down with mitt the ripper down with obongo the moozlime the true hero that america needs is.... rick santorum, a god amongst men
Seriously though, the current offerings suck. You know who we really need? Franklin Delano Roosevelt.
If you actually heard what he says in the interview about Russia though it makes sense kind of in the way he means it, Russia tends to be antagonistic to the west on the Security Council and stuff like that.
I don't think 'stupid' should be a term used to describe people with differing ideology in the first place.
But some ideologies are stupid

[editline]30th July 2012[/editline]
Seriously though, the current offerings suck. You know who we really need?
I don't think 'stupid' should be a term used to describe people with differing ideology in the first place.
Everyone has the right to opinion. But it doesn't mean those people have smart opinions. We can be sentimental and pretend everyone on earth thinks through their opinions and everyone has reasonable rationalizations for the ideas they champion or defend, but lets be honest here. Not everyone does. Not even enough people do.
And then my iPod switched song to Sting's 'Russians' I think Mitty should find a time machine and go back to the days where Russia was antagonized by the US, so he can enjoy this thing he has for cold wars. We'll also get rid of him as an added bonus.

I for one welcome the Russian overlords
Romney is doing to his own campaign what Palin did to McCain's. Plague it with lunacy.
But some ideologies are stupid
Not to the people that hold them. Liberalism is stupid to a conservative, conservatism is stupid to a liberal. When you go down to just calling another viewpoint stupid, it often makes you look just as intellectually devoid in the eyes of onlookers. These guys are well educated, incredibly intelligent people, and you are calling their ideologies stupid? I'm not saying that I defend these ideologies, but to accuse the person of being outright ignorant when they obviously aren't is ludicrous.
I don't think 'stupid' should be a term used to describe people with differing ideology in the first place.
Implying trying to start another cold war isn't stupid.
Mitt Ronmey 2012 gettin rid of them durn commies

Just being something, doesn't mean you're good at it or smart from it.
Don't trust a Mormon trying to run for president. I used to be one. He's clearly nuts.

So unless you want to say that highly educated people have a higher than average tendency for stupidity, your point is absolutely invalid. [editline]31st July 2012[/editline] Or maybe stupid people are the only ones capable of raising money and convincing voters that their policies are correct.

[editline]31st July 2012[/editline] Or maybe stupid people are the only ones capable of raising money and convincing voters that their policies are correct.
First you go from saying being a physician in and of itself, or even a lawyer, or business man, makes you a smart person who has fully rationalized every view point outside of that field simply because they have gone through that field. Now you say that being good at a field outside of that field, like raising money(schmoozing, socializing with the right pockets, and other activities of that type) and the use of news spin, existing bias, and other methods of "doublespeak" to seem right, has any relevance to them having just gone through that? I know a fair amount of lawyers, I've been around them since I was a little kid and from first hand experience, not all lawyers are equal, and not all lawyers are smart. I imagine the same thing goes for any other field. You know, cause people are different and being good at one thing(good enough to get through school in it) means they're good at most things they attempt. right?
returning to brinkmanship and fearmongering is fun though golly gee i can't wait to hide under my desk and prepare for the apocalypse thanks mitt!!! So are politicians inherently stupid, or is half of the United States simply stupid, or what? [editline]31st July 2012[/editline] And you also forget that conservatism vs liberalism isn't largely a competition of factual statements, but a competition of moral statements.
at this point, I think he's narrowed his demographic to about 10 people, just as crazy and old as him
I'm sure by cold-war spirit he means using patriotism as a smokescreen to do awful things in countries who would rather not have awful things done within them
So are politicians inherently stupid, or is half of the United States simply stupid, or what?
More; the amount of religious people is much higher than that.
Is this guy TRYING to not be voted for?
Seriously though, the current offerings suck. You know who we really need? Franklin Delano Roosevelt.
Nah, too weak. The country probably needs T. Roosevelt. But we definitely don't want Romney or "Dr." Bachmann. Too bad she didn't win the Republican nomination, if she won, then the Democrats don't have to work to make sure she loses. Seems like the more shit we hear from the Republicans, the more that it seems like the Republicans will lose. But, again, there are stupid people and people who think the Republicans are the better choice.

I think that the Cold War is still going on, albeit with China. But Romney is not the fucktard I want leading us into such conflict. Romney is a ass who would never be as great as JFK or Reagan. Who the fuck wants the Cold War spirit with crusty ass Russia? I want the tranquil 1950s optimistic future golden age height of our superpower status spirit.
