The new Shadow Warrior is what Doom 4 should aspire to be like. Just less Japanese.
they should just ask the guys behind shadow warrior 2 to make it
I want a mix of Old and New Doom in Doom IV
Plus, DOOM is a product of it's era. Somethings just shouldn't be recreated or rebooted because the events, cultural, time period, and people that all converged to make something great are gone.
You could argue the style of game that Ut99 and Ut2004 are is similar to how DOOM played. From that, when the new UT was announced and the community is planned to be so involved, the calls for gameplay matching that of UT99 and 2004 (and by extension DOOM) was pretty damn huge.
You can't write off DOOM styled games as old fashioned or whatever it is you are implying, clearly the want for running and gunning is on a load of people's minds. If anything, a new game but styled like DOOM would be a great refresher to what seems to me to be a stagnant FPS genre where very little is done outside the box for fear of not managing to grab the Call of Duty or Battlefield crowd.
Hope you guys realize that it's just Doom...not Doom 4.

Not really relevant considering there is no official title...
I liked using the Super Shotty in RoE; you didn't need any other gun when you had that. I'm serious. The Super SHotty is so OP, the BFG is laughable in comparison
Just take the original Doom and Doom 2 games, recreate them. Add high poly models and all the post processing, lighting, particle FX bells and whistles of a modern game. Now make new maps. Maps similar to the original Doom games could be made with extreme detail because of their simplicity
And that's how you make Doom
It's not a $60 game, but it can be a great $30 game
I still play Doom with Brutal Doom, and it's better than Doom 3 IMO
Looks like Doom4´s development is doomed!
I loved Quake 4 and they also left it at a cliffhanger so it'd be better if they made a sequel to that one.
Its universe was a bit more interesting too.

What you just described is way more than what a modern game offers as Doom's levels were actually quite complex. Big budget games today generally sacrifice depth in exchange for polish. We're sort of getting to a point where a game has to have either content or presentation. There simply isn't enough time anymore to do both flawlessly. At least not in this era anymore.
