The kid won't be the one saying that. The Parent will. When Hawaii started providing free health care for qualified children, the Parents wound up abusing it by lying about their kids' qualifications.
Most schools already provide free food for low income families. It's not being abused. Not many people forge their income checks or whatnot so that their kid gets free food. What does making school food more healthier do about making it more exploitable?
The kid won't be the one saying that. The Parent will. When Hawaii started providing free health care for qualified children, the Parents wound up abusing it by lying about their kids' qualifications.
If a Health care program can be abused like that, what makes you think a free meal program can't?
You should of seen the last protest.
Where in the US constitution does it allow for the government to provide food for everyone?
It is expected for there to be police as evidenced in the 4th amendment.
Wow maybe we should vouch the parents more carefully then rather than just saying "whelp fuck it, some people lie, screw the kids"? Even if it gets abused, it still does much more good than bad. So a few people lie and get support they don't really need, thousands of people get support they do need.
Also it's should have or should've, idk wtf you got should of.

Glaber, Why in the name of fuck do you ignore every post that you should actually respond to, and pick out the ones that are irrelavent? Don't say you don't do this, you've done it SINCE you started on FP, all you've EVER done is this nit picky bullshit, not only that, you're "arguments" are about worthless every time.
Case in point, "You should have seen the last protest" as if protests are THE method of detecting which system is better. Your systems better Glaber? Really? How many lists is the US even NEAR the top on? Not many, not many at all, and yet you'll still insist that your failing system is THE system to go for? Seriously, i'm with Xen on this, you were raised in a fucking forest and kept from school for your entire life to develop these opinions, clearly.
Where in the US constitution does it allow for the government to provide food for everyone?
Yeah, a decent lunch back then was anywhere from 5$ to 7$, nothing to complain about considering the quality and quantity of food, and where it's from.

well that just wouldn't conveniently support his empty argument
seriously what the fuck did you grow up in a household where you were forced to eat deep fried bacon and cheese sauce sandwiches and want to force your kids to do the same or something
NO. I grew up in a house hold where my PARENTS, not my government, wanted me to grow up healthy and I was forced to eat my vegetables weather I liked them or not. My parents took the responsibility to feed me properly, not my government.
I ask you this: do you believe that you government should be responsible for taking care of you from the womb to the tomb, Cradle to Grave?

No man, don't you see? He's totally right, the chance for the system to be abused means we can't use it.
Except when it's anything the conservatives have done or allowed that has been exploited to hell and back at the cost of many americans and other nationalities, in that case, it's totally fine and SHOULD be the chosen option.

No, AND NO ONE FUCKING ELSE DOES EITHER.
Glaber, for the LAST FUCKING TIME, your argument is so empty here, no one is even arguing what you're arguing, you just have to jump to a new topic for your argument to be of ANY VALUE AT ALL. Please, shut the fuck up, or think of a real reply. Your argument here is my case and point, it's not an actual reply or argument to anything that was even said at all, it's just you going on a bullshit escapade.
TH89 renamed the thread in In The News from “CNS News, Mrs.Obama wants to decide what kids eat.” to Michelle Obama endorses healthier school lunches
Glaber, do you or your parents fit in one or more of the following:
1. Make more than 120k/year
2. Christian - Protestant
3. Live in the south or in the north/midwest

The government is trying to fucking help you dense bastard. Say your parents don't care about your health too much, and you're 7 years old. Are you going to slam the government for making their school meals being healthier?

Ok you have got to be a joke or something, you can't be this oblivious.
What about the parents that can't?
What about parents that try then send their kids to school where they eat horrible junk?
What about people that live outside of your privileged, healthy world?
Let's look at this link plainly:
Kid eats healthy at home -> Kid goes to school, eats unhealthy -> Kid eats healthy at home
Kid eats healthy at home -> Kid goes to school, eats healthy -> Kid eats healthy at home
Which is obviously better?
Or how about
Kid doesn't eat at home -> Kid eats at school
I ask you this: do you believe that you government should be responsible for taking care of you from the womb to the tomb, Cradle to Grave?
On the most basic level of survival? I believe it's the governments job to keep it's citizens healthy.

