Whatever, I'm done. I'm not going to try and ruin the echo-chamber that you guys are trying to accomplish. I'm just going to keep my views to myself and vote how I've been voting.
Done? You don't even argue with me and you're done? You're drinking some koolaid

Idk, as much as I enjoy arguing/debating with you (I really do actually. You have some very good points.), I don't really feel like arguing anymore. I've grown rather tired of it. Arguing/debating in SH was fun for a while, but it's become the same crap and same topics over and over again and I'm tired of it. Maybe we'll argue about something some other time....
So, riddle me this, how many other presidents delayed implementation of a law via executive order rather than by congress???
President Reagan did it in 1981 and 1985, using executive orders to allow the Office of Management and Budget to block or delay the implementation of new regulation from the EPA, which had been approved by congress.
Oh goddamn I spent like half an hour researching to find a specific example and now the argument is already over.
Honestly common core is just as bad if not worse than No Child Left Behind. "Everyone's going to learn the exact same thing, it doesn't matter how you learn or whether your interested or not" "all the teachers are going to get paid based on test grades, instead of their merits as teachers"
I could go on but honestly it's so bad that you'd be better off finding something GOOD about it.
i'd be fine with standards, but i've talked with education major friends and i've seen the material myself, and we both agree it sucks, especially the way it focuses on heuristic approaches to problem solving instead of actual problem solving, the common core approach is all about "new" math and "new" science, but really its just showing kids how to do better on tests without actually understanding the material
look we're all gonna think the next president is good and he's gonna suck, it's how it's been for pretty much forever
