Japan likes to disguise monsters of pure horror and power in cute girl disguises.
It happens alot.
That's cause the geeks making this shit are spiteful to cute girls for not going out with them.
Also explains tentacle hentai and so on.
Oh come on now
this is just
no
Fucking god damn it Japan, what the hell is wrong with you?! Why can't you just be normal like the rest of the countries?
Oh god this thread is going to be hilarious
Just wait till JohnnyMo1 gets in here.
He'll find a way to summon something in the real world and then get it to eat Japan.
Saya no Uta was based round Lovecraft's work, so I don't really give a shit.
I don't think an article that uses "kawaii" and other stuff simply because anime is involved is the best kind of news to be posting in In The News.
Fucking japanese, get your dirty-nerd-hands off from Lovecraft's work.
I'm going to fucking punch that person who came up with this grand idea of turning the very definion of human fear into some cheery-ass, generic japanese anime schoolgirl.
ITT: People think some Japs are recreating Nyarlathotep in some anime form, when in fact all they did was use the name.

Yeah I see that they stuck to the source material

You guys are so stupid I mean seriously it's like you're just asking for a flamewar

It's a thread about anime, of course they are.
This is why we can't have nice things.
If Lovecraft was still alive to see this, I wonder what he would do?
Also, to the guy who said that they just used the name, why would you name a anime girl after a creature spawned from hell itself?

As a reference. It's obvious this has nothing to do with any of Lovecraft's actual stories.

Or maybe it's because they're Japanese and Japanese people tend to like really weird things.

I've looked it up. "Haiyore! Nyaruko-san" is a series comedic light novels that pays homage to Lovecraft. The Nyarlathotep in the novels are not meant to be the Nyarlathotep from Lovecraft's works.
I...I...don't...
:suicide:
Lovecraft is turning in his grave due to shame.
More like you could attach him to a generator and get the new superclean energy source.
the 2 worst things lovecraftian mythology and anime combined into one
the 2 worst things lovecraftian mythology and anime combined into one
Yo, check yoself before yo wreck yoself.
Lovecraft's works were great. Just because the big words and new terms boggle your tiny wikkle bwain doesn't mean they suck. Anime, though, I won't disagree with.
Keep this from JohnnyMo's attention.

I want one.
JohnnyMo is going to flip his shit.
Can someone just show me what other Lovecraftian stuff the Japs slaughtered so I can have my daily dose of rage against weeabooism
I disagree, I really don't think Lovecraft is overrated.
He's a good author, but the whole Oh-God-some-sort-of-hideous-beast-is-coming-to-get-me-Ia!-Ia!-gets-eaten story pattern means you can't really read more than one story in a sitting. My favourite story of his is probably "Pickman's Model" which could in part be because the scary eats-the-universe monster is never encountered in the flesh.

Isn't Pickman's Model from a collaboration effort which was a tribute to Lovecraft's work? Besides that i think you guys should just calm the fuck down due to the fact the girl is not Nyarlathotep but is a mere homage :colbert:
Well at least in Hellsing, the vampire was named Alucard, just to show it's a tribute.
I wonder if Lovecraft's characters got the same treatment. Nobody would ever notice.
