can somebody sum up this whole thing for me
PSN goes down, shit's still cool. PSN remains down, shit's getting warm. PSN turns out to be completely fucked, shit's fucked. Hackers will probably have stolen your personal info, shit's REALLY fucked. People sue Sony, shit is not sure about how it will be yet.
Oh no, they have my shitty email address that's full of spam from youtube and JTV, woe is me. But still, fuck these hackers and anyone who agrees with them, this isn't a good thing.
I'd probably feel bad for Sony if it weren't for their last few years of smug advertising campaigns.
I'd probably feel bad for Sony if it weren't for their last few years of smug advertising campaigns.
Do you mean Kevin Butler? Because that's satire.
I'd probably feel bad for Sony if it weren't for their last few years of smug advertising campaigns.
As if Sony are the only ones who advertise incredibly smug. Besides, you talking about those commercials with Kevin Butler? That stuff is awesome!
Just personal preference I suppose. While I won't deny a certain thread of awesomnitude in the Kevin Butler stuff, I've found their PR front a bit irritating of late.
I'd probably feel bad for Sony if it weren't for their last few years of smug advertising campaigns.
Kevin Butler was the best. I can't even remember any Xbox ad's
Kevin Butler was the best. I can't even remember any Xbox ad's
Actually, that pretend fight one was pretty awesome. But that was one they only showed during launch I think.
I'd say he's referring to Marcus moreso. Thankfully i believe those have been dropped
hurr hurr sony deserve it ITT
They do.
Fucking hell. Sony are in the shiznit. Also i wonder how much punishment the hackers behind this would get if caught? ideas ?
Fucking hell. Sony are in the shiznit. Also i wonder how much punishment the hackers behind this would get if caught? ideas ?
The theft of the credit card data alone could put him/her/them away for a LONG time.
I really hope the assholes behind this get caught and put away for a loooooong time.
I can just imagine all the other companies looking at Sony and going "holy shit, let's hope to fuck nothing like that happens to us."
I bet higher ups at Xbox Live/Microsoft jack off to these news articles.
Nah, They already knew their servers security was tighter than a nuns fanny, they've been laughing at Sony for years. Anyways, Sony astounds me sometimes, they make great technology but suck at the little things like, you know, security and encryption, but even the lack of features for PSN like cross-game chat and stuff which is non-existent, even though I'm sure people have asked for things like that since day 1. Sony deserved some kind of punishment for their arrogance towards network security and for the fact they sat on top of this information, But not to the extent that users credit card information was stolen, the users pay the price for this one. This would happen when I've almost finished my college work and when I'm most looking forward to drinking a little beer, playing a little COD. :frown:
:foxnews:This Just In- Everyone at Sony Gets Layed Off:foxnews: Also, is Facepunch harming your youngster's life? More at 11. :foxnews:
I really hope the assholes behind this get caught and put away for a loooooong time.
they will credit card theft is a pretty serious crime
sony is not a faceless corporation but a collection of people who work hard to provide us with services and products, all who have families to feed. a lot of those people will lose their job
blame the guys in charge of security
In the words of Moss from The IT Crowd:
Egg...and [their] face[s]...are in alignment.
Seriously though, I think Sony's (console-making) days could well be numbered. Remember when Sega was so massive we never thought they'd stop making consoles?
In all honesty, I want to like Sony. Really, I do. But shit like this just makes it really really hard. They've been making poor decisions with the PS3 since day one. They bash motion controls and then make a Wii rip-off that looks even cheesier then Nintendo's. They make their console cost the most. They charge for their online play...On top of that, their fanbase is comprised of spoiled screaming 13-year olds with easily offended egos. (cough) Sorry, I just gotta bring up this song again.
You're getting confused with Xbox Live.
Good, they deserve it. Maybe this day will go down as the day a small group took down a large corporation.
And ruined many people's lives, even when some didn't fucking deserve it. All the developers, software engineers, and lower workers. THEY SO totally getting stuck out in the wind because of your personal vendetta against the higher ups :colbert: [editline]28th April 2011[/editline]
In the words of Moss from The IT Crowd: Seriously though, I think Sony's (console-making) days could well be numbered. Remember when Sega was so massive we never thought they'd stop making consoles?
They got pinned between the PS2 and Nintendo, everyone would fail when stuck between that rock and hard place. This is exactly why I hate the fact corporations are seen as single human being. Genuinely good people suffer because of one or two assholes.
I wonder how easy it was to decrypt all the encrypted credit card info, since people are saying they have purchases they didn't make. But then again they could be lying trying to make Sony look bad or try to get money from them.
It means that they'll hopefully learn from their mistakes with the PS3 and make the PS4 much much better.
Well that's just stupid. If you want a PS4, then the fact that they're losing money isn't a good thing. Don't be narrowminded and schadenfreude about this whole situation. I'd much rather see Sony come out on top of this ordeal, and move on with what they do. There's no good in seeing them run into the ground because of some hackers.

It's their own fault. They've been at the brunt of attack after attack, threats, the whole lot, and did nothing to prevent this. Then they waited a week before telling any of the 70 Million people who use PSN that their info, credit card numbers, exp dates, birthdates, passwords, have all been compromised Serves them right for being so oblivious and stupid

They failed to take precautions to secure their system and encrypt user data to a reasonable level, they deserve to be punished severely.
this will only go through if you live on the moon and you are also retarded
