Man is repeatedly jailed for refusing to wear clothes

Population is out of control enough as it is, everyone strutting around naked will only make things worse :v:
Suprised to see so much of facepunch is okay with public nudity, I can't really see any good coming out of letting people do it.
Suprised to see so much of facepunch is okay with public nudity, I can't really see any good coming out of letting people do it.
but on the flipside I can't see anything bad
so what the hell ever

I can't really see any bad coming out of letting people do it either.
Supermarket chains would love legalized public nudity:
Man with World's Biggest Penis™ walks by- "OMG, I gotta get some hotdogs!"
Hot chick passes by in produce section- "A nice melon would hit the spot."
Woman breastfeeding baby, naked- "We're running low on milk."
Some hygiene challenged guy walks by- "That reminds me, we need to buy some more toilet paper."
And so on...
I actually can't believe you are all up for public nudity. It really isn't hard to think of a reason why it's a bad thing. It's a matter of sanitation, not to mention just general public safety. There are some sick perverted people out there, do you really want to give them free reign to walk around wherever they want in the nude? Yeah here's a bunch of naked guys hanging around your local park, I'd really want to take my kids there. Would you eat in a restaurant full of naked people? I sure as hell wouldn't. What about the body hair, that's disgusting, there's no way in hell I'd ever eat my food near those people. I'm sure you all heard the saying "No shirt, no shoes, no service". There's a reason why they have this policy.
I imagine you all are just thinking about the hot girls that will get nude. Even if they do is this really the best idea? It just seems dangerous. Having hot chicks walk around nude sounds great, but it would do way more harm than it would any good. What about people who are working? Let's say you have this dangerous job to do and the safety of you and your fellow co-workers lays on your shoulders, and then some naked bimbo comes around and then all the sudden all eyes are on her. Safety is no longer a concern. I remember some kid at my school sanded his finger prints off on a machine because he was staring at some chicks ass as she bent over.
You are all up for it, you want people to "grow up it's just skin", but who does this really benefit? What does society really gain from letting everyone walk around naked? Only people seeking a sexual thrill of some sort, and people just straight up sexual offenders would ever wander around completely naked. People would do it for all the wrong reasons not because they want to feel "free" or some bullshit. Clothes were created for a reason and they serve a purpose. There's a time and place for everything, and there are reasons why people can't just walk around nude. Hell, if you want to be naked in public so bad, there's already designated places for you to go do that.

If a complete stranger walked up to you all sweaty, took off all his clothes underwear and all, would you wear his clothing? I really doubt anyone would want to do that. Why? Because it's fucking disgusting. In public we have to share everything. These are things like seats on a bus. I would never sit in a seat knowing that a hundred strangers had their dirty bare asses rub and sweat all over this chair. It's not because it's "Icky", it's because it's straight up unsanitary and it literally benefits no one. I don't know if you've noticed but your body produces some pretty gross shit.

It's not like I'm saying you should have free reign to piss and shit all over everything, but outlawing nudity is a pretty immature way to do things.
You're missing the point. People's bodies are unsanitary, you can't argue that. I don't want to be around people who can't have the courtesy to respect other people's personal space by not walking around naked. Also like I said before, if you really want to be naked in public, there are places for you to do that already. There's no reason for someone to walk around wherever they please in the nude.
In urban areas I can see why being naked wouldn't be allowed on buses or other public transportation (confined spaces) but this dude is just walking around in rural areas so who really gives a shit
Your sweaty ass is no more unsanitary than your sweaty arms, should we ban t-shirts?
My sweaty arms are just one small contained area though, I can keep them out of the way of people. It's different when it's someone's entire body.
Your sweaty ass is no more unsanitary than your sweaty arms
That's not even remotely true. Have you heard of poop before?
Guys, you're forgetting the main reason for clothes. TEMPERATURE
Too cold? loltinypenis but also a health risk in many parts of the world
Too hot? You're sweating all over public utilities.
You don't go through all the effort of changing people's minds about public nudity because "there's no reason not to".
I can totally see him wrestling with the wildlife.
I'd be afraid to fight wildlife at all if I was naked, especially escaping because the dick and balls are so goddamn sensitive I'm afraid they'll get permanently damaged somehow if I'm running through the woods for dear life. At work I almost dropped a sun tan lotion can, I caught it and it landed right next to my dick and when it pressed against it just a small push made me about to throw up my lunch.
I'm jealous of gorilla's and chimpanzee's.

If it's inside them it's safe as far as I know.

Yes, people walking around naked is a serious sanitation concern. You should see the road after a nude bike race, there's shit everywhere! (Note: not fact, or even close)
There are some sick perverted people out there, do you really want to give them free reign to walk around wherever they want in the nude? There are undoubtedly plenty of perverted people that wear clothes, shall we ban them from existing too? Or are you just assuming being naked makes you that much more perverted. Must've been just one giant sexual perversion riot through the millenia before we developed clothes.
Then don't take your kids there. This isn't that hard. People stayed away from black people when they were looked down upon by nearly everyone, for the sake of the children. It's part of what freedom is, y'know?
I'd eat in a restraunt full of naked people. If you don't want to, then don't. I'm sure there will be countless restraunts banning naked people, just for your sort of individual far into the future.
What about the body hair, that's disgusting, there's no way in hell I'd ever eat my food near those people. I'm sure you all heard the saying "No shirt, no shoes, no service". There's a reason why they have this policy.
I have lots of hair on my legs, should I be banned from wearing shorts, or banned from going to restraunts with shorts on? I've never been banned so far. No one seems to have ever cared, in fact. It's not like hair just falls out constantly, we don't shed like a lot of animals. I mean, sure, we have the people serving food wear hair nets because dropped hairs are a concern, but there's tons of bodily debris floating around all the time that you probably haven't thought about. It gets cleaned up, big deal.
I imagine you all are just thinking about the hot girls that will get nude. Even if they do is this really the best idea? It just seems dangerous. So it's more about not learning to control one's attention, rather than a lack of clothes, since people wearing clothes apparently cause this same effect.
You are all up for it, you want people to "grow up it's just skin", but who does this really benefit? What does society really gain from letting everyone walk around naked? There are groups of nudists that live in small groups, naked. If it weren't beneficial to those people, they wouldn't be doing that. By simply asserting that no one benefits, you've managed to maintain your distorted viewpoint while saying nothing useful, congrats.
People would do it for all the wrong reasons not because they want to feel "free" or some bullshit. Clothes were created for a reason and they serve a purpose. For the wrong reasons? Huh? If being naked isn't itself harmful, then it doesn't fucking matter what their reasons are. Have you ever thought "Look at that guy, wearing clothes like he's free or some shit. What's he really up to?", because that's what you're doing regarding nudity.
Your "reasons why people can't just walk around nude" amount to saying "there are reasons why people can't just walk around nude."

