damn i've been having 6-8 beers a night for like the past 2 weeks
How exactly do you know that?
It's explained in the study.
Good thing i don't drink beer then i guess.
always wondered why people starting drinking/smoking/doing Drugs that harm your body in some way. (I'm not trying to be negative about People who use it, just a simple question)
Alchol have been around before christ.
How many have died of cancer of just drinking alchol since then? None.
I drink alchol right now, since it's friday! Heinekein beer.
Still no cancer :)

The study very much suggests that excessive alcohol consumption can lead to cancer even in the absence of other factors, and it's dangerously misleading to cite your anecdotal evidence over that of a large study.
don't worry though guys cirrhosis will probably kill you before cancer if you drink heavily :)
guys breathing more than your recommended daily intake of air could increase your cancer risk!!!
In other news I still consume 12 beers a night.
Can you honestly say you trust these figures? Especially since It's regarding something they don't want us to do.
Why do you think "they" don't want us to do it if it's not dangerous?
ill laugh when you have cancer and die while all the sober folks are having a kickass party on the moon
"Sober folks"
"kickass party"

You want to back that up with something?

Beer's good man, 'manly potion of mana'
But you can't have a kickass party since all the people that know how to actually party have died of cancer.
because ingesting large quantities of harmfull drugs makes for a good party
I'm really annoyed at this, because I like the fact that in England we drink quite a lot. I shouldn't admit it, but it makes me feel sort of smug that when you're meeting a friend it's common to just 'go for a quick pint!' and it's starting to feel like we should feel bad for this. I just don't want to end up in 20 years everyone drinking Coors Light or something and 'Just say no!' campaigns directed at alcohol.
Vape weed instead :)

coors light is like 4.5% isn't it lmao
I don't think our drinking culture is going anywhere. There's plenty of evidence to suggest drinking is terrible but it's so much more fun than anything else available in England.

prob millions due to alcohol related-diseases
Fuck it, EVERYTHING carries risk of cancer. Life has a 100% mortality rate.
This is a bullshit study.
I'm never ceasing my beer-drinking habits. I love beer.
This just in; living gives you cancer.
Living is the number one cause of death...everyone's dying a little more every day.
So, live it up and drink it down!
Live in a family of fairly heavy drinkers, I know lots of heavy drinkers. Don't know anyone that's gotten cancer.
It's all about balance of pros/cons. Depends on the probability of cancer, what kind of damages it would produce and each damage's priobability of ocurrence. Same for the other side. Probability and degree of happiness, subtracting the other unhappinesses it causes.

How is the study bullshit? What about it makes it bullshit?
How is the study bullshit? What about it makes it bullshit?
Read the few replies above.
One guy's anecdote and some people declaring their fatalism towards life and thus the lack of overall harm of consuming alcohol within that philosophy?
That doesn't affect the study's experimental technique. How does that make it bullshit?
Who the hell drinks a fucking PINT of beer anyway? EVERY DAY?
Who the hell drinks a fucking PINT of beer anyway? EVERY DAY?
It's actually good for your heart. 11-25pt. a week is healthy. Plenty of studies there.

After having my first high ever, all I can say is that it can be a lot of fun. But I never want to do it again, I seriously felt like I had no control and I don't like losing control of my own body.

That's wine, it's not the alcohol, and is heavily debated about that truth or not.
