It really sucks that such a good thread like this went to shit because people started to argue about drugs and how the money is not theirs or whatever.

They do harm the families, because they have to go through the pain of dealing with their addiction.

we aren't fucking talking about shit like pot, we're talking about meth and heroin. I don't know about anarchists, but I sure wouldn't feel safe if I knew that anyone could be addicted to some horrible drug that'll make them freak out and kill someone eventually.
Are you in a fucking fantasy land? People already smoke meth and heroin. People already IV that shit straight into their fucking veins. Does criminalization help them at all? Fuck no, it often makes it harder for them since their addiction is considered so taboo and wrong that they are persuaded not to seek help. It pushes people who deserve compassion and help into a criminal underground where their life and freedom is constantly at risk. These people deserve help, not the demonization of criminalization.

And I would try and grow up a little if I were you. You have such a blatantly ignorant fear of something you have no understanding of. You are exactly the same as a homophobe. You are exactly the same as a racist. It's just fashionable to be bigoted against this particular group of people.

If there were signatures, I'd make it this.
For now, it's archived in the annals of Notepad.

Good, it's true. Buy me a title if you want, because I stand by it. People shouldn't be hated because they have an addiction, just like they shouldn't be hated because they have a different sexual orientation or skin color.
I wonder what they do with the seized drugs.
Sell them to large drug cartels in 3rd world countries.
Are you serious? We are free to do nearly fucking anything with our body besides kill ourselves with horrific drugs. Yeah, the man is totally keeping us down with all the basic human rights they've denied us, such as: drugs harmful to us and those around us are banned, and... wait, thats the only one, and its not a basic human right.
Come back once you've grown out of your "FUK TEH PO-PO MAN DEY IS KEEPIN US DOWNNN ANARCHY FOREVAH MANNNN!!!!11" phase, please.
i've been destroying my body with cigarettes and alcohol since i was 14 and the government didn't seem to give a shit about that????? why is it suddenly if i want to do some drugs on their naughty no no list they start caring? and anarchy is a legitimate government philosophy you child. maybe you should grow out of your 'everything i'm told by the government is true, everything my parents told me is true, authority figures are infallible' phase because frankly that phase is far more detrimental than any anti-authority ones.

and don't you guys see the problem with the police force, an entity that has a long history of abusing it's power, being able to seize money for their own needs? and here's my suggestion for what to do with money gotten from these kinds of things, how about pump it into educating people about the effects of drugs? (EDUCATING not DARE scare monger bullshit) then allowing them to make their own choices? and how about rather than using jail as our answer to drug addiction we put the money into (optional)rehab clinics and health facilities to treat people with drug related health problems? all that beefing up the police will do is continue the cycle of crime and punishment that will never ever end with this approach
Enough with this drug debate.

why? it's interesting and relevant to the article. if you've got a problem with people discussing it go to a different thread.
This is so irrelevant to the OP; you go to a different thread. I like my thread.
how is it irrelevant? people are talking about whether or not it's right for the police to use seized money to pay for more gear, and if they don't think the reason for the money to be seized is correct then that affects the issue of that money being used by the police.

There's more than just a drug issue here. I'm interested in how they can take the cash from white collar crimes. Over here they return the money to the victims, they don't just buy a new car.

that's a good point, wait what are white collar crimes? that's like, sleazy bank kinda stuff right? and is blue collar crime a thing?

White-Collar is just a term used for large fraud schemes (generally)
