You do realize why we wrote the Constitution the way we did, right?
The Constitution was designed to be timeless and moderately adaptable after the massive failure that was the Articles of Confederation.

WHooohooo it just passed.
I am not fighting this battle to be right, i am fighting to refine my debating skills and develop my ideas for future debates. If I was as spineless as you I would go along with what ever he said as if i was ignorant to the truth.

Yes, I'm spineless, and ignorant. That's totally the case here. I don't go along with Lanklist because I'm spineless or ignorant you tard. I generally agree, while often disagreeing with him because we share similar views. Get your head out of your own ass.
Zen hang yourself in your closet. Bill passed, no point in living anymore. SOCIALISM SOCIALISM SOCIALISM SOCIALISM
I wonder how many Tea Partiers will be first in line for health insurance subsidies a few years from now. The ones who aren't already on Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, or Welfare that is. As of the signing of the bill their children will be protected from getting dropped if they get sick, so I guess they'll owe their children's lives to that socialist government takeover.
so I guess they'll owe their children's lives to that socialist government takeover.
I don't think you realize how creepy that sounds.

There tea party diabeetus is gonna kick em in the ass with a footfull of irony
I don't think you realize how creepy that sounds.
Heh, true.
But, still, the Tea Party nutters have been given the same protections by this bill that everyone else has gotten. That means they'll owe their lives to this legislation if their insurance company covers them when it otherwise would have coughed up an excuse to drop them.
I'd just like to point out that you guys make it sound like a bad thing that you pay less money if you get sick and need help. It's not like they're forcing you to kill yourself, if anything, they're forcing you to get better.

The old white folks protesting this "socialist takeover (hurr durr)" are the ones already enjoying the benefits of socialized medicare and fail to realize that the bill that was originally trying to be passed is in the same vein.

"Socialized medicine is evil. Don't cut Medicare!"
"Keep your government hands off my Medicare!"
I wonder if this many people complained this loud when Canada first got socialized healthcare.
The insurance companies need to be kept in line because the only thing they care about is maximizing profits, but these bill give the federal government more power which is a just a bad idea.
I wonder if this many people complained this loud when Canada first got socialized healthcare.
When Tommy Douglas and the CCF implemented it for Saskatchewan there was a lot of controversy.
Rarely when you pass such social policy will it go smoothly. When PM Pearson tried to get it implemented nationally, there seemed to be less of an issue because of how it played out in Saskatchewan.
But let me point out, what they've passed isn't "socialized" or at least what people associate with European or Canadian forms of healthcare.

If so they're quiet now.
Whole bunch of liberals in here.
Well there are flaws in the Canadian system, but nobody wants to fuck with it.

Interestingly, Tommy Douglas was also voted the "greatest Canadian" though a nationwide poll held by the CBC. The vast majority of our country loves our healthcare system.

I've never talked to a Canadian that didn't want to keep it, or loved it out right.
Unfortunately there were states were such programs were tried. States like Massachusetts and Hawaii. It failed in Hawaii, and the people in Massachusetts voted in someone who ran as some one who coud stop the bill, even though the bill got passed.

These health programs may be functioning in other countries, but it doesn't work in the US
How did it fail in Hawaii? I'm pretty sure they have socialized medicine right now that works fine.

It has far from failed in Hawaii. It has been in place for 40 years, and it works wonderfully according to just about every Hawaiian.

We have bankrupt states that can't pay for it. Last I knew California had to issue I.O.U.s. You can't provide health care if you can't afford it.
