I always wanted to see Topher Grace play spider man
spidey plays a big role in the comic event. [sp]he's the first hero to unmask himself publicly on the side of the pro-reg people, and villains start hunting down aunt may and mj which causes spidey to turn anti-reg.[/sp]
I was about to say this myself. The Civil War is centered around Spiderman and the moral dilemma of which side to be on.
This is amazing news. I loved Garfield as both Parker and Spiderman, I thought he was a great casting choice. But Sony totally didn't know how to build a good universe/story for him. It'll be sad to see Garfield go, but like I said in the Marvel thread, losing Garfield is fine with me if it means we're going to get Parker in the MCU. Also they still haven't started filming IIRC so the rumor that black panther is getting Spiderman's position if he can't be used could stay a rumor. Also Miles Morales shouldn't be the spiderman they use if they're going to be doing Parker's storyline in the Civil War.
I'm forever biased towards Tobey's portrayal for being the center piece of things like this.
whoa, people posting my video. Nice
I read this quote from another article, don't know if it's true or not
Recent emails have shown that Andrew Gumpert, the President of Worldwide Business Affairs and Operations for Columbia Pictures, has told Amy Pascal, Sony Entertainment Chairman, that if the deal is to go through then Marvel would have Spidey cameo in Captain America: Civil War, and not have him play a major role. About his cameo, Gumpert said that Tony Stark would recruit Spider-Man and give him a suit (IRON SPIDER!). He would also meet Black Widow and, of course, Captain America. THAT'S NOT ALL! Marvel also want the wall crawler to appear in Avengers Infinity War Parts 1&2!! In order for this to happen, Marvel want Sony to guarantee that a standalone Spider-Man movie would be released in 2019 meaning that Spider -Man will kickstart the fourth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
source: http://moviepilot.com/posts/2014/12/19/sony-leaks-reveal-that-spider-man-will-kickstart-marvel-s-phase-4-2525962?lt_source=external,manual so could: [thumb]http://media.comicbookmovie.com/images/users/uploads/10300/article-0-13D3474C000005DC-996_468x644.jpg[/thumb] actually happen minus Garfield!?
Peter Parker was a nerdy social outcast. Tobey Maguire pulled that off perfectly. He was a great Spiderman because he was an unlikely one. Go and watch the first Sam Raimi Spiderman and tell me he doesn't have personality as Spidey.
Peter is a nerdy, social outcast. Spiderman is a cocky asshole. The personality change and confidence booster is entirely only when he's in uniform-- it being present in nearly all cases, obviously the heavy personal loss you portrayed removing that 'invincibility' feeling from him for a bit. When Peter first got his powers, you can see him continuously beginning to get more and more cocky, almost using them exclusively to his own advantage at first-- up until he decides to do the whole superhero thing.
Ive always thought of the whole Tobey Macquire and Andrew Garfield thing as them potraying different eras of Spider-Man, Macquire plays the bigger, more dorky, original 70's and 80's style Spider-Man, but Garfield plays the more edgy, dickhole 90's-now Spider-Man. [editline]19th December 2014[/editline] Seriously, Spider-Man used to be fucking jacked.

He's not nearly as dorky as the old Peter Parker (the guy skateboards and shit), and I really don't remember him getting picked on by anyone but Flash in the movie. With Maguire's Peter, you had people spitballing him, actually yelling and laughing at him, all that. Hell, even the school bus driver got in on it at the beginning of the movie.
Miles Morales should never be Spiderman in movies because outside of those who actually read the comics, Peter Parker is the only Spiderman to everyone. [editline]19th December 2014[/editline] On the other hand, I wish none of these guys were in Cap 3 any more than as cameos because this is just turning Captain America 3 into another Avengers movie without the title of it. I want a Captain America movie, not an Avengers movie titled as Captain America.

[t]http://static.comicvine.com/uploads/original/12/123644/2867907-2731807__spider_man_no_more.jpg[/t] dude had no interest in the later late 80s and 90s spider-man which is also why he hated the idea of having venom as a villain. i'm sure sony wanted webb to take a more modern approach to spider-man to differentiate the tasm movies from the original. i think i remember spider-man getting a slimmer and lean look when mark bagley took over. todd mcfarlane drew a buff as fuck spider-man. How about Jake Gyllenhaal
I would actually be ok with Topher Grace playing Spiderman
If all else failed, they could've always just included Spider-Gwen in Spidey's place. Wait, how does that rights handling stuff work? Do they just have the rights to Spidey and the classic cast, or do they get the rights to all the newly created stuff, too?
Gonna throw in my vote for Donald Glover as Spiderman :v:
totally ignoring personality or acting skills, Toby is too husky imho, Andrew has the perfect body shape for spider man I'm not sure which I like better though.
Id rather have actually nerdy relatable true to character spiderman than socially awkward hipster spoodyman and gets the girl in .5 seconds
