as long as they make hammer easier to use, faster, and less likely to crash, i'll be happy
Because obviously they can't call their next engine Source 2 or something right :downs:
That would be silly and cause confusion, Ricochet: Source shouldn't be called that because it's not Ricochet on Source, it should Ricochet: Source 2.
hl3 confirmed for goldsrc
i think i'd like to see a demake of HL2 onto the goldscr engine that would own
i think i'd like to see a demake of HL2 onto the goldscr engine that would own
portal 1 / hl2 / tf2 remade in goldscr :v:
I'm so excited for this, and I'm really gonna miss Source 1 The Source engine has come so far, it's unreal. We went from this: To this: In the same engine I hope Source 2 has as much flexibility and Moddability as it's predecessor
Sure that latter was made with the source engine? Thats just a screenshot of the trailer.
Garry is going to make bank off of this. New Engine means new Gmod.
Place your bets, which game will be the first to use Source 2? I got money on Gmod. :v:
I bet my fp account its not
Garry is going to make bank off of this. New Engine means new Gmod.
I for one would admit to that. I'd love GMod on a completely new and improved engine.
i bet the new source engine is going to have euphoria-like physics in it
i think i'd like to see a demake of HL2 onto the goldscr engine that would own
why aren't we doing this
They should just release HL3 on Christmas day without any warning. Imagine the steam chats.
i think i'd like to see a demake of HL2 onto the goldscr engine that would own
Black Mesa for Goldsource Also, Half-Life 2: Episode 2: Source 2
I hope source 2 will have level streaming=no more loading screens
I remember I use to follow Gamespy for game news and stuff. And I liked their client thing because of the steam exhaust sound thing. :v:
Planet Half-Life daily screenshots. Right in the nostalgia
why aren't we doing this
A mod already tried apparently they couldn't figure out how to replace the physics stuff and it died off relatively early, all I can find remaining of it after the website went down is the original ModDB thread recruiting for it
all I can find remaining of it after the website went down is the original ModDB threat recruiting for it

the original ModDB threat recruiting for it

threat
GET ON OUR TEAM OR WE'LL THROW YOUR DOG UNDER THE BUS
Black Mesa for Goldsource
So Half-Life 1 then?
i feel like everyone in this thread (sorry about this) are hyping the shit out of HL3, aye mark my words ye' scoundrels. If you get too hyped it may end up as the same fate as Spore.
i feel like everyone in this thread (sorry about this) are hyping the shit out of HL3, aye mark my words ye' scoundrels. If you get too hyped it may end up as the same fate as Spore.
Spore's a pretty bad game even before you take the fact that it was gutted into account.
If you get too hyped it may end up as the same fate as Spore.
Impossible because Spore showed a lot of gameplay that was completely stripped away on release. The artstyle got changed to appeal to children and the game mechanics were simplified to reach a larger audience ranging from kids to adults. Not to mention the horrible DRM.
i bet the new source engine is going to have euphoria-like physics in it
Euphoria is an animation engine.
i bet the new source engine is going to have euphoria-like physics in it
Well the thing is source uses a really old version of havok physics. The new builds of havok are mindblowing.
Well the thing is source uses a really old version of havok physics. The new builds of havok are mindblowing.
Then why HL2 still has superior physics to any 2012 game?
Then why HL2 still has superior physics to any 2012 game?
to be honest, most games don't shove physics puzzles down your throat every 25 minutes. And the driving in Hl2 was shitty, the physics aren't perfect, not even close
Then why HL2 still has superior physics to any 2012 game?
Your framerate takes a dip if you stack 10 boxes on top of each other. Those sure are superior physics to any other game!
Your framerate takes a dip if you stack 10 boxes on top of each other. Those sure are superior physics to any other game!
I dunno what kind of terrible rig you're running if stacking a few boxes lowers your framerate.
I dunno what kind of terrible rig you're running if stacking a few boxes lowers your framerate.
He got some mid range previous gen gpu, don't know about his cpu. I can probably stack 100-250 boxes before it starts to go down.
to be honest i am very very glad, source is aging terribly now, especially if you want to develop for it.
Then why HL2 still has superior physics to any 2012 game?
Consoles can't handle it.
