Nancy Reagan, and replace "in god we trust" with "just say no"
I'm surprised we're not replacing Andrew Jackson instead of Hamilton.
Y'know with the Trail of Tears and all.
I don't see why we are replacing anything at all on currency that's only backed by how much faith people have in it.
rosa parks is a pretty decent choice

How is gold valued
Need more Native Americans on your bills imo.

This probably wouldnt go over well. Our government and native americans do not like each other.
They should put a walrus on it. I'm just saying. They should say it's Theodore Roosevelt. They both have mustaches to match each other...
I bet you use Bitcoin.
Never used bitcoin.
How is gold valued
Who said anything about gold?
Who said anything about gold?
What do you propose then, wheat?
Feels like a cop out.
Honestly, that feels like exactly what the US would pull.
As long as it is a woman American Indian. :v:
Sacagawea
There's no decision to be made, clearly it should be Ayn Rand.

so if i don't believe in money does it lose value? is it like a fairy kind of deal?
every time you say you don't believe in the dollar there is a $1 bill somewhere that dies
Grace Hopper please shes a bad ass bitch. I want this mean mug looking at me whenever I pull out a bill:

You owe the computer your using now to this lady right here, a real programming wizard.
I'm glad that Hamilton is staying though, personally I wouldn't mind if more bills had both a man and a woman, except the $1 bill cause Washington is #1.
I'd rather have the lady who coded the Apollo mission by hand than some salty military member
If I were in charge of the US treasury, I'd make the following changes:
10: Susan B. Anthony/Eleanor Roosevelt/Sojourner Truth/Sacagawea/Betsy Ross. All of these women are important either for their contributions to civil rights, or are important cultural icons.
20: Theodore Roosevelt or JFK/Bobby Kennedy. The Kennedys really seem like a no-brainer, if not Teddy Roosevelt, who seems even more so.
I'd even go so far as to suggest Neil Armstrong, but I'm biased since Canada's notes do focus on things like our involvement in the sciences and industry as well as our politicians.
How about lady liberty? She's an icon the country has had for along time and represents a lot more than just women.
Columbia used to be a huge cultural icon and was frequently represented on things like banknotes and dollar bills. It's just kind of seen as a bit too nationalist/preachy to use it.
Everything we use as money only has value because we give it value. Money is a social construct.
Yes, it is. And with something as important as currency, you need to be really careful with your changes, because since it's value is basically a social construct, if society decides your "change" makes it worthless, then it becomes worthless. I'm in no way saying that's what's going to happen, just that it's adding an unnecessary risk.
What do you propose then, wheat?
I'm not proposing anything. I simply made the statement that if you have an unbacked currency, you probably shouldn't be changing it in a major way. All it takes is for people to not like your changes and refuse to accept it to crash an unbacked currency.

i really don't think that has ever happened because someone changed a face in a bill though
Do you even know who Grace Hopper is?
Important in history, yes, but I'd rather have a non-military female member on currency. So yea, kill me if you want, but I want Margaret Hamilton on the $10 than Grace Hopper.

The US Economy won't crash because people don't like how the dollar looks
in fact, with this beautiful woman on our 10, we might see our economy grow past chinas, gun ownership increase, and the soviet union ended... again
This probably wouldnt go over well. Our government and native americans do not like each other.
The article even says that the first woman on US currency was a Pocahontas in the 1800s, a native american woman.
There is no such thing as a backed currency. And if people refuse to accept money with a woman on it, that's their loss.
I agree with you. But a lot of people are already pissed that they are replacing Hamilton instead of Jackson. That's only going to get worse, and if enough people flat out refuse to use the bill, it has the potential to have negative impacts.
Important in history, yes, but I'd rather have a non-military female member on currency. So yea, kill me if you want, but I want Margaret Hamilton on the $10 than Grace Hopper.
I agree about the military, though I think you should know that grace hopper invented the compiler.
I think we should have more scientists on our money. We should have less of a cult around our military
How about fucking nobody?

you're getting paranoid over nothing, dude. this "risk" is so minor every other risk is offended by you calling it that
i really don't think that has ever happened because someone changed a face in a bill though
I really don't think we've ever been this politically tense (other than around the civil war) before. I'm not saying it will happen, I'm saying in the current climate, it has the potential to blow up.

I would rather Sacagawea.
I would rather Sacagawea.
Golden Dollar.
But I'd rather a scientist
Why the hell are they replacing Hamilton but not Jackson?
Why the hell are they replacing Hamilton but not Jackson?
Probably a coinflip. Ask most Americans who either person was and see what they say
