This is an awful point, what side is it even for?

The autistic side.
ahah, fuck sony, I think I'll be selling my brand new 320gb slim soon enough.
one way they might be able to still be in the console market is put out a less expensive CPU, put in some DX11 GPU and we might even look at PC graphics going better.
then again 24 billions is a bunch of fucking money.
I really hate how people are saying that Sony deserves this as if Sony is the only one suffering from this. A lot of customers suffered from this too, and I can imagine if Sony loses 24 billion dollars a lot of people are going to be out of work.

What?
What?
Is it really worth debating over, we all know what is going on in that post.
If this is true, it'll heavily cripple SCEA and Buddha knows how will Sony react to this. SCEA's market cap would be still 4b$, I guess a few services would be cancelled?
who's more to blame, the hackers for well... hacking, or Sony for some obviously bad security?
So how are PSN users losing money on this if the CVC codes weren't recorded on PSN? Are people just making shit up or is it still possible to steal from bank accounts without the codes?
my bet is that Sony goes bankrupt, and maybe Sega will pick up the PS3 to keep PSN alive long enough.
sony is getting pwnd, but PSN will be back up by this week....
That's what you get for making it illegal to hack your products, I guess.

Holy shit do I have to explain this to you morons every fucking page?
This attack had nothing to do with OtherOS or CFW. The people who are campaigning for those have no reason to cause damage to the customer that they are fighting for. They would not do this as it makes them worse than Sony. This was motivated by money and greed, using the anon attacks as a scapegoat to try and redirect the blame. It must be working because you lot keep thinking this was about OtherOS.
It is sad day for Sony people. Even though i've never even touched a PS3, I still feel bad for the people who've lost all their info, and I kinda feel bad for Sony since this is definitely going to have some severe repercussions for them, and a large drop in their trustworthiness. Although it's probably already happened for them, and the full effects are just about to hit them like a piano falling sideways into a polystyrene wall.
First Law suit:

Only $1bn
Sony is in for a hard time
But I like sony :frown:
And ruined many people's lives, even when some didn't fucking deserve it.
All the developers, software engineers, and lower workers. THEY SO totally getting stuck out in the wind because of your personal vendetta against the higher ups :colbert:

Yeah, it gets annoying to hear people say it's all a good thing. It's definitely a bad thing.
It isn't just Sony that has stuff like this. My sister works for a huge energy company and said their info gets stolen more than you'd think it did. It just isn't publicised as much as this case was.
It's likely going to slow down a few things in Sony, but other than that they should earn the cash back in about a year. Their main problem is the consumers trust. They could lose a lot of customers because of this.
