That's freaking hilarious that Gabe pulled out his wallet for $3.00
Also, he's getting a bit older. Figures all the stress will net him a white beard
Valve is obviously working on something big, be it a new engine, Half Life 3 or whatever. It's obvious that they aren't just focusing full time on tf2 updates and bug fixes.
They are clearly up to something, they just haven't annouced it.
Didn't we already know this?
I think we even expected it.

Yeah, I hope Valve creates a badass engine, just like how Source was in 2003.
TF3 with new and improved hats.

That could be pinned on the HUGE Dota 2 team compared to the dozen or so on the TF2 team.
I'm so excited for this, and I'm really gonna miss Source 1
The Source engine has come so far, it's unreal.
We went from this:

To this:

In the same engine
I hope Source 2 has as much flexibility and Moddability as it's predecessor

SFM uses a very different engine to Half Life 2's

I can't even fathom how graphics can improve in such a leap as it was from HL1 to HL2.
Haha, he asks them how many of them are bronies.
I hope that when they do end up announcing Half-Life 3, the trailer starts out as a trailer for Ricochet 2.
If the new engine will be nicer than CryEngine 3 and UnrealEngine4, and would keep the system requiments as low as the old Source engine, then Valve would be the epic winner in this war...
But I don't care about graphics, I still want to play games on my shitty videocard.
Also, remember Half-Life Source? Now we get Half-Life 2: Source 2
I hope Source 2 has as much flexibility and Moddability as it's predecessor
That's probably what worries me the most. Valve games have become less and less moddable over the years. They're still moddable, but you know. Valve's been making it a little harder with each game they release.
Really stupid title, he said they're working on new engine stuff.. Well no shit, we already knew that, what else would the programmers be doing?

Valve has confirmed next to nothing for years. It's nice for them to come out and actually state they are working on stuff.

An entire new engine, not just engine stuffs.
SilverSource
Nice to have it official. Whatever the new Source ends up being, I sort of hope it retains some of the visual traces of the original Source. How a game looks is largely dependent on its art assets, but there is something about the way materials and world lighting is handled in Source often gives games a recognizable look.
I really hope soon like early 2013 or summer 2013, I can feel the excitement for a next engine.

You just brought us to the part of the video were Gabe says he has NOT yet played Black Mesa!
asdfghjkl
SFM uses a very different engine to Half Life 2's
That's the point of my post. SFM still uses Source, which looks much better than HL2, which is still the same engine
guess it's time for me to build a new computer.

Is SFM not just a built-upon Source? It's still Source regardless. Gabe said Source 2 is going to be an entirely new thing.
OP didn't link the source.