So basically you're saying that, instead of letting low-income kids get some free food, they should go without because a few people will lie?

Guys, it's official, Glaber is either retarded, or a spoiled white rich suburban kid who doesn't realize, not everyone else here is like him.

Live off the grid for a year. Post results.
"it's everybody else's fat than the fat guy's that he is fat"
"it's everybody else's fault that America is obese, not the fat people."
kids should be able to be fatasses if they want to. don't put limitations on those of us who are responsible, though. it's not our fucking fault.
in after i'm a complete retard

Ok, so let me get your string of bullshit right...
Kids who don't have parents that can teach them the right shit, should learn the right shit from themselves because the government SHOULDN'T be providing them with the education that a healthy meal is a required part of a healthy life, and shouldn't be providing them that food. So, the suffering poor kids just stay stupid and suffer more. Oh, and starves because that kid can't eat healthy food that he needs to grow up on.
Hey man, are you SERIOUSLY that fucking stupid?
The kid won't be the one saying that. The Parent will. When Hawaii started providing free health care for qualified children, the Parents wound up abusing it by lying about their kids' qualifications.

The school lunch programs already have free/reduced lunch for the poor. They ALWAYS HAVE. That was the entire reason it was created. The poor kids in the US were malnourished before this. Now it's the reverse, hence the healthy lunch bill.
Where in the US constitution does it allow for the government to provide food for everyone?
It is expected for there to be police as evidenced in the 4th amendment.
Oh dear god, are you a strict constitutionalist? Look, there's this thing called the Necessary and proper clause, which grants the national government the ability to take powers that it needs. This is used in some form for the vast majority of actions on the part of the national government for the simple fact that you can't amend the constitution every time the circumstances change. The loose interpretation covers that.
Day 1: I've done it. I'm finally free from government control and I am living in the wonderful wilderness.
Day 2: Found out I have cancer. Unfortunately, it started developing before I made my insurance claim, making it invalid. I have 3 months to live and have no right to medical care.
Day 3: Signed onto Facepunch spamming News Threads with articles damning Obama for not giving me any government support for healthcare. Why is their no Public Option!? He's damned me to die, it's his fault!

Day 4 I made a really shitty post.
This is not a fucking nanny state thing at all. This is a "Hey, our kids are fucking dying due to bad diet and bad parenting and from a shit load of other things, how can we help fix this?" kind of thing.
Jesus fucking christ, I normally don't get actually angry, but it's like you people think being poor or destitute is fucking easy. GO BE POOR, GO LIVE THAT LIFE AND THEN TELL ME THAT. SERIOUSLY.
gettin trolled, lmao
This is an incredibly elaborate trolling job then, because it's been going on for months/years.
e: I'd be fine with that though if Glaber's been a poe all along. It's much better than the alternative.

do you seriously think that this will extend into the home? because, if you do, you're an idiot, as this is just for school meals, quite obviously so, might i add.
even so, it's to eat healthy, how/why is that a bad thing? maybe you lived under a rock of ignorance, but the by and large observation is that the US has been getting fatter and fatter on average since the early 90s. the opinion, too, as people from even Canada give the US shit for its percentage of obesity.
assuming your child doesn't bring a lunch to school already, and their campus (high school) does not allow break departure, the government already controls what they can and cannot eat. so the only real difference, here, is that rather than offer shitty microwave burritos, hot pockets, frozen meals, they offer healthy food.
it seems more like you simply just have something against the obama administration, because there is literally, unequivocally, absolutely nothing wrong/bad about this. and yet, you're against it, with no actual argument other than "THE GOVERNMENT SHOULDN'T DO THIS MAAAAN THE MAN IS CRACKIN DOWN" which even that is a nonargument because, as i mentioned, the government already has such control, and has for a very long time.
