The republicans make the US look as dramatic as the Big Brother house.
Where's the source on the first link? Link 2: i can't think of anything to say about it except for: do we even have the trans scrips for what went on back there? The plan in link 3 was for 2.7 trillion over 10 years. We already spend at a rate faster than that! no wonder Republicans rejected it. Apparently, Democrats what to spend faster than they can either save or earn. (if you can call it earning for either side) Link 4 to me just shoes that this isn't 1995 all over again. If it was, this deal would be done already. (See what a differance Fox news can make?) Link 5 seemed to deal with Obamna's empty threats and the threat of impeachment. Those Social Security checks Will go out regardless. Otherwise, Obama is the one held responsible for Actually not paying Senior Citizens their SS checks. Links 6 and 7 just show bad math from both sides. Also I don't support Boehner's plan. What I support is Cut, Cap, and Balance. the final link was Mc Cain complaining about his party. Not one of these links lead to a bill by Obama. That's what I want to see. For contrast, here's Boehner's bill: http://nationaljournal.com/congress/document-latest-versions-of-boehner-reid-bills-20110729 http://rules.house.gov/Legislation/legislationDetails.aspx?NewsID=442
Source for the first one: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-14258888 (2 seconds in google) And it was a proposal that never got to bill form because talks broke down. You can blame Boehner for the lack of the actual bill.
Dude... this is so bad. Give it to a UK resident straight, are we fucked?
Odds are, yes. On the plus side, now the whole world hates the Republicans. This death of the party and hopefully its members will arise as a result. They deserve nothing less for so negligently allowing us to slip into the abyss- and consequently dragging the whole world with us. Over something as childish as party interests. Fucking idiots.
Stop buying fucking iphones when you can't pay your damn bill.
The welfare bullshit that's going on now is stupid. A family of a certain race can buy an iPhone, 35 steaks and a new car while sitting with their thumbs up their asses getting free money from the government. Yet my own family works our asses off, paying bills and shit on time (with a little bit of debt) but we can't afford those luxuries. Or we can every once in a while. It's a corrupt system where the poor demands more because they're getting from money from the government. The people on welfare should be given money based on their income. No income, no or very little money.
good lord if America's fucked, everyone else is gonna follow suit
The plan in link 3 was for 2.7 trillion over 10 years. We already spend at a rate faster than that! no wonder Republicans rejected it. Apparently, Democrats what to spend faster than they can either save or earn. (if you can call it earning for either side)
The Republican bill was for just $850 billion, so the $2.2 trillion is obviously not enough!
Not one of these links lead to a bill by Obama.
I take it you don't expect the Republicans to wait for Obama to propose a bill for them, so what does this have to do with anything? Also, Obama has agreed with various Democrat proposals, so why does he himself need to put forth a bill, rather than the hundreds of individuals working in Congress?
The government kicks your door in and sell your mac on ebay.
Fine by me, it was free anyway.
Fuck it. I say if the economy collapses, or something extreme happens, we reform everything with the sole purpose of colonizing space. Take everyone that doesn't have a job, give them a wrench and some bolts and say "See that rocket over there? All I want you to do is bolt that section to that second section" When they're done for the day give them fifty bucks and three square meals a day. It'd be like NASA's version of the Conservation Corps.
Is it bad time to move to USA for 4 years? [editline]30th July 2011[/editline] Somewhere like Chicago
Is it bad time to move to USA for 4 years?
It's definitely not the best, but I'd gather if we don't get something done about this debt crisis then it would be a bad time to move anywhere except maybe China for more than a few years.
space is cool and all, but it isn't something you rush to, there isn't immediate profit for going to space
You could always mine asteroids. I read somewhere that a 1.6 km, Type-S asteroid can provide $20 trillion dollars of metal.
Not one of these links lead to a bill by Obama. That's what I want to see.
What do you mean "led by", exactly? His role is executive, he doesn't propose legislation.
like i said, it would take forever to get to the asteroid, and mining/hauling the metal isn't going to be cheap.
True, but space isn't something you want to get into for a quick buck. You obviously have to be in it for the long haul, but the payoff would be spectacular There is more metal in a single medium-large sized asteroid than all of the metal mined in human history, so that should be a hint. [editline]29th July 2011[/editline]
What do you mean "led by", exactly? His role is executive, he doesn't propose legislation.
Apparently the Republicans are under the impression that it's the President's job to tromp up and down the halls of Congress waving bills in congressmen's faces.

When it comes to looking at people on welfare, for the majority, there's a huge drop-off once basic needs are met. You'll see rates of 81% possessing one microwave, but about 29% own one video game system. The huge myth that poor people are lazy asses isn't true for the majority of poor people, they're working just as hard as your family is. You can't give support just based on income, either. There's plenty of more factors going into the whole process than just how much money is coming into the house.
we don't have the 50-100 years to get to space, we need cash now.
We came together and managed to put a man on the moon within at least 10 years, why shouldn't be able to do more than that in the same time period?
we don't have the 50-100 years to get to space, we need cash now.
Call J.G. Wentworth. 877-CASH-NOW.
IT'S MY MONEY, AND I WANT IT NOW! - Republicans on making a deal.

Hey Glaber, Obama cannot make a bill. You know, because he is in the executive branch of government instead of being in the legislative branch that is in charge of making laws. Separation of powers is a wonderful thing, eh? Obama can only moderate and come up with a strategy, congress has to be the ones to actually make legislation.
i went to go cook something and i thought of that, what the fuck
It's an infectious cancer of the commercial jingle world. "It's YOUR money! Use it when YOU need it!"
Gentlemen. It has been a privilege reading with you tonight.
Spend more money on the army. You never know when Atlantis will invade, so you better be prepared with the 9000 tanks, thousands of military airplanes and the several massive battleships. $700 billion well spent (every year)
I see you guys bagging on the military. That is fine I guess. The thing is, you guys are allowing a lot of hyperbole into your posts. I did not join the US Army just to have people that come from other countries ridicule what I do and talk about how I do not deserve a paycheck. I agree that some military spending needs to go down, but it cannot be the one to bear the entire brunt of cuts. Remember, a big part of the US economy are military contracts.

It was the last serving battleship in the world. I guess if we needed to we could always lug it out of retirement and refit it from a museum ship into a functional warship again. Nitpicking. Sorry, carry on.
