US debt crisis: Republicans abandon vote as deadline looms
;31414537']The democrats are the ones who seem to be doing that. They vote down all republivan plans to increase the debt cieling, but don't have a decent one themselves.
They've proposed 2 plans that I know of detailing an extension of the debt ceiling and deals for major cuts, which put the Democrats giving 60% while the Republicans give 40% in cuts and taxes. This whole ordeal is going down because the republicans are refusing deals where they have the advantage. Dems have proposed 2 damn good deals and the Reps are simply walking away.
;31414563']How is cutting spending not a solution.
Cutting spending is an option, but cutting medicaid, education, and other HELPFUL services is not. Leaving military practically untouched is not cutting spending.
you tell me. At least my "morons" are proposing bills and solutions.
Just because the Republicans might be proposing more solutions doesn't mean they're any good.
Republicans holding a nation and it's economy hostage so that they may advance their own gains?
How am I not unnerved by this.

nah man, that's just hippie propaganda
The democrats are proposing many solutions and have been doing so for a while now, more so than the republicans who have circulated a few samey bills that do little to actually help, where as the democrats have made many various concessions and changes in their own bills.
Grow up glaber.
Are you telling me that the adult thing to do in this situation is to let Kids propose 90% of the solutions? If that's the case, I don't wanna grow up, I wanna be a Toys R Us kid.
Seriously though, If they have been coming up with solutions, LINK to them.
A decent one meaning one that actually helps the country?
Right, cause I'm becoming more and more convinced that republican supporters don't actually pay attention to the people they support, and just blindly bash democrats.
The democrats have made so many changes to their bills but the republicants won't change anything in theirs.
The Boehner plan (which I support) doesn't touch entitlements like medicare.
Republicans holding a nation and it's economy hostage so that they may advance their own gains?

I knew the Republicans didn't give a shit about that bill. Time to prepare for another depression.
how should we get our economy running better again ms. palin?
NUKE THE CHINESE
KILL THE BLACKS
EXTERMINATE THE GAYS
KILL THE JEWS
good plan i'll see to it
Now that is just dumb.
Glaber, just go. Just go, and go, and never come back. There's no way you can honestly be thinking "Man, fuck dem Democrats, this is all their fault that we can't figure out a compromising proposal."
Maybe we'd actually ge something done, if you didn't rely on your enemies to make the bills or proposals in the first place? I mean, how many democrat bills have there been to try to tackle this? And where's Obama's plan? (This I want a link for)
So far, the only Democrat pan I can think of is Reid's

you tell me. At least my "morons" are proposing bills and solutions
Oh my god, please go away.
I knew the Republicans didn't give a shit about that bill. Time to prepare for another depression.
atleast there's no dustbowl this time

Are you fucking kidding me or did you just lose your mind because none of what you said makes any sense.
Now, for real, read the bloody thread, it's been linked.
Glaber please go, you aren't helping anything with your shitty posts.
you tell me. At least my "morons" are proposing bills and solutions.
So there is Reid's bill and Boner's bill?
Are there any Republican bills I'm not aware of? Because to me it looks like 1 Democrat bill and 1 Republican bill.
;31414711']Read my link. 2 plans that I know of, the link is Obama's. The one you said didn't exist.
Obama's plan is to cap spending at extremely elevated levels. Thats not even a plan.

I hope he's just kidding, he can't be this retarded.
you tell me. At least my "morons" are proposing bills and solutions.
You do realize that Obama has been giving up great concessions to the Republicans right? He's been saying that he is willing to cut entitlements and medicare/medicaid, one of the fucking pillars of faith and creation to the Democrats. How is that not proposing bills and solutions? Shit, even the Democrats are nailing him for this.

Because glabers eyes and ears are so full of republican shit he can't see any sort of reality through it.
Democrats concede and do what's right = Republicans blame democrats
Republicans can't come up with a plan that even their own side likes = blame democrats
If glaber was really so dumb, You would have no problem creating wonderful counterarguments that would destroy his, but instead you flame him?
Mr Obama said Mr Boehner had rejected an "extraordinarily fair deal" that would have included $650bn (£400bn) of cuts to entitlement programmes.
Mr Obama said he had been willing to take "a lot of heat" from his party.
Explaining the walkout, Mr Boehner told his Republican colleagues: "In the end, we couldn't connect."
"I have decided to end discussions with the White House and begin conversations with the leaders of the Senate in an effort to find a path forward," Mr Boehner said in a letter to the Republican rank and file.
;31414737']Obama's plan is to cap spending at extremely elevated levels. Thats not even a plan.
Obama's specific plan for this called for the Democrats to cut 650 billion in entitlements and to bring in a fair amount in taxes, so that both sides share the sacrifice of giving in to what they don't want. You can't expect us to just cap spending at a level below what is necessary to continue social programs. Entitlements and social programs are a necessity, cutting entitlements is a very bad thing, but it was a move by the Democrats to give in and share sacrifice for the better outcome.
If they were acting like Republicans, then they'd give half that amount, expect the Reps to bring in double through taxes hikes, if even give anything, and walk out in fair talks.
Oh, and both sides agree a spending cap is necessary, but it's not an issue of immediate importance for this immediate issue. It can be hammered out later, but the Republicans need to quite being whiny bitches about it and save that fight for another day, because we don't have time to argue that.
Hell, in the second plan Dems are even giving up more in entitlements than they're asking Republicans to bring in through tax increases. That's not even fair, that's hardly equal, we're at the point where the Republicans are being so immature that the Democrats are desperately trying to win them over with extra sweets because the Republicans are having a fit int he bloody store because the candy is blue and not red.
;31414896']So far the only counterargument i've seen is "hurrr rpublcans r all morons. glber iz dum."
Glaber says "democrats don't make concessions, don't have plans, republicans are doing that"
Reality says "the republicans haven't made one fucking concession to the democrats, and Obama has been doing a god damn good job being biparitsan for the sake of the country".
TBH you guys are wasting your time getting the truth through glabers and sluggos thick skull
Why do you people(sluggo, glaber) support a guy like Boehner, who when offered a way to fix this problem and actually have a solution walks the fuck away?
