• Christian group castigates Obama for urging tolerance toward gays

I remember when I was in what used to be my churches youth program. We watched some video on why being gay wasn't good, really biased video so I just didn't pay attention. The priest asked us what we thought about it, most of the kids looked like they didn't care or thought it was a dumb video. When he asked me I said this, I think"Well honestly, it was a really dumb and biased video, and that Jesus told us to love and accept everyone, so this video goes completely against what he wants, I'm not following what this said at all." He said he was going to call my parents and have them come in with me to get talked to about this by a nun and a priest. I told you to go fiddle with a little boy, and walked out. Never been back since. Some people are huge assholes about this, but from the way most of those kids talked about the video, I'm glad most aren't.
I read it as "castrates" at first. After rereading the first part and then reading the rest of the title, I wasn't much less disgusted.
Ohio? Jeez, I thought South Carolina was bad. At least most people keep there traps shut.
well most people do but those who dont are extremely bold about their opinion and like to remind me everyday that my generation is doomed
Has anyone else realized that since slavery has ended and segregation times are over, religion is the one of the only things that still encourages people to be intolerant of others?
Godfags being godfags, nothing new to see here move along
I read the title as "Christian group castrates Obama"
Dear people of all religions: homosexuality had to be created by someone. Why would that person who made it want you to discriminate and hate against that creation?
"do unto others as you would them have do unto you".
So rape is a holy now?
The Christian religion wouldn't have such a bad rep if the Church wasn't so ignorant and hypocritical. Fucking "holier-than-thou" assholes misinterpreting Biblical teachings. "Hey let's read one sentence out of every chapter, then ignore entire portions of our own holy book! :downs:"
Dear people of all religions: homosexuality had to be created by someone.
uh im christian and i could give less a shit if gays marry.

IIRC, they consider homosexuality to be caused by the fact that we are sinners and corruptions, and therefore imperfect, and have created things like that.
We were created by extension of a "perfect" being, though. The only way for us to be corrupt is for it to be inherently placed during our creation. An all-powerful deity has the ability for imperfection (by its standards) to never exist, but chooses to let us roll around in our own filth?
I believe it's a matter of freedom, being able to choose one's own fate while on Earth.
"Worship me or burn in Hell" is hardly freedom at all.
I believe it's a matter of freedom, being able to choose one's own fate while on Earth.
Except after you die. Then you're God's bitch and he has his enforcer satan fuck you in the ass with a spiked iron cudgel.
I believe it's a matter of freedom, being able to choose one's own fate while on Earth.
God can't have a "plan" for us and give us free will, it's either-or [editline]26th March 2011[/editline]
Except after you die. Yeah, I bet. If Satan's being punished in hell, then tell me how he had all that time to seduce those chicks in Salem?
Pft. Yeah, I bet. If Satan's being punished in hell, then tell me how he had all that time to seduce those chicks in Salem?
Satan is a crafty workman.
"Worship me or burn in Hell" is hardly freedom at all.
I guess you could say the same thing about law enforcement. "Obey the law or rot in prison" Yet people still claim to be free in America.
I think there is a difference between being able to do as you please except for killing people and not being able to do anything or you go to hell forever. I mean at least you get out of prison.
It is ironic because many parts of The Bible tells you to be tolerant of others. Unless they are having sex with a dog, it tell you to kill them if they are doing that.
this, dear god this
My parents believe in this kind of bullshit which is why I'm not coming out until I move away for college in a couple years.
I guess you could say the same thing about law enforcement. "Obey the law or rot in prison" Yet people still claim to be free in America.
Prison is a place for (mostly) temporary punishment against breaking laws, set to help society achieve equality, peace, and fairness. Other worldly realms, such as Heaven and Hell, are an ultimatum to scare people into worship. So put it this way: 1. You break a major law, so you are sent to prison (which in most cases, you will be released and hopefully learn your lesson). Society should be one person greater towards a satisfactory country. 2. Either believe in (G)od or burn eternally. This isn't a slap on the wrist. You need to believe a certain way, or you will be damned forever. No second chances. There's a difference between the two.

Never has been, never will be V:v:V Related to the OP, this is just another bout of shit from some idiots who would rather waste their time with creating controversy instead of carrying out their religion. Mission trips are a good example, since they create a positive impact on impoverished countries; so long as they don't preach hate, that is. It's really a win/win. Either they get sent out there and help people, or they get eaten by a Bengal tiger.
Sigh, why can't people just accept others?
I was honestly surprised when I opened the thread, read the first post, and found out that said Christian group wasn't Westboro Baptist.
I believe it says not to accept them in the bible. If you're a Christian, you should know it is god's word.
There is no god. And there are as many religions as there are fetishes.
