How do you know something won't work if you haven't tried it?
Doesn't seem like it was working all that well in Massachusetts, otherwise they would have voted for someone other than Scott Brown. And if we're going to try something like this, how about we get a more competent government and our budget under control? We wouldn't want to botch this up now would we?
No Coakley was a fucking idiot, that's why Brown got voted in.

The people's republic of Britain, the mighty communist country, also have the kind of healthcare that they are trying to achieve. As you can see, the Government controls our healthcare, and thus we are entirely socialist. I think it's ridiculous that all these middle class white people, the majority christian, are complaining that they'll have to pay more taxes in order to help the poor. If you simplify the situation, they are essentially refusing to help the poor, despite that being one of Jesus Christ's most important principles. What's worse is that they're doing this [i] in the name [/i] of Jesus Christ. Now I'm not going to preach anything to anyone, but I think they're being massively hypocritical . [editline]03:39PM[/editline] Also I wish people would stop believing fox. They're wrong about nearly everything, and are unreliable to the extreme.

There's a book called Life of Pi that helped me to realize that. It talked about how people get all hyped up about what they think are abominations: gay marriage, for example; and ignore the things that are actually abominations: homelessness, poverty, starvation, the poor. It does a better job explaining it than I do, but I've met very few Christians who are even close to as charitable as their faith says they should be.

[QUOTE=Uberman77883;20888050]People who can afford coverage get the best healthcare in the world. People who live in countries with universal healthcare get shitty coverage and have to wait weeks for things. People don't realize this. I mean, I want everybody to be insured but we shouldn't fuck up a good system just for a small group of people (15%, most of them are illegal immigrants to be painfully honest)[/QUOTE] lol, uberman you have no idea what you're talking about, it's hillarious [editline]07:13PM[/editline] [QUOTE=FacepunchZen;20888054]God help us if this bill passes.[/QUOTE] I was under the impression god was supposed to like good things [editline]07:15PM[/editline] [QUOTE=FacepunchZen;20888146]Forcing people to have health coverage sounds like socialism to me.[/QUOTE] Oh, really? sounds pretty good to me [editline]07:21PM[/editline] [QUOTE=Lankist;20888314]You're forced to have police come to your door if someone shoots you to death. You're forced to have a fire put out by firemen if your house catches on fire. Socialism.[/QUOTE] fuckin commies [editline]07:22PM[/editline] [QUOTE=FacepunchZen;20888336]Socialism encompasses all parts of government. Now you are just changing the argument. [editline]10:10PM[/editline] They get fined or put in jail buddy.[/QUOTE] In the magical fairy tale land of facepunchzen [editline]07:24PM[/editline] [QUOTE=FacepunchZen;20888381]Anarchy cannot work by itself, but combined with a democratic (Anarcho-Democracy) or communist (Anarcho-Communism) it insures more than any other system that government (which is a necessary evil) does not infringe on the people's liberties.[/QUOTE] Anarcho-communism doesn't really exist... and government is not exactly evil, unless you count the FDA as being evil [editline]07:25PM[/editline] [QUOTE=FacepunchZen;20888405]Socialism is a FORM of GOVERNMENT, yes it may be an IDEA but in this context we are talking about a governmental system. This bill would put us farther towards a socialist form of government.[/QUOTE] you're just silly [editline]07:27PM[/editline] [QUOTE=FacepunchZen;20888749]I am not fighting this battle to be right, i am fighting to refine my debating skills and develop my ideas for future debates. If I was as spineless as you I would go along with what ever he said as if i was ignorant to the truth. [editline]10:36PM[/editline] Call me an ignorant hick, that only gets my cock harder.[/QUOTE] if you debate like this, well... just give up [editline]07:29PM[/editline] [QUOTE=JDK721v2;20890576]The insurance companies need to be kept in line because the only thing they care about is maximizing profits, but these bill give the federal government more power which is a just a bad idea.[/QUOTE] I agree, giving government more power always fails like in sweden, or denmark, or communist france [editline]07:31PM[/editline] [QUOTE=Glaber;20891790]Unfortunately there were states were such programs were tried. States like Massachusetts and Hawaii. It failed in Hawaii, and the people in Massachusetts voted in someone who ran as some one who coud stop the bill, even though the bill got passed.
