Shit I hope my nephew doesn't re-enact Starcraft in the playground he'll have such poor micro it'll be unreal!
I remember when I first played N64 smash bros - it got so violent on the playground me and 3 other kids were suspened. We were like 8 at the time, and we were actually kicking the shit out of each other. Don't see whats wrong with acting it out.
It just pisses me off how videogames are the form of media picked up as the one that turns kids into murderers, it's obvious that kids as young as 4 shouldn't be exposed to violent videogames but doesn't the same apply to movies, music, etc? If there's someone to blame it's the parents (in case of children) and mental disorders (in case of adults), not the games...
But wtf so these kids Re-enact GTA and COD? While they are 4? I thought cod was 12+ or so and GTA is 16/18+. What kind of parent buys 4 year olds 16+ games? Back in my day (Oh god im barely 18, and yet this sounds best) we had freddy fish and pyjama sam, and that kind of games. It's called good parenting, people. "Oh no I gave my kids violent games and now they are re-enacting it!" :wtc:
Other than these over protective groups, who said that the kids had been playing GTA and CoD? Kids always did weird things like this, but much like almost everything from history, we only saw what people wanted us to see. Kids playing nicely and peacefully with their toy trains or sticks. In reality kids (mostly boys) always play fairly viciously compared to what we think they do. [editline]3rd April 2012[/editline]
Those who Favor security over freedom deserve neither
That's a fucking retarded quote for many reasons. You can be free, but live fairly secure lives at the same time. Being told "you can't do this, it isn't great for you" isn't imposing on your freedoms to the extent people who believe this think. It's stopping the mindless masses from fucking themselves and others over. Security doesn't mean "You can only do this, this, and that", and freedom doesn't meant "Fuck, do whatever you want". It's not black and white.
What about the kids who do even crazier shit and don't even own a TV?
all lies and deception created by violent videogame terrorists

Every media gets demonised as something that corrupts children and turns them into murderers and rapists. Usually the newer forms, which happens to be video games this time.
My little sister watches me play Minecraft, she's never been the same since.
My mum watches me play PC games a lot. She likes to comment on how realisticly proportioned femShep is in ME2.
My mom plays games. Only games like Mario though, but she did take an interest in Uncharted while I was playing it.
Kids acting like kids? Stop the fucking press.
Kids acting like kids? Stop the fucking press.
There's only one press?
When i was a kid, I always pretended to be a plumber because of Mario game. I always want to run as fast as Sonic. But playing as ninja from Mortal Kombat has never ever led any child to murder someone. Re-enactment of a violent scene doesn't necessarily means the person is literally going to commit such act whent hey are older. I mean no one has literally go jump into the sea to look for spongebob or go grabbed a gun and start shooting people after playing GTA.
"Let's blame games for all out problems." It's not games' fault that you're fucking worst parents in the world!
Before video games it was movies, before movies it was music, and so forth. Every media gets demonised as something that corrupts children and turns them into music. Usually the newer forms, which happens to be video games this time.
:wtc: I wish I was music.
:wtc: I wish I was music.
Good catch :v: I don't though, it would suck not being able to listen to anything but myself.
teens find it difficult to separate fiction from fact of their virtual personalities
well I'm not doctor but I'm fairly certain they have pills for that because, you know, anybody who would actually have that difficulty sure as fuck needs them
Anybody remember those gold days of your youth where you and a group of friends would make a stick and ferns fort in the forest and 'pretended' (key word) that you were in the military or whatever, and the only thing you could use to attack were pine cones and currency was those helicopter leaves or the latter that you used. None of this was induced by Video Games mainly cause back then you either had a Nintendo console or a play station 2 with G and even sometimes the PG game. Fast forward to today, Welcome to shitfest 2.0, we have little kids playing older people's games, and vice versa to some extent (you know what i mean)
Wow, ridiculous. I used to do stuff like this with my friends. My cousin's dad even built us a tripod mounted MG and wooden AK-47's to play with :v:
When i was 4 i reenacted captain scarlet, which was all i watched. [editline]3rd April 2012[/editline] By which i mean kids emulate everything
My 6 year old sisters don't even WANT to play GTA/halo/cod or watch violent movies/series. They're scared as shit by it or generally displeased when they see it. And even when they do want to, they stop after 10 minutes because their hands are too small to reach the buttons and they're shit at it.
Funny thing. My 7 year old cousin enjoys playing GTA IV quite a bit.
Man i played soldier too many times to count when i was a kid, and that was just as violent as these people are stating, if anything kids got out more in my generation than they do now, now everyone sits inside and plays games.
Of course it happens!... when the teachers and lecturers don't tell them its all just a game.
[img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/fTTDb.jpg[/img_thumb] Sums it up pretty much.
"Oh noo, little Timmy is pretending to be dead, jumping out of cars (The toy ones ofc), and playing war with friends, violent video games did this!!! Even before they were invented, ban them" If they haven't seen violent video games or not (Not talking about the kids in the articles), and still do it, it is called the TV news, no way to avoid them, they started this shit, and now they are blaming video games. I admit, when I was little, I played violent video games. But I knew they were fake and killing is bad, years later and still no urge to go on a killing spree in real life. Stop blaming video games, or atleast blame them WITH the TV news. The world has gone shit.
this one time i watched two guys make out on a video game and now i can't stop touching myself while i play games or go online
My 12 year old sister hardly knows what cod is, and she's seen me play it all the time. If you'd ask her what it was she'd say "some shooting game right?".
Same as a friend of mine. Her brother is 12 or something and plays cod on the PS3. I told her to call him quickscoping twat and smack him in the ass but since she sucks at english, I had no luck :c [editline]3rd April 2012[/editline]
But wtf so these kids Re-enact GTA and COD? "Oh no I gave my kids violent games and now they are re-enacting it!" :wtc:
Well when I was in the third grade or something, I got tekken 3 and it didn't screw me up at all. Sure we sort of did some fisty cuffs tournament but hey, I only turned 19 last year, and meanwhile I've lost track of how many games I've played that were way ahead of my age. Hell, when I got HL2, I wasn't at the right age to play it. Same for almost all GTAs, and maybe 3/4's of the games I owned/ever owned/ever played. And look at me today. I can't even throw a damn punch...
When TV first came along people complained on the Radio about how it fried kids brains out and how they were going to watch pornography because of it. Now that the TV is around and that the whole scare-wave has passed people use the television to complain about how video games brainwash kids and how they are going to play violent video gory shocking stuff because of it.
I still play cops and robbers... except it's airsoft and I'm 20 years old

Yes, it's the tagline for many tards (who often support military intervention in other countries lol hypocrisy) but many people who aren't derp do believe in the message.
My mum watches me play PC games a lot. She likes to comment on how realisticly proportioned femShep is in ME2.
My fundamentalist Christian conservative mom watched me play some Left 4 Dead. She thought it was pretty funny.
My mom plays games. Only games like Mario though, but she did take an interest in Uncharted while I was playing it.
My mom became addicted to newer video games after she saw me and my brothers playing Fallout 3. She loves the fallout games.
