President Trump Makes a Statement Regarding the Paris Accord

I hate to say this for the sake of the employees there, but I really hope Mar a Lago sinks into the ocean because of this.
I hate this country.
I'm trying to imagine being the kind of person that thinks this is a good thing. The kind of person who still supports Trump.
How fucking horrible.
Imagine being so fucking stupid that you actually think screwing over the planet you personally live on- (you seriously , seriously, dumb mother-fuckers) to be a positive direction for your favourite political retard to be taking.
Imagine how this is going to look in the history books, for fucks sake. When all the propaganda, misinformation, and partisan tribalism has passed. Imagine reading about how one of the most powerful nations on earth elected a pampered man-child to it's highest office and cheered as he ignored the biggest threat currently faced by humanity, all because the last guy who held the title was black and from the other party.
I feel like the only sober person in a car heading towards a lake of radioactive sludge, and nobody is letting me drive.
Yeah, but remember what Trump said - they only signed because they wanted to laugh at America, cheering and hollering at us because we signed a deal that prioritized the people of Paris over the people of Pittsburgh.
:hurr:
I am practically the king of saying things that sounded way better in my head than out loud, and I can't even fathom the mindset that allowed something that daft to get past the lips.
Joke's on you. Trump has no sense of shame.
Are you fucking kidding, the man's got a shield around his ego as thick as his business card. Well, I suppose shame isn't the right trait, but goddamn is he prideful and he's already feeling like a victim from the existing disapproval.

I dunno, I think the people who still support Trump after this are the people who believe climate change is a big conspiracy, or atleast crazily overexaggerated and that Trump is just looking after the economy by not choosing to go along with these deals and regulations that would make america less competetive in the global market.

"So much for the tolerant left, am I right? :smug:"
But, for real though, it would be interesting to see Trump respond to that, if his three working brain cells could even rub together to make the connection.
Is there a vote in the midterm to sacrifice the administration to a volcano? If the logistics wouldn't work, then maybe to Cthulhu, R'hllor, or send them on a permanent mission to Pluto? It'd really help to get more people to vote in the mid terms.
Can't I but feel like there are good guys and bad guys, and that the good guys aren't winning.
I know it's a bit condescending and simplistic to act like I'm morally in the right and they are not but I'm not really sure how else to view this one. Honestly, if Theresa May wins this election and starts pushing her stupid internet policies and dementia taxes then I may actually just entirely lose hope in all of this. As if I haven't already.

it's very easy to do so when you realize these people don't care about anything but themselves and their tribalist mindset that anything those dirty liberals say is a bigger lie, than any said by the king of liars and his minions.
Or essentially, fuck you, got mine.

I'm amazed we haven't gotten a video of him breaking down or throwing a tempter tantrum yet. That would be funny to see.
Because that's how effective the climate change disinformation tactics were. Even to this day, when we have literally terabytes of solid evidence worth of proof, you have people still undecided on the subject even after being shown some of it. Facts won't convince people who're wishy-washy or refuse to be convinced of the truth behind a subject. Which brings to mind that old saying, "a lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is still putting on its shoes."
I have to appreciate how well other countries have done, though. India is making some serious progress on tremendously improving their infrastructure - and the cool part is that many of us will get to see a country that makes the transition from developing to developed country with a vastly clean energy supply.
iirc, India has one of the biggest/most effective solar plants, has several airports run on pure solar, along with a number of other noteworthy achievements.
Same with China, too. They've really made a complete pivot on their energy policy, and it'll be interesting to see how well/fast they transition due to their government allowing unified policies (buuut... authoritarianism :v)
Just makes me even more irritated and ashamed, though. We owe it to the rest of the world to shape up, because its going to be poorer and smaller countries that contributed the least to climate change that will be the most affected by it.
Its all just so fucked.

Just imagine you're a hillbilly who has no idea what's going on in the world.

Nobody wins in this scenario, apart from the old and already well off... perhaps.
Most people are "good people", few actually have malicious intent.
How is this man not impeached yet? By the time his term is done I'm doubting there will be anything of the superpower the US was left.
[sp] If he hasn't started a nuclear war by then either [/sp]
So what are trump supporters going to use as a scapegoat for this? Hillary's emails again?

I wish I was artistic, or super-capable with Photoshop, because now I want to take Mar-a-Lago's beautiful vistas and visualize them after they've been flooded with 4 feet of seawater and the entire complex is abandoned and unmaintained.
Be amazing if what changed Trump's mind was seeing what his precious Mar-a-Lago will look like after he dies, everything wrecked and collapsing.

Several pages back someone said that Fox is running a story about who Hillary's blaming for her loss now. :hammered:

or "She would have done it worse!!!!!"

Who cares about kooky Climate Change when our good God-Emperor has bigger fish to fry, like Seth Rich or Pizzagate?
The defense appears to be "But it doesn't matter what we do because China is so much worse about polluting!" right now.
Nevermind that they've realized that they were fucking up and are taking steps to fix it. China.
So what are trump supporters going to use as a scapegoat for this? Hillary's emails again?
They're not going to scapegoat. They're going to cheer about a big blow being struck 'against globalists'.
Who cares about kooky Climate Change when our good God-Emperor has bigger fish to fry, like Seth Rich or Pizzagate?
Pretty much.
Do people still believe the Republicans are going to turn on Trump if he becomes too unpopular? Because I don't see how things can get worse and they still seem committed.

It's like what somebody said before on Reddit; the GOP would gladly let Trump shit in their mouth if a Liberal had to smell it.
Combine this and the possibility that he increases the use of pollutant energy, I can already see the future of urban Americans walking around wearing masks while surrounded by smog plus life expectancy decreasing and children suffering due to complications with pollution.
Some will say I'm just appealing to emotions and exaggerating but this is already a reality in China, it'll be one in the US of A sooner or later without proper measures to fight it.
It's like what somebody said before on Reddit; the GOP would gladly let Trump shit in their mouth if a Liberal had to smell it.
It's not about the party. It's about making the other party feel bad.
Do people still believe the Republicans are going to turn on Trump if he becomes too unpopular?
Absolutely. They're loyal to two things: Money - and being re-elected. So long as Trump's support base is large enough that it'd be a big loss to them to not cater towards them, they'll support Trump as long as they can. They may not like the guy (and I bet inwardly a lot of them hate him) but they love his support base.

I don't have enough alcohol in the house for this.
Do people still believe the Republicans are going to turn on Trump if he becomes too unpopular? Because I don't see how things can get worse and they still seem committed.
I imagine like the Republicans are a mess of differing opinions at the moment, I mean lots of republicans didn't like Trump from the start, some have definitely realized what a shit situation it is along the way, and some have probably lost all hope. I think by the time the republican party gets it's shit together and decides to uniformally turn on Trump, it won't really mean much.
I wonder if he'll start caring when his golf course turns yellow and all the grass dies.
Give me a Mars ticket

You're damn right that Trump wants to protect his idealized self-image from anything that might shatter it. You're right that he is feeling and will always feel like a victim because, in his mind, he can do no wrong. If he could somehow be exposed to nothing but criticism, he would surely go mad.
But don't you ever think for even a split second that Trump will ever feel sorry for what he did. Because, once again...he can do no wrong.
