I actually would have preferred a Deus Ex HD or Remastered Edition. Especially since I just finished playing through it.
What's the point of re-releasing a remastered edition of a game that only came out a few years ago?
Did he just have a heart attack?

I'm gonna assume he's talking about the original, so that would kinda make sense?

He could also be suffering augmentation rejection symptoms. Similar to organ rejection and that's why he's freaking out like that. You don't crawl around with a heart attack.
That Deus Ex Universe thing... Someone in the stream posted mmo.
Really hope they'd never consider doing that because a Deus Ex mmo would suck ass and they wouldn't do it right. They'd reduce it to a Call of Duty clone with some superficial RPG levelling layered over.
Deus Ex Universe is the name of the transmedia effort they are currently working on. Books, Games, Comics etc.
It is not the name of the new DX game and they've already stated its a fully fledged DX game right to the core much like HR was.
I'd be interested to know how Eidos would play a post HR sequel given how radically different the multiple endings are, you'd really have to cut off some branches.
While theoretically all of the endings could lead to Deus Ex : The First, a time between the two would be pretty unqiue based on what you chose.
I really hope if they do choose to make it in between HR - 1 they don't do what IW did and choose all 4 endings as canon. That was awful.

The original
The original
to be fair, I never played DX1 because it feels so outdated
DXHR was fantastic, and I've *tried* DX1 but holy shit
The original
Why do that when you've already got a load of mods that accomplish essentially the same thing?

DX1 is outdated and clunky and that special kind of ugly where even by old game standards it's ugly
I love Deus Ex to shit and back and think it's incredible and the scope is admirable but I won't deny it has aged like milk

like I said-- I tried to play it, but it feels way too old. At least games like Half-Life aged well, but Deus Ex... no.

Originally HR was going to focus a lot more on the segregation and more than likely lead straight up to the great collapse but the amount of shuffling that occurred during the concept phase killed that.
I argue that this is now a good thing. A game properly set during the REAL troubled period right as the great collapse came around can open so many avenues.
I still have a very small piece of hope that they'll switch up the protag this time. Make them someone on the lower end of the spectrum instead of a highly paid agent. This would give traction to really hammering in the themes right from the start and allow a lot of transitional elements for the protag as well as the world to go through.

You have to unlearn 15 years of progression in game mechanics, but it still holds fairly well. I only just beat it for the first time after seriously giving it a play through since it came out. And remember it's a stealth-RPG first, first-person shooter second.

in regards to the protag one of the issues I do have with HR's story telling is it was about a man who's skillset is completely improved by augmentation, and he is the most heavily augmented character almost in the series
It had a preinstalled bias that as the player we were already pro-augmentation because we knew Jensen was a badass who could turn invisible, using the powers gave us a feeling of power.
I'd honestly have it for the next game you start as a lower class guy like you said but instead giving us the CHOICE of how augmented we wish to be, maybe start us out with a few and then over the course of the game we can mutilate ourselves more, maybe get a dual loyalty thing going as you choose wheteher or not to sacrifice your humanity and blitz through the game or stay pure but have trouble completing sections or having things locked off entirely.

You aren't forced to use augs in HR though? It would be better if there were some real story consequences to not using augs and that has to be something they'll consider for this one, at least I hope so. Otherwise it's an obscenely huge missed opportunity.

He already has them all whether you choose to use them or not. He never has any added to him, they explain that Jensen's already got them all hardwired into his body. Whether or not you activate them Jensen still has all his limbs, eyes, and skeleton replaced.
To be honest, being augmented against his will beyond what he needed to survive is a big theme through the game
I would love to see some more Just Cause 3
To be honest, being augmented against his will beyond what he needed to survive is a big theme through the game
Not as much as you'd think. The PI gives him a ton of shit for it, the medical documents at the clinic explain he's had more than he asked for and we know that Jensen initially hated his new augs, but it's never more than that. He never even confronts Sarif on it.

I've been looking for mod's to make it look better. can't find any bside's HD.
A remaster of the Original Deus Ex and Invisible wars would be great
You need to go back and force yourself through the first level. You're one of its many victims and you're passing up a gem by doing that.
You need to look past how ugly it is and enjoy the depth cause even with Human Revolution Eidos couldn't quite match it, and the major mods out for it only make it better.
Then you've got Deus Ex Revision coming up:

I remember the Statue of Liberty level giving me a hard time years back, but when I picked it up again, it was a lot easier than I remember it being. And once the game got going, I was staying up until 6 AM playing it.
And I played through it vanilla, to experience how it was back in 2000. The basic, blocky environments have some charm to them. The only "mod" I used was a modified EXE that enabled widescreen and, more importantly, locked the framerate to 100. Otherwise the game would run super fast and be unplayable.
THEY JUST TOOK HIM FROM THE CELL AFTER HE TRIED TO COVER THE CAMERAS HOLY SHIT
edit: back to the loop
If it is Deus Ex, I know someone who wouldn't be too thrilled.
