christchurch
what no google where are you getting this info from fuck you google
Google is not actually selling your info. They accept an ad and then show that ad based on the info google has collected. The advertiser doesn't get to see your infos.
And then they give me an 8 GB mailadress where I yet have to receive a single spam mail. various clouded office applications, a free, OPEN SOURCE OS for my mobile and best of all: A map service I wouldn't want to live without.
So they're just picking up data from all their websites(Which they've already been doing for years now) and putting it together so they can display more relevant ads? I thought they already did this? It seems like common sense.

I FUCKING KNEW IT
To be honest, I don't really care if anyone knew my interests. It's not like any of that information can be used against me.
anything that gives advertisers more information—and therefore more power—is morally indefensible to me
Scary, but I don't think Google will abuse the information any time soon.
Hey, It's reddit bot again!
Have fun Google. I won't see a single one of the ads, and I wouldn't have it any other way. On a related note, they don't know shit about me either. Your categories and demographics No interest or demographic categories are associated with your ads preferences so far. You can add or edit interests and demographics at any time. So not only will I not see the ads, they never load at all thanks to Ad Block Plus, but they also don't know anything about me! God I love being in control of my computer.
they sell your information to everyone and anyone, so i doubt theres much trust to be had
You're full of shit. First of all, it's against they're privacy policies to even share your personal information, let alone sell it. Only in a very limited number of situations will they share your personal information (like legal actions). Secondly, their entire business is built around ad revenue based on targeted ads, if they sold all the data they farmed then they would be destroying their business model by allowing competitors the same access to data they have.
