unfortunately, the story didn't end well. The shark was discovered dead on the beach the next day
ffffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
except it died
The shark started his killing spree with killing himself.
He didn't think his plan through, it would seem.
Shark fins anybody?
I make an effort not to eat potentially threatened species.

True this
Sharks are awesome, poaching makes me sad though. When i first found out about shark fins being removed while the shark is still alive (and then thrown back in the water) i sadfaced.

Shark's have roamed the ocean for 400 million years. In the past 100 or so some shark species have declined 90% Because of what we do to them. If we continue killing sharks for fins that have no flavor we will cause the extinction of an animal that has been the apex predator of the ocean for 400 million years in a matter of a centuries. What people have done to sharks is not only cruel, it's inhumane. The demonetization and culling of sharks after an "attack" from us steeping into THEIR habitat sickens me. In my opinion they have every right to bite beach goers. We've practically waged genocidal war on them. Not only that, but out of more than 360 shark species, only four have been involved in a significant number of fatal unprovoked attacks on humans. There is a recorded total of 2,251 attacks worldwide since 1580, with 464 attacks being fatal, while we kill more than 100 million annually.
You have a better chance of winning the lottery, than getting attacked by sharks.
/rant
that's a seriously small great white.
Only thing that would have made this better is if he surfed the shark.
Didn't another guy do this? Except it was with a smaller shark...

It was rather young, it appears. Poor dude.
OP's avatar killed the shark.
Poor shark. I wish I had a pet shark that I could play with.
Tank with a shark + trapdoor under front door doormat = endless fun for the whole family.
A lot of people see sharks as hostile animals but really, once they get a taste of a persons blood, they usually spit 'em out.
It would be interesting if he did manage to rescue it, and then got bitten by it in when he started surfing afterwards.
That was good article, shame about the shark dying.
Oh well, atleast now it can do the killing in shark heaven.

But it would suffocate again!

Too bad that's usually too late if they hit a soft spot.
"So honey what'd you do today?"
"Oh not much, went surfing, saved a shark, surfed some more"
"Oh thats nice....wait what?"
Alternate Ending: (Save shark in less then 2 minutes without taking damage)
Surfer surfs out to see and accidentally flips off his board, only to be attacked by a school of Swordfish. One of them pierces the Surfer's arm, and he starts losing alot of blood. Out of nowhere, the Shark zooms in, and tears into the school of swordfish, ripping them to pieces, the Shark then Lazily swims off towards the open sea, but not before whacking the man's surfboard back towards him.
The man was treated and released from the hospital, and stands over a cliff overlooking the sea as the sun sets. His eyes widen in surprise, as he sees a single shark fin rise from the ocean, circle a few times, then the shark leaps up out of the water, black eyes focused on the surfer.
The Man then told his grandchildren, "I have what many consider a devil, but to me, my Guardian Angel, in that sea..."
