You'd think after living through the Khmer Rouge he would have not fucking tortured the next generation.
Punishing your children by inflicting pain on them sickens me, but this is even worse than that.

'wow disciplining a child with work and chores is fucking hardcore man'
I think kids should be punished with chores and work its a lot better than chaining, if I didn't make that clear
I personally wouldn't punish my kids with chores or work. I wouldn't want to teach my children that work is something you do only when you've done something wrong. It's something that simply needs to be done, and I would make it rewarding to do.
That's not acceptable.
Edit: If you want to punish your son, you shouldn't do it on a physical level.
I agree with this, but occasionally there may be no other option. When I was younger I knew a guy who was a total dick with people. He'd steal their stuff, hit smaller kids etc and get away with it because his parents just told him not to/yelled at him. One day his dad was sick of it and whacked him ONCE. He behaved afterwards.
I just think that it should be the last possible route, and never enough to actually cause any damage.

Do you really want a kid's obedience through fear, though? Ideally, a kid should want to behave because it's the right thing to do, not because they are scared of doing the wrong thing.
I don't blame parents who resort to spanking, but I don't think it's ever the best option, even as a last resort.
Instead of beating your child like a fucking caveman, how about you sit down and talk to them and let them know what they did was wrong?
...Okay, I phrased it incorrectly, it seems. When I said "kicking their ass", I did not mean physical punishment, like, at all. Guess "kicking ass" is only used literally in English...
. . .so, did the kid stop skipping school?
