• Chrome is now 30% of the web browser market share, set to surpass IE in early Q2

I just recently switched over to chrome too.
I hated Chrome for a short period, like Chrome, why you crash so much?! Then realised it was my Nvidia driver crashing when closing a tab on Youtube..
I love Chrome mainly for its really simple, streamlined interface and I don't like Firefox mainly for how clunky its interface is. After using chrome a lot, when I switch to Firefox for even a moment, my eye is constantly drawn towards all of the crap at the top. It's distracting. I don't really give much of a shit about speed, though. It doesn't affect me much. I used Opera for a while and loved it took up loads of my memory. Though, I did love its interface. I also love being able to Google search using the address bar. That saves me loads of time.
I like firefox still.
Opera users whoop whoop :v:
Why are we having arguments about this stuff, all modern browsers are fine, it's people who use outdated browsers that are the problem
So long as people aren't using IE6 anymore, I'm fine with this. Personally, I can't live without Firefox's security plugins. I don't really like the Chrome alternatives to NoScript, but the Chrome alternative to ABP has really gotten better than it used to be.

You can also edit the interface to look the way you want. Mine isn't too pretty, but it's very efficient with tiny tabs etc. [t]http://i.imgur.com/M1hiW.png[/t]

Hah The chrome logo is a pie chart of current browser usage!
Chrome can do half of that without addons.
I've been trying that half for a few months and I simply don't like the way it's implemented. It's only a personal opinion of mine. Chrome is still a great browser that I would recommend to anyone, it's just not for me.
I feel like Opera is getting singled out here...
Aren't all "big browsers" more or less the same by now? Someone comes up with a nifty new feature, the others copy it or it becomes a popular and easy-to-download add-on. At that point it only really matters which browser has all your personal configurations IMO.
The one thing I absolutely hate about Chrome is it's history. Firefox's history actually works. Chrome has a hard time searching for even the simplest of things, and it's ass to navigate. As soon as a better extension for chrome history comes out, I'll switch. Using chrome only on my netbook and firefox on my desktop.
Thatsthejoke.jpg Anyway, I like chrome I've been using it for a lot of time, mostly because firefox had compatibility issues with Win7 64bit, while Chrome is as smooth as it can get.
He could be on Chromium, the FOSS project that Chrome is based off-of. Unlikely though, Chromium is a pain on Windows.

[editline]31st January 2012[/editline] http://www.tomsguide.com/us/chrome-browsers-firefox-ie-download,news-14032.html
I'm going to take issue with the source the article relies on for data, if only because I've seen wildly different stats published regarding global browser usage. Mainly the article relies on info from statcounter.com. I can't refute that data, so I'll simply provide another source of similar data. netmarketshare.com shows global browser usage as being wildly different from what is reported by statcounter. Now I don't know which paints a more accurate picture of global browser usage, so I'm only going to relay some stats provided by netmarketshare as compiled by Ars Technica. http://arstechnica.com/business/news/2012/02/2001-all-over-again-internet-explorer-6-share-grows-and-chrome-falls.ars Referencing this article, which compiles the monthly reports sent out by netmarketshare, it looks like Chrome only has 18.94% of the browser market globally and Firefox has 20.88%. Again, I do not know which site is more accurate in its representation of global browser usage, I am simply presenting an alternative.

Firefox's history is absolutely useless since nobody remembers the title of the page, only the content they were looking at
I have no problems using either.

In other news, firefox is exactly the same as it was 6 versions ago. Only gripe I really have with it is the image scaling, everything else about the browser is near perfect.

I'm comfortable with Opera.
Also, Won't the IE10 usage jump when windows 8 comes out?
Also, Won't the IE10 usage jump when windows 8 comes out?
Nobody knows if WIndows 8 will do well yeah it's Windows, but it's also completely different from previous versions of Windows
Lately Chrome has been using 50-100% more memory than Firefox ever has, and isn't as fast as I remember it being. If Mozilla can pull off something amazing for the next FF release I'll be switching back
Add to that that massive crash bug when exiting youtube that's been plaguing a lot of users.
Nobody knows if WIndows 8 will do well yeah it's Windows, but it's also completely different from previous versions of Windows
Unless you change one registry key. Then is becomes identical to Win 7, except with a crappier theme and a faster boot time.
The only reason why I still use Firefox is because I'm extremely dependent on my history for browsing. It has many problems, I won't deny that.
That was my main problem when switching from Firefox to Opera, since Opera only saves a limited number of pages, but I've adapted. Also, the other reason I'm not using Chrome is because that is the browser that started the whole "tabs on top of window" thing and I don't like it at all. I converted the opera layout to look like Firefox 3, which is still my favourite browser.
