UK PM to ban WhatsApp, iMessage and Snapchat in Snoopers Charter

It's rather funny, given that anything that can be broken in one way or another, is going to be used for illegitimate purposes, and this is no exception. Cutting encryption from being allowed, will not stop rulebreakers from breaking the rules. It's a silly thing. It makes a great deal of sense to outlaw actions that directly relate to negative outcomes, but this is no such thing.
The ironic thing is that everyone is screaming for better encryption for protection of data, and the governments around the world respond by wanting to outlaw the only thing keeping that data slightly safe.
i think they will have a hard time stopping people from using it. the piracy blocks were utter useless as using google dns completely bypassed everything. i don't really think they can do anything
What ISP are you using? Virgin Media block at IP level so DNS does jack-all. Some proxy sites get blocked too.
The sites that use HTTPS and/or CloudFlare work just fine though.
Banning iMessage? Haha get the fuck out of here man.
They are also going to be banning the Geordie accent - http://newsthump.com/2015/07/04/geordie-accent-to-be-banned-under-new-data-encryption-laws/

I'm still trying to figure out what happened to Unblocked.pw. Sky usually has the decency to inform you if a site is blocked from access, but for the past few days that website does not load at all, even though it is supposed to be still up.
They are banning whispering now, as they can't understand it from 5 meters away. To talk we must pick up the nearest payphone or shout near surveillance cameras.
Somehow it never ceases to amaze me how much more involved/angry people get once they hear what actual little things in their day-to-day will suffer from certain laws or agendas, as opposed to the bigger and more abstract dangers they pose.
Not that it doesn't make sense, it does, the juxtaposition's just weirdly interesting to me every time it happens. Like when John Olliver pulled the dick pic law thing on Snowden.
The common public doesn't give a shit when you install cameras all around them and put them under 24/7 surveillance. But threaten to take away their entertainment and the shit hits the fan.
This will do nothing to protect innocent people, all it does is allow the government to add more people to their list of suspects and silent dissent.
This just proves how the terrorists have succeeded in changing our way of life through terror.
Way to go Dishface, you out of touch wanker.
Terrorists have locks on their doors, time to ban locks.
If they're stupid enough to go through with this then I guess it's a good time to remind people to move on to Telegram Messenger.
