Misleading title, but the rep in question is still a douchebag.
"You know what really gets me, as a Christian, is to see the ongoing attacks on Judeo-Christian beliefs, and then some senseless crazy act of terror like this takes place," Gohmert said"
I know precisely what he's talking about. Every time two gays get married, my blood pressure goes up and my hands start to shake, then the voices start saying: "Shoot them, who has the firepower to stop you?". It's why I have a socialist guarding my gun cabinet at all times so that when I get these compulsions he can slap me with a bible(he wears gloves of course, wouldn't want his skin to get burned) to snap me out of it. Personally, I think most restaurants, movie theaters, and other establishments should have guns on hand like fire extinguishers, with establishments within two miles of a Mosque being better equipped. "Break in case of Un-American assault"
Figures Facepunch would jump like a tiger on an article like this.
brb killing myself

Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas)
If you do, please take him with you. [editline]20th July 2012[/editline] Please. Just do us all this one kindness, and we'll immortalize you.
i reckon you'll be able to tell the decibel range of the uproar from this from fucking australia
Oh, so that's what that noise was.
and questioned why nobody else in the theater had a gun to take down the shooter.
God's will will guide my hollowpoint rounds through his Kevlar vest
questioned why nobody else in the theater had a gun to take down the shooter.
Because even if you have the right, that doesn't mean you should have to carry a loaded gun when you leave the house?
He doesn't seem as bad as I think you're all imagining. He is not saying that the perp did so in the name of attacking Christianity. He is not saying that religious things caused this at alll directly. He is saying that a general decline in morals has caused this. Which makes more sense but he was quite retarded about it.
This article is very true: http://www.theonion.com/articles/sadly-nation-knows-exactly-how-colorado-shootings,28857/
The nation's citizens also confirmed that, any time now, some religious figure or cable news personality will say something unbelievably insensitive about the tragic shooting.
Although in real life it was a politician. Quite the accurate article however. I love the Onion.
Clearly the shooter was trying to push the homosexual Jewish Iranian agenda
Well that didn't take long.
Jesus Christ.
I take that back what he said wasn't that bad at all really
Then you're probably insane.
Well that's not very nice.
How does that Franklin quote have anything do do with religion?
"only a virtuous people are capable of freedom"? He's extolling virtues here you know.
i reckon you'll be able to tell the decibel range of the uproar from this from fucking Alpha Centauri
Fixed that for You.
I think the shooter can redeem himself if he says he did it because of Christians forcing their beliefs on everyone else. :downs: But yeah, I agree with Elecbullet's comment on the decline of morals, it really is a problem.
yes i also think said moral decline is a bad thing *no-one will call me dumb if i'm as ambiguous as humanly possible*
Similar thing happened right after the Norway tragedy. American pundits got on the air and fought over what kind of political idealogy Breivik was. People just have no sense of perspective.
Similar thing happened right after the Norway tragedy. American pundits got on the air and fought over what kind of political idealogy Breivik was. why couldn't the guy just go into a room and pop these cold hearted bastards?
yes i also think said moral decline is a bad thing *no-one will call me dumb if i'm as ambiguous as humanly possible*
Agreed. Saying "moral decline" is in no way describing anything specific as morals are relative. Might as well just say "things I think personally are bad are happening and I think for some reason this stuff is caused by that", woo logic .

That statement can't possibly become logical unless we all adopt the same morals?
I read what he said with the voice of Bill O'Reilly Bastard
What logic? That statement can't possibly become logical unless we all adopt the same morals?
Sarcasm. Added sarc mark for emphasis :)
Why am I not surprised AT ALL?
