Wasn't there a law recently saying you are allowed to jailbreak an item because you own it and you are free to do what you want with it?
As far as I understand that is a provision under the DMCA which obviously does not apply in the EU at all.
I'd still love to know what he has actually done that is illegal in Germany.
Kinect hackers have done amazing shit, microsoft probably love them for it. At least the marketing part.
So much so that Microsoft reversed their decision not to release an SDK for it on the PC.
Being a long time Sony user, I have all of their systems. I am quite appalled at this. Their console was cracked so what. Instead of having a fit they should just make a fix. I love my ps3 but for a company to say I can't use it how I want it is just ridiculous.
the badage boys...
...are not back in town

edit:
well sorry guys i thought you could UNDERSTAND that the POINT of this post was that i thought this was a badage boys thread because sony breaking into people's homes was to surreal
You mad Sony bro?!?
Maybe you jelly? Jelly that someone got past your security?
You want some toast with that jelly?
Nah there just peanut butthurt.
Didn't this happen before with the same guy, but instead he had an iPhone 4 that some Apple Dev left at a bar, or am I thinking of something else?
Why is Sony so upset over people hacking there console? Its not that big a deal.
Of course not. The fact that one day I might log onto my PSN account to see that my console has been banned is no big deal at all. :downs:
[sp]Which would only happen if they would somehow get across all PS3 units unique ID's but still, who knows how long that will take.[/sp]
and said not to email him anymore
Looks like it's from a movie. :v:
Sony has police?
I never saw a company flip out so hard because someone used their leaked keys.
Sony should take care of their network security and stay there. This is only hurting their brand. Fucking retards.

You don't get the situation at all so stop talking.
The only reason they're able to ban others now is because Sony flipped a shit about people wanting otherOS on the PS3 and started banning everyone they could find.
Obviously that didn't go as they had planned.
This entire situation is Sony's fault, I believe they even broke European law by removing OtherOS.
Sony is reaching a new level of butthurt previously unseen in any corporation.
This shit is getting too serious
Calm down Sony

They still have a reason to try and prevent it. For the sake of their legitimate customers, such as myself.
The Xbox got hacked, the Wii got hacked, but when the PS3 got hacked Sony flipped their shit and started raiding houses.
it's because of this I want sony to lose even though I been useing them since the 90's

To be honest its not a security problem, they failed to understand the word "random" in the context of "random number generator".

that's a pretty bad security problem
that's a pretty bad security problem
Its not so much of a security problem (in the sense of a network security problem). From what I have read it seems to be some bad code somewhere.

Das Sony eu SuThER !

I think it would be funny if a group / single person somehow was able to acquire the unique IDs of every PS3 and started selectively banning entire countries until Sony decides to fuck off, starting with Japan. Sony would just reverse the bans and might end up disabling the system altogether... Then skiddies come in with hacks and then its just all bottlecaps.
I always regretted buying a Xbox 360, but since Sony has shown their true colors in the last few months I couldn't give a shit about them or their console anymore.
Nah there just peanut butthurt.
what
This entire situation is Sony's fault, I believe they even broke European law by removing OtherOS.
Yep, SCEE have been dragged to court because of it.
Sony is stupid.
We bought the console and have rights to do whatever the shit we want with it. Now they are trying to arresting people for looking inside their own property, that's like buying a house but to be sued by the guy that sold you the house for looking into the house and modifying it.
Sony is stupid.
Are they absolutely insane?
SONY : "FUCK ME!, FUCK ME!"
http://ps3crunch.com/grafchokolo.html
And now he's getting sued for a million euros and threatened with jail time. Wow, Sony...
Does Sony think this will solve anything?
Look at what happened to the law firms that took on those copyright infringement cases in the UK, their bad PR drove them into the ground.

This is what I thought, from the thread title.
i don't care if i'm using a sony computer, a sony mouse, a sony speaker, a sony monitor, a sony tv or a sony keyboard. This is fucking dumb. Stop. Why haven't sony's decision makers be arrested yet?
