So, if Gadaffi is speaking, he obviously isn't dead.
"The west will not protect you! How can you allow for Tripoli to be burned! How can you allow this city to be destroyed! Tripoli will tomorrow be turned into a destroyed city! From Mosque you must lead the people and march! Those who understand the islam properly must go out with weapons and lead the people! There should be no fear! Those who work for the imperialists there are but a few!" Gadaffi is begging for help as much as he can.
So, if Gadaffi is speaking, he obviously isn't dead.
GODDAMN He's talking at the speed of light.
Alot of them are already in the centre and people from Tripoli are joining in. There is no army and almost no regime left.
Really? I would've expected the mercenaries and Lybian army to retreat from objectives they were losing and defend the capital and their leader. Well then it seems the rebels will have it easy this time
These 12 seconds are likely the last we hear of him
So, if Gadaffi is speaking, he obviously isn't dead.
It's a recording according to Al Jazeera
Is anyone still having trouble with the sky stream? I think I have managed to get Livestream working.
These 12 seconds are likely the last we hear of him
It won't be the last we see of him though. If the rebels catch him they will most likely cut off his head and kick it along the streets.
It won't be the last we see of him though. Most likely they'll do the same for Gaddafi
It's amazing how quickly it all fell apart in the end.
When rebels captured his son, they were ordered to keep him alive and well for the trial. Most likely they'll do the same for Gaddafi
A trial and hanging would be more satisfying than simply shooting on spot for me, personally.
Al Jazeera says that Govt forces are still holding some areas of Tripoli and are attempting to put up a defense in the city. The area around the Green Square has been captured by the NTC and the NTC reinforcment is constantly arriving via all routes towards the city. Govt Snipers might have appeared in certain buildings. Right now they're talking about events that happened along the reporters journey from the mountains to Tripoli.
shit is getting real man
Technically Tripoli has already fallen to the rebels. There is no way he will recover from this. Oh shit, this sad gmail commercial. [editline]21st August 2011[/editline] SCREW YOU HOLLIE

That show 'Treme' seems interesting. I wish they'd export it here to the U.S
I think it's time to refer to the rebels and NTC as the government and who their fighting as simply "Gadaffi fighters".
Bear in mind that Sirt is still under Gadaffi's control. Until the whole coast has been taken over by the NTC Gadaffi is still technically controlling Libya. Either way Gadaffi has most certainly lost the war. Not only his sons and his "fellow" politicians and people left him, but Tripoli also fell in one swift move and the state completely turned against his forces.
Seems a bit melodramatic. Not that the katrina disaster wasn't dramatic, but they sure know how to make money from just about anything. [editline]21st August 2011[/editline] Why do they keep repeating the same images while it should be live?
Hell of a thing for the rebels fighting for this. In 20 years, there's going to be a boy reading about the history of his country and when they go over the liberation of Tripoli, he's going to say, "Yeah, my father was there"
what are you talking about

That show 'Treme' seems interesting. I wish they'd export it here to the U.S

When rebels captured his son, they were ordered to keep him alive and well for the trial. Most likely they'll do the same for Gaddafi
Doubt they will. The rebels have been known to be quite vicious in some ways.
Hell of a thing for the rebels fighting for this.
then please quote it, that practically made no sense out of context
Ye ye, got ninja'd.
what are you talking about
An advert for a show just came up on Sky news. Also as for Sky not showing live footage at the moment, I am guessing they are trying to save batteries or can't broadcast at the moment. Their satellite gear doesn't like moving around fast.
Doubt they will. The rebels have been known to be quite vicious in some ways.
Yeah, I've heard of "death squads" going throughout Benghazi looking for anyone who even "seems" to be a Gaddafi supporter.
"Liberated"
Victors write history. Liberated.
Apparently Gaddafis eldest son has given himself up (via Al Jazeera via Twitter)
Looks like one big problem is the world is comming to a end, cheers! Lets hope history don't repeat itself.
Apparently Gaddafis eldest son has given himself up (via Al Jazeera via Twitter)
It's confirmed.
Also as for Sky not showing live footage at the moment, I am guessing they are trying to save batteries or can't broadcast at the moment. It seems live since the underlayer says they're 0.5KM away now. edit: Nevermind it's indeed an earlier report.
Apparently the sky reporter is only wearing a helmet and a vest because the bullets they are firing in the air must come down eventually and not because she is scared haha. [editline]21st August 2011[/editline]
She is in a pickup in the Rebel convoy approaching the cities main square at the moment. It seems live.
It says "latest" not "live", this is footage from earlier. She should be back soon, it seems she has just told them they are 1km away from the green square. I think she can only broadcast when the convoy is not moving or is going very slowly.
Yeah, I've heard of "death squads" going throughout Benghazi looking for anyone who even "seems" to be a Gaddafi supporter. Victors write history. Liberated.
The victors always must be the good side, since they write things to put themselves in a good light. That is until say a century or so later when they have declined to the point somebody else rewrites the history back to the other end. The rebels aren't heroes or good, but neither are the loyalists.
