Just like the movement to remove all pictures of Mohammed on Wikipedia. lulz http://www.thepetitionsite.com/2/removal-of-the-pics-of-muhammad-from-wikipedia/
I got a good laugh out of the comments.
I love how FP's views on this (for or against) constantly changed every 2 posts at the start. Seems to be happening a lot.
it's also everyone else's right to call him fucking stupid because he's doing it out of ignorance and hate. plus for attention.
Was anyone telling you you couldn't say that?
It's kind of sad how humans have petty fits over their imaginary figures... :Dawkins102:
My parents always told me not to get attached to imaginary friends. If that's the case, then why the fuck do they worship the same one?

Sorry if I'm repeating a previous post here, I only had a quick skim through the thread. Today I opened the newspaper, a few pages in I see two pages covered with pictures from around the world of different Muslim nations burning bibles and American flags. This is not the first time I've seen Muslims burning flags / effigies, nor will it be the last. Why is it totally acceptable for this to take place on an almost global scale on a regular basis but as soon as one guy from America threatens to burn a few copies of the Qur'an all hell breaks loose and people see it as the beginning of the appocalypse? To me it is the most hypocritical bullshit I've ever seen. Sure Muslims don't like to be tarred with the same brush, they don't want to be associated with terrorists but we can't deny the fact they are linked to the terrorists by their religion so they should take it upon themselves to do everything they can to stop these cunts bringing a bad name to their religion instead of wasting their time saying how much they hate the Western world. Seems to me that Muslims get way too many rights in the world, allowed to do whatever they want as soon as they start shouting 'discrimination', people are scared to stand up to them. If they don't like it, they can fuck off back home.
The imaginary friend causes death, too. [editline]11:10PM[/editline]
Sorry if I'm repeating a previous post here, I only had a quick skim through the thread. This man is showing off his freedom of speech in the most ridiculous way possible. He is now in danger of his life.

FP blabering about free speech all the fucking time, and when ever a bunch of back woods rednecks threaten to burn Qur'ans every one gets furious. (Even though this burning is unrelated to the Florida one, I think. FP Views: Topic: People protesting Mosque in NY FP's View: Its freedom of religion, you can build a mosque where ever you want! America is forgetting about the 1st amendment! I hate my country. Topic: Rednecks burning Qur'ans FP's View: Wow real mature way to show tolerance. Americans are being idiots. Show some respect. Let the guy do what ever he wants. He could burn a truck load of Qur'ans if he wanted, unless it breaks burning restrictions.

I.E. Not a mosque. It has been reported really badly, no wonder people are getting confused.
It's not a mosque. It is a community centre with prayer room.
Thats what a Mosque is, essentially.
But I guess you would gladly burn, say, Mein Kampf? Some fanatic nazis hold it as their sacred text, but I can only guess you would cheer on if that were to happen. Seriously, why the fuck does FP care so much about a goddamn book? I bet not a single fuck would be given if it was the Torah being burnt, or the Bible. :sax:
I don't know about you, but to me the burning of a book is one of the signs of a fascist ideal. In 1984, all the books are removed because they provoke concepts of free thought. No matter how evil a book is, burning literature is bad.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazi_book_burnings
My point exactly. Literature and the other arts are the last bastion of liberty when all else has fallen, I refuse to accept that we should be allowed to destroy something as beautiful as an artistic creation. [editline]10:31PM[/editline] You don't kill a mockingbird, cos all it does is sing.

There is a huge difference.

All he did was burn 2 or 3 pages. I was kinda expecting him to douse the book in guzzoline and light the whole thing up in one go.
Burning a Quran is the only respectful way to dispose of it actually If he really wanted to offend he should throw it in the dirt and stomp on it But rednecks don't know how to do research so whatevs
America is a developed first-world democracy. And dammit, burning the Quran is not the proper way to dispose of it. You are supposed to put it in a river.
oh sorry i was confused because everyone else ever says the exact opposite
America is a developed first-world democracy. The countries where flag burnings happen are developing third-world theocracies.
So if the pastor lived in a third world country he could burn all the Korans he wanted without any outcry?
