Spider-Man appearance in Captain America : Civil War - "A done deal" report
A source told Screengonzo that Sony Pictures co-chairman Amy Pascal and Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige will meet in January to discuss the future of "The Amazing Spider-Man" in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, or MCU. The said meeting will reportedly take place at Pinewood Studios, where "Avengers: Age of Ultron" and "Captain America: Civil War" are believed to have been filming. No further details were provided, but sources said some "good news" will be revealed sometime in February. Likewise, Feige is said to be pleased with where his deal with Sony Pictures is headed.
How the superhero will be featured into the MCU remains uncertain. However, according to the source, one plan is for Spider-Man to make an appearance at the end-credits scene. According to Screengonzo, it would make sense if the character will be featured in "Captain America: Civil War," since the film is scheduled for filming sometime in February or March. It coincidentally links to the mentioned release of the good news in February.
HNGN also thought it's likely for the superhero to be introduced in "Civil War." The movie's directors, brothers Joe and Anthony Russo, will also reportedly helm the sequel. According to Screengonzo writer Josh Johnson, the directors will also "tackle a new Spider-Man trilogy, taking on directing and writing tasks." "They don't have anyone cast yet, but they certainly have a list of potentials they are going over once the deal is done," he said, adding that Marvel is already looking at a list of possible candidates to be the next Spider-Man.
However, it's still uncertain if "The Amazing Spider-Man" will really make an appearance in "Captain America: Civil War." Sony and Marvel have yet to confirm the reports. According to Johnson, the source is the same person who provided the confirmed details of Vision's look in "Avengers: Age of Ultron.
I heard it wasn't happening so this is different.
If it does happen, drop Andrew Garfield and bring back Tobey Maguire. Garfield was a horrible miscast for Peter Parker.
I have a feeling Civil War is going to be awful. The sides people chose in the comic were just dumb.

totally ignoring personality or acting skills, Toby is too husky imho, Andrew has the perfect body shape for spider man
I'm not sure which I like better though.
I'd rather a Miles Morales Spiderman than Garfield's spiderman

Tobey can get fit. Changing what's inside is a bit harder.
He might be too old to pull it off though.
Prefer it without spiderman tbh, really not keen on him as a superhero. Then again maybe i've only seen the films, none of which i liked really.

Tobey is too fit, is the point, he's too broad, not slender enough etc

He could always do some Christian Bale shit

Garfield plays a better Spider-Man, Tobey Maguire plays a better Peter Parker.
Neither of them fit in the theme and aesthetic of Marvel Studios because they're unable to deliver a middle-ground performance. Maguire just goes full-on pants on head retarded and Garfield plays it way too seriously.
They need to cast a third actor that can actually balance out the humor and the serious like every other actor that was picked for Marvel Studios films.
If anything they could still cast Maguire since by the time Civil War happened in the comics, Spider-Man was in his thirties, assuming he can tone down his acting a bit.
I think Grafield is a better actor for Spidey but he's in bad movies (I think his stutter acting was minimal in TAS2 though). Still, him and Tobey weren't ideal for my vision of Peter.
When I hear Captain America and Civil War I like to imagine Captain America fist-fighting a Southern version of himself with a sweet muttonstache named Colonel Confederacy

That would be good, if Peter Parker was a smart ass teenager... which he's not. Peter's most defining feature is how his social life sucks.

No Pete's meant to be an asshole nerd who was an outcast but had a quick temper, not a whiney, mopey, quiet nerd.

Stop right there! Gents! We have a movie!
Marvel, you heard him, GET TO WORK! :v:
I wouldn't be surprised. Sony needs money now that The Interview is off the table and they've got plenty of other issues. Hell, Disney could possibly leverage this whole thing and get the entire IP back if they play their cards right, people just don't care about Sony's Spiderman movies.

Maguire can pull off the sarcastic spidey jokes a lot better then Garfield. Where as Garfield was slinging jokes every few seconds in a really forced and over exaggerated demeanor, with Maguire he doesn't throw them around as much but when he does it feels natural and actually witty.

Make it happen Marvel.

andrew's good, imo it's the script that's shitty

Peter Parker was a nerdy social outcast. Tobey Maguire pulled that off perfectly. He was a great Spiderman because he was an unlikely one. Go and watch the first Sam Raimi Spiderman and tell me he doesn't have personality as Spidey.

"That's a cute outfit. Did your husband give it to you?"
And considering how Civil War is more of a serious story anyways, you don't even need that many snappy lines and taunts.
Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker was some hipster who put his hair up, wore his dad's glasses for really no reason, and skateboarded. Basically the polar opposite of what the character is.

Two reboots in less than like 2 years?
Just don't let Sony decide, and everything will be fine.
(The best scenario - take rights on Spidey and Fantastic Four back to Marvel)

spidey plays a big role in the comic event. [sp]he's the first hero to unmask himself publicly on the side of the pro-reg people, and villains start hunting down aunt may and mj which causes spidey to turn anti-reg.[/sp]

how about exchanging the heads of tobey maguire and andrew crapablefield? its the 21st century for fucks sake
Wasn't the Oscorp logo supposed to turn up in one of the Marvel films, until bureaucracy stopped that happened?
I'm forever biased towards Tobey's portrayal for being the center piece of things like this.

this makes me sad since the guy that played spidey now is really really good and can do more than one emotion (not like toby miguire), i'd really love to see him continue on as spider man, even as the last movie was garbage, the casting for the amazing spider man was really good even if the story was terrible