I'm curious, where are you that there are places to be nude? In the US, those locations are few and very far between. It's generally outright banned, and often technically illegal even where permitted.
What exactly is your point? You just dissected what I said and then put your own misinterpretation on top of everything to make it sound like I'm saying shit I'm not. I imagine all of you standing up for public nudity would really start to oppose it if something like this were to ever actually come into fruition. My point is, more people than not don't want to be in the presence of another stranger just walking around in the nude. It's almost barbaric in a way. People have more self aware, times have changed, we came up with all these things like clothes so we can cover up and look respectful. We're supposed to be more sophisticated than just walking around naked like nobody gives a fuck. Your naked time should be to yourself or somewhere private or where it's actually accepted and the time is right. You don't have to expose yourself to the world just because you can, and most people don't want to be exposed to what they have to show. There are things that people should just keep to themselves, their naked body being one of them. The only reason you guys are for it is because it's our "freedom" and we should have the right to do what we want and that we need to break our conservative soccer mom perception on the human body. I can see where some of you are coming from but come on really? We shouldn't be privileged to everything just because we think we're entitled to it. If you guys have no other point than it's part of our freedom and we need to "grow up", you need to just stop and ask themselves for a second what they are actually saying. If we shouldn't be allowed to just do it for no other sake than we can with out any actual reason to how it benefits anyone, then is it really worth standing up for? Like really, who does it actually help to have everyone walk around naked? No one. I just can't see it helping anyone and it would probably end up doing more harm than any good. And to whatever the next person has to say about how I'm wrong and it hurts no one, my point still stands.
What exactly is your point? You just dissected what I said and then put your own misinterpretation on top of everything to make it sound like I'm saying shit I'm not.
If you disagree with my representations, please explain where my obvious exaggeration of your views is incorrect.
I imagine all of you standing up for public nudity would really start to oppose it if something like this were to ever actually come into fruition.
Nope.
My point is, more people than not don't want to be in the presence of another stranger just walking around in the nude. It's almost barbaric in a way.
The major religions of our world explicitly ban nudity, making it abundantly clear very quickly that it is to be a shame. This was not true around 1 AD, where places such as Greece did not have a cultural reversion toward nudity. I'm well aware of how some people feel, but I do not feel it is a sufficient reason to ban it outright, unconditionally.
People have more self aware, times have changed, we came up with all these things like clothes so we can cover up and look respectful.
We came up with clothes because the elements are unkind to us, or as status symbols. It's relatively recently that it's for any reason of 'decency' (or 'respectful'ness as you put it).
We're supposed to be more sophisticated than just walking around naked like nobody gives a fuck.
That's just about the worst argument I've ever heard. What is sophistication, anyway? Isn't that just following some arbitrary rule set defined as being sophisticated?
Your naked time should be to yourself or somewhere private or where it's actually accepted and the time is right.
Then do not be naked around others. I do not follow your social mores, and you probably don't expect others to do so, even if you would prefer it to be that way. Why should I be forced to follow this particular social ideal you possess?
You don't have to expose yourself to the world just because you can, and most people don't want to be exposed to what they have to show.
Freedom is the idea of doing something because you feel like it. I like freedom, it's nice. I refuse to accept freedom as an argument against freedom.
While I accept that there is a significant vocal group against nudity, and most people would probably be against it at first blush, we generally try to avoid codifying people's preferences unless there is actual harm being done. It tends to cause... problems.
There are things that people should just keep to themselves, their naked body being one of them.
See above: why should I care what you think my social values should be?
The only reason you guys are for it is because it's our "freedom" and we should have the right to do what we want and that we need to break our conservative soccer mom perception on the human body.
I like freedom. Freedom is not an argument against freedom. This has nothing to do with my mother; she's not particular interested in my nudity, and I have respected that. However, I respect a lot of boundaries among people I know that I don't expect to have to endure among random individuals (for example, bringing up the topic of religion should not be outlawed, even though I won't do it around my religious relatives).
I can see where some of you are coming from but come on really? We shouldn't be privileged to everything just because we think we're entitled to it.
The people who choose to walk around naked, obviously. You're just ignoring their feelings and desire for freedom as inconvenient to your argument.
It does hurt no one, and I like freedom.
I think you are missing the point Twipsters. Sending a guy to prison for nudity is stupid. Save prison for the real criminals, I don't want my taxes going to police locking up a bunch of harmless unwashed hippies.
And by sending nudists to prison you are doing more harm than good. You see it all the time: an innocent person goes to prison and comes out a hardened criminal.
I'm going to be totally honest. I can't really think of a logical reason for forbidding nudity that won't make me sound like a cunt.
But I really am uncomfortable with the idea of naked people being permitted to walk about.
