I wonder, why is a situation like this so sensitive? Personally it doesn't change my opinion about Apple if one of their employees is gay, bi or anything else. I mean, three teachers at my school are gay, and I've never noticed it in the two years I have been here. I only found out about five months ago, and asked myself 'why should it matter'? Not jumping to conclusions here, but this matter puzzled me for a long while now.
It's less about him being gay and more about him coming out publicly. Helps LGBT youth.
will there be any Gay partner finding iOS app?

"as a straight man, this doesnt affect me, so im going to downplay this as him seeking attention"
The foremost necessity for "coming out" is that our culture assumes that you are heterosexual unless you say otherwise. While some may not like sexual labels, it is up for individuals to decide. We like to associate as human beings. It is natural. I am more comfortable being gay when I know that there are others out there who are gay, too. A sense of community is comforting.
