lmao
literally using fairy tale bullshit at this point
like they're trying to be mocked
People are still saying that it is a myth? It's already been proven. What jackasses. there's nothing to argue about
I facepalmed so hard, my glasses fell off.
Thats another reason thanking my teachers for being awesome.
BRB, searching after my glasses :zoid:
why can't these insane Christians just accept the facts around evolution?
I know a lot of Christians who believe in it, hell, my Biology teacher who was a deep Southern Baptist taught evolution and explained it all and was a firm believer in it. It's ridiculous.
Wow my anatomy teacher was a Baptist who believed in evolution and taught it as well.
It amazes me that uneducated people are allowed to be in charge of education.
"Pupils attending privately-run Christian schools in the southern state of Louisiana will learn from textbooks next year, which claim Scotland’s most famous mythological beast is a living creature."
Oh thank Jebus, I thought the schools were public. Fucking gave me a heart attack.
Yes, however Louisiana has recently spearheaded a voucher program, which is why this news came up in the first place. The article opens up with this too (I read something similar to this in the Guardian too). The possibility is that some of these schools could be beneficiaries of voucher money which is by extension state funds. Again for those of you unfamiliar with the voucher iniative that has been pushed by some on the right, it involves the government allowing each family a set amount of "money" that they would otherwise spend on their student in public school and allowing them to take that to register elsewhere.
Louisiana is the first in the United States to push through with this program, and there's a lot of criticism over it. One of the angles has been highlighting the private schools that use this ACE curriculum will essentially now recieve state money from students who have been transferred into them by their parents.
I think it is very funny that libertarians advocate for a school voucher system while the vast majority of private schools are religious and that there is demand for private schools mainly because of that.
This reminds me of that meme:
If God isn't real, then how come does the Loch Ness Monster exist?
Take that, atheists.
God: 1
Atheists: 0
This is just a few christian schools in Louisiana guys, not the entire US schools. Title should explain that.

"A few christian schools" is still too many

They're not state owned, they're privately owned. They have just as much freedom to teach whatever shit they want. Us people who know better will simply not put our kids through those schools.

Freedom of speech just has this terrible dark side to it. I wish we could stop people from abusing it like this without actually ruining the "freedom" part
