But the new capability, introduced to help users correct spelling and grammatical errors, means posts can be modified, and their content changed. Facebook users who liked or interacted with the original post are not notified of any changes made.
"Let's see how many people can abuse this feature and stitch people up"
oh no i can edit things when i make a spelling mistake the fucking horror. just put a edited tag on the post.
when you edit a post it puts a little "Edited" thing near the like button and you can click it to see the entire edit history
Wow, if you can see the edit history what's the point of this news bit?
when you edit a post it puts a little "Edited" thing near the like button and you can click it to see the entire edit history
then why is everyone complaining
Wow, if you can see the edit history what's the point of this news bit?
Extremely slow news day, I suppose. It's not even Facebook's fault or anything if people "misuse" their ability to edit what they say.
I don't see how this is a huge problem, we do this on facepunch all the time
I don't see how this is a big deal. People need to stop taking Facebook so seriously.
I don't see how this is a big deal. People need to stop taking Facebook so seriously.
People need to take people on Facebook seriously.
I edit my facepunch posts a LOT prevents a lot of automerge breaks
I thought you could already edit stuff you've posted? I've seen numerous people do it before. (as in like months/maybe a year ago) also if people want an example of abuse of features
I have been able to edit my posts for a long time is this new? Also I like to get into a heated argument with someone, then delete all my posts so people try to figure out what the hell they are arguing with themselves about. edit: yeah exactly like the above picture that I didn't look at before posting.
I think the issue is that any "like" ratings stay on the post now, no matter what you edit into it IE: [t]http://i.cubeupload.com/z0UWSR.jpg[/t] You sick bastards! [editline]30th September 2013[/editline] Mind you this doesn't happen very often in any serious context Will be interesting to see how it pans out on facebook though
"I like kittens" 36 likes
A couple clicks later
"Hitler was right." 36 likes
Oh, what fun can be had with this
Wow, if you can see the edit history what's the point of this news bit?
Hits and sensationalism. It's playing on the scenario of..
"EVERYONE LIKE MY KITTY PICTURE" 100,000 likes later.. "HITLER IS SUPREME LEADER! KILL ALL JEWS!" 100,000 people like this.
Bait'n'switch.
-snip- realised it wasnt for comments
