BREAKING - Russian official has told Reuters that Gaddafi on a call with him told him he was still in Tripoli [editline]23rd August 2011[/editline]
Sky have their insane reporter out again with their awesome satellite gear and are broadcasting from the front line. She is talking to a dentist at the moment. http://t.co/2VQGDkY Sky Stream
How the fuck are the Brits beating Al Jazeera in this coverage, usually it's their reporters on the front line, instead all we get is the AP feed and shitty commentary
How the fuck are the Brits beating Al Jazeera in this coverage, usually it's their reporters on the front line, instead all we get is the AP feed and shitty commentary
Iv been thinking this for the last 2 days now, she was in a convoy with the rebels broadcasting live on Sunday. I think its just because they happen to have the equipment to broadcast (its a satellite internet connection, hence the low quality) with them and no other news channel does at the moment.
BREAKING - REBELS HAVE BREACHED THE FIRST GATE OF BAB AZIZIYA
BREAKING - REBELS HAVE BREACHED THE FIRST GATE OF BAB AZIZIYA
Apparently there is 2 or 3 layers they need to get through after that. According to Sky the rebels want NATO to bomb the compound walls, which they have apparently done before in other places.
I thought they breached the first gate like an hour ago
I thought they breached the first gate like an hour ago
I think its just been confirmed by multiple sources.
The live guy from sky news reports that Saif after escaping yesterday was driving around Tripoli in some sort of private convoy of 4X4 and offered to take journalists to the hottest places of Tripoli, including Ghadaffi compound where still a few hundred volunteers were taking up arms to support Ghadaffi. Also he said they have a plan to ''break the rebels'' spine when all the rebels are in Tripoli.
Apparently "very important" people are doing all they can to get the journalists out of the hotel. I wonder what they are talking about.
Apparently "very important" people are doing all they can to get the journalists out of the hotel. I wonder what they are talking about.
Thats mysterious, do you have a source?
;31898269']Thats mysterious, do you have a source?
A reporter talking on the phone to a Fox producer live on TV. After he had explained everything that had happened the reporter in the studio asked him to tell the rest of the journalists that people were working to get them out. Very odd.
Breaking - A jet just flew over Tripoli, dropped bombs on unknown target
Breaking - A jet just flew over Tripoli, dropped bombs on unknown target
Gaddafi forces. I think the target is pretty obvious :v:

This was posted on Military Photos a little while ago, NATO's latest flyers being dropped in Tripoli [editline]23rd August 2011[/editline] Some guy Sky have on is being confused / amazed by the fact there was an "airburst explosion" but he has no idea what that is (as he said himself)
Holy shit Sky reports the forces defending Bab al-Azizia have given up and rebels are inside the compound firing into the air in celebration
A Reuters reporter apparently has just seen the rebels breach the compound and are firing into the air in the celebration. Apparently (according to the Reuters reporter, not rebel sources) the resistance stopped. [editline]23rd August 2011[/editline]
Holy shit Sky reports the forces defending Bab al-Azizia have given up and rebels are inside the compound firing into the air in celebration
Damn it, ninja'd
BREAKING - Loyalist Resistance to Rebel assault on Gaddafi compound has stopped...
The pentagon are saying that the rebels have control of the majority of Tripoli. [editline]23rd August 2011[/editline] US are apparently monitoring chemical weapon sites according to the BBC. I don't blame them.
Textbook case, really, see Cuba, Uganda, Iraq, Myanmar, Panama, you name it. It's a false sign of development that only ends up stagnating once it manages to tire it's own work force into rebellion.
I would definitely say that Cuba didn't go like that, since the dictator whom was originally in power has now retired and during this rule he seemed to do genuinely the best he could provide, the reason Cuba isn't as good as it should be is because the USA has been constantly trying to shit things up there and embargoed it.
BREAKING - US IS NOW MONITORING LIBYAN CHEMICAL WEAPON STOCKS NOW
1625: Al-Jazeera sources: "Rebels gain access to the home of Muammar Gaddafi inside Bab al-Aziziya compound."
This whole situation could be interesting as a RTS game.
1625: Al-Jazeera sources: "Rebels gain access to the home of Muammar Gaddafi inside Bab al-Aziziya compound."
Don't want to say this, but its going to easy. It might be a trap. Or Gaddafi has escaped via the alleged tunnels and his forces have just given up.
This whole situation could be interesting as a RTS game.
C&C: (A Rapidly Declining Number of Loyal) Generals
Reuters are now saying they can see rebels in the house it seems.
If I were Gaddafi I would have rigged the whole compound with explosives and fled through tunnels.
Rebels are saying they have taken the compound entirely.
BREAKING - REBELS HAVE CAPTURED GADDAFI'S HOUSE
Sky News made a pretty obvious point that largely debunks the "underground tunnels" theory: where's he going to escape to? Pretty much all of Tripoli is under rebel control now, unless the tunnels are hundreds of miles long he's not going anywhere Sky says the rebels have "officially taken over" Bab al-Azizia

His plane at the airport has been captured and the coast is blockaded by NATO. Even if he did get out of the tunnels he would be screwed.
