• AT&T: Our users wanted data caps

It's obviously because the surveys told uninformed consumers that the heavy downloaders were slowing down their internet(which isn't really true) and that it would make the service faster if they imposed caps.
I fixed it, but yeah... As much as I hate Data Caps, I can't imagine how someone can go over 250GB.
250GB a person would be enough, but if you've got other people using the same connection, well, once me and two other people hit a 750GB cap in six days between us.
Maybe it's their fault that they had unlimited data plans in the first place. Trying to get customers with your UNLIMITED DATA plan only to end up going "shit, we can't do this anymore" Don't talk the talk, if you can't walk the walk

But the point is it's obvious their network isn't being slowed tremendously by heavy downloaders or more people would have noticed it. It's a dirty cash grab. Here's my question. Does AT&T offer some sort of contracted mobile internet? They can't change the details of your internet plan if you're in a contract. I'm Canadian so I'm used to bullshit caps but I know for a fact that Rogers can't change my cap or speed while I'm in contract for services.
I wrote AT&T a letter that was very similar to what he just said. I want AT&T to know where I am at, and track my internet usage and what Im using it for. Then throw a data cap on it, because its important. The ones who are using the most should pay for it i guess
lol there was an AT&T sales man at my door yesterday, he wouldn't leave despite me telling him TWICE that I wasn't interested.
Plan B: Kick him in the balls.
"Hahaha, no, you've got it all wrong, friend: our slaves asked for their shackles and enjoy their beatings."
On Facebook? That might be believable. After all, if we'd listened to Facebook Feedback for advice on how to help Japan after the Tsunamis, we'd end up bombing them again.
lol there was an AT&T sales man at my door yesterday, he wouldn't leave despite me telling him TWICE that I wasn't interested.
Should have told him that your house has a visitor cap and that he's exceeding it, then told him to wait while you printed up an invoice
250GB a person would be enough, but if you've got other people using the same connection, well, once me and two other people hit a 750GB cap in six days between us.
Skill... I run my network off three computers, three phones, and occasionaly an Xbox, and I've only got too about 100GB to 125GB usage.
Already in progress to switch ISPs
But you want the caps!!!
Already in progress to switch countries. :sweden:
Sometimes I wish I could switch planets.
250GB data cap they have
Look at my older post in another thread http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1084149-Shed-a-Tear-The-Age-of-Broadband-Caps-Begins-Monday?p=29527219&viewfull=1#post29527219
I think customers should slap them in the face by calling up customer service dept and tell them we don't want data caps. Try to overwhelm the people that do.

Where do I go to actually get the live feed of it?
Oh, also they all want to torpedo Hulu and Netflix for making their cable service obsolete.

Mark Siegel, spokesman for AT&T. "They told us that the people who use the most should pay more, and they also told us we should make it easy for them to track their usage. We think our approach addresses these concerns."
That based on customer feedback. I'm not American but that seems pretty obvious, they are bullshitting.

I'm stuck with AT&T... Only have Comcast or Clear or AT&T in my region. Clear is shit because the service they offer is wireless and is complete dicks.
AT&T is the fucking devil. Unfortunately they are the only high-speed internet provider where I live.
Sign in with the main account and go here https://customer.comcast.com/Secure/Users.aspx
Thanks and... ... That 100MB isn't sounding half bad right now.
I hope that my ISP, a local one and the only one that isn't dial-up, doesn't enact data caps.
Thanks and... [img_thumb]http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j2/meowbird0/comcast.png[/img_thumb] ... That 100MB isn't sounding half bad right now.
AT&T has lower speeds than Comcast, a lot lower, and costs more.
I only have two providers at the moment. One is decently fast, Comcast, but has the 250GB cap which I always come close to passing every month. OR I have AT&T which is terrible all around and shouldn't even be selling internet access anymore.
AT&T has lower speeds than Comcast, a lot lower, and costs more.
That's ridicilous....
That's like saying that PC gamers asked for P2P connections in MW2. [editline]4th May 2011[/editline]
they are the only high-speed internet provider where I live.
Better than Concast having an internet monopoly where you live.
Yes, AT&T, because I really wanted a 100gb cap. I wanted it so much that I made a full switch to a new ISP 3 days ago.
good thing I switched to cable long before this.
