Jeremy Clarkson really doesn't want to make another car show, this time by comparing transgenderism

dumb person says dumb thing; do people still care what jeremy clarkson thinks?
I find it funny how this is what makes people realize Clarkson is a cunt. People love him because of that.
Hey, man. You're the first one that used this as an argument, remember?
"Don't listen to Lium, he has a bible quote under his username."
What are you even arguing about, you haven't even said anything about the topic of discussion.
except he's the one doing the attacking? who cares if a senior citizen is slightly racist if they have the decency to keep it to themselves
The thing is, despite us not really knowing context yet, if we assume he was asked about it and answered with his thoughts, that's not exactly the same as suddenly writing a column or twitter rant about it.
dumb person says dumb thing; do people still care what jeremy clarkson thinks?
Yes, actually
it seems like he has a pretty massive fanbase
dumb person says dumb thing; do people still care what jeremy clarkson thinks?
Yes. There are still a lot of people who do. This is the issue.

what are you even talking about
Jeremy Clarkson can be kinda enjoyable, especially as part of the Top Gear Trio, but fucking hell he says some stupid shit.
This is the man who had over a million people cry out and demand that the BBC don't fire him after he fucking punched of his bosses in the face over cold food. People very much do listen and care about him.
It's dangerous to let people think they can get away with being complete arseholes as long as they make shit people like.
Hey, man. You're the first one that used this as an argument, remember?

lmao yeah dude it's just a bible quote. this one to be specific;
If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.
not like that's a good fuckin indicator lium is a huge bigot and should really not be expressing their opinions on this matter as they clearly have some issue to think that's a good quote to take pride in enough to pay money for on their profile.
nah, it's just a bible quote right??
What are you even arguing about, you haven't even said anything about the topic of discussion.
this is what i meant by hugbox lol
I think he crossed a line here.

He had an opinion which frankly does not affect his work and further still a non violent opinion.
We better blacklist him from ever having a job again.
if this isn't putting words in somebody's mouth then i don't know what is
I don't want to get into the whole gender debate but his comments only reinforce other idiots that abuse vulnerable people.
It's not like Jeremy Clarkson is some random harmless little old neighborhood bigot, he's a massive public figure with extreme popularity, people watch him in the millions
his opinions and the things he says matter and will have an impact, hell you can see his fans here going "HE'S RIGHT Y'KNOW" even
I'm just saying this tendency to try and tear down people who have been out paced by society is needlessly vicious. Progress is winning, why lash out at people who have lived a life with an older set of beliefs?
One day you might end up being that bigot, when people half your age are calling you a robophobe or whatever for not wanting to give AI human rights or some shit.
Jeremy Clarkson shouldn't lose his funny car man job for being a museum of quaint shit opinions.
I find it funny how this is what makes people realize Clarkson is a cunt. People love him because of that.
Clarkson has always been a fair cunt tbh. Even when presenting Top Gear he was needlessly antagonistic towards various groups of people in the name of "comedy" (I actually doubt how much of it was ""comedy"" the more he talks, but whatevs). I'm genuinely concerned it took people this long to actually catch on to that.
I honestly expect Top Gear would be utter trash if he didn't have May and Hammond around to divert his attention from ethic and sexual minorities for long enough for them to record an episode. Slow jokes and short jokes are much safer.
Explain what you mean by crossing the line because every time I have heard it there always seems to be this push to ruin their lives over their opinion.
I never received a response regarding what crossing the line means and I stand by my statement that most of the time it is followed by an angry mob demanding that their life is shattered.

Should he be given a platform to voice these opinions tho?

Quote where people said this lol

His age has nothing to do with it. He's a massive public figure spouting bigotry, that's what's important. Hell, it's not like he's ancient, he's 55.
Whether you think he should lose his job or not is up to you but he's a public figure therefore his opinions matter, what he says matters, and what he does matters, because he's in the public eye. This is one of the very basic, first things we learned in media class.
This outdone "Jews migrate cuz muslims" thread quite fast, what a show. As for issue - i think truth is in the middle, he does have a right to speak whatever is on his mind, but perhabs he could've added something to avoid a backlash, like "And it's just my opinion soo you can a suck whoever's dick" or just rephase his statement as whole to make it less agrevating (then again, when you're public person, whatever you do, you end up having somebody displeased with your action)

I did not state it explicitly happened in this thread. What I am saying is what I usually see happen in similar instances.
what
Can you make an attempt to contribute to this discussion rather than shitposting?
what
it's okay it's a karimatrix post. we were never meant to understand any parts but the elongated "sooooooo"s.
How controversial it might sound, he has a valid point in his piece, since it seems to be aimed the most towards parents who push their kids to it:
“I wanted to seek them out and explain that they were free to live a lunatic life, they must not – and I was going to emphasise this with spittle -, be allowed to poison the mind of a child.
It’s what kids do: dream impossible dreams, You don’t actually take them seriously. You don’t take them to a hospital when they’re 10 and say, “He wants to be a girl, so can you lop his todger off?
Because what’s going to happen five years later when he’s decided that being a man isn’t so bad after all and he’s in the showers at the rugby club?”
And really, call me old-fashioned and all that, but I think children shouldn't be allowed to transition at such a young age. It should be a decision that should be made when they are adults. Given how very permanent said decision is, and how it will impact the rest of their lives, I just feel like it isn't right to push a child towards such a permanent decision given how children seem to have phrases which can make swing their mood and life choices a lot, and it doesn't really even out until they are adults.
My older niece was also in such a phrase when she was younger, in they way that she preferred to be treated as a boy until she was 15 or so. It completely went away after that. Locking a 10-year old kid into a choice they made then for the rest of their lives just doesn't seem right to me. Yeah, I know that it is a controversial opinion here, but that's my take on it.

You viciously attack anyone who dares imply a suspect is guilty but assuming people you disagree with are violent, lynch-mobbing barbarians is ok by you?
It was all a plan by Clarkson to have Facepunch collapse in on itself in civil war.

lmao he's the one who wrote a column for a paper pretty much bashing the shit of the the trans community and when people call him an idiot or a bigot he's the one being "attacked"?
like people lose the ability to change their opinions after the age of 40 so everything they say after that is not their fault?
You viciously attack anyone who dares imply a suspect is guilty but assuming people you disagree with are violent, lynch-mobbing barbarians is ok by you?
I asked what he meant by crossing the line and explained my interpretation of that statement.
And yeah, I am a vicious assailant with these posts.
Is anyone surprised? I was always surprised people defended him before whenever he said or did stupid shit because "Top Gear wouldn't be the same without him."
As someone who doesn't care about Top Gear, it was always pretty obvious he was a shitty person. People were just filtering his shit through the lens of liking his work.
