if you want to get mad at someone for palestine's trouble with this issue.....blame AIPAC.
Then the republicans start screaming about people being Anti-Israeli and yeah.
Wow how underhanded. Cut funding to an international body and insist on bilateral Palestine/Israel talks, but maintain that you're all about multilateral UN discussion to solve this issue. You're a basket case America.

India will probably rise to be the next Super power in a couple of decades.

Just the most logical assumption to me.

Take your pick from the numerous countries which are most certainly going to knock the US from the top spot because the US' foreign policies in small insignificant areas which I do not agree with is definitely going to destroy them. After all, population and a snapshot of their current economic growth extrapolated over 50 years is the most accurate means for figuring out who will become powerful, right?
The bottom line is there's going to be a large hole in UNESCO's budget because of the American law which withdraws funding and people at UNESCO should not look to Canada to fill that budget hole
Fuck you Baird.
The UK, Canada, Germany and the US abstained from the vote, so they did not cast a vote. The UK specifically made no real difference in their inaction.
Us too? I can already guess why
I heard the US government has stopped funding/supporting UNESCO or something. True?
Edit: I can't just believe it with the amount of idiocy and two facedness that would take from a nation.
Yeah I think the US and Canada stopped funding for UNESCO

Dude, Australia voted no on Palestine as well.
These countries voted no outright.
Australia, Canada, Czech Republic, Germany, Israel, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Palau, Panama, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Sweden, United States of America, Vanuatu.
I'm not surprised the Western nations on the list voted no, but I'm interested in the reasons why a small block of Pacific Islands did. I guess maybe they have ties to the US or the Uk or something.

Holland voted no, I'm ashamed.

I'm thinking the same about Australia's vote...

I believed they stopped any extra funding for UNESCO, meaning they would only be paying the membership fee.
Sweden voted no? What the fuck? I liked you guys.
Canada is nice, they did not cut off all funding to UNESCO. However the united states does not deserve membership as they do not pay membership fees anymore.

I'd be fine with the US getting out of the UN entirely. It's an awful organization.

No, China will be. India doesn't have much to offer except nukes.

Also if you guys want the full list of countries involved in the vote:
Sweden voted no, which doesn't surprise me because the government doesn't seem to have a problem ignoring human rights...
I remember this story about terrorist suspects being arrested, taken to the airport and flewn directly to US hands from sweden. You could say that the swedish government is just very co-operative with the american one. Probably why also Julian Assange has to be moved there.
