I'll just wait til there is official confirmation that this was true. I still remember Marathon Bombings and how great internet detectives were then.
Yes, well, there's a difference between internet detectives and detectives investigating something on the internet.
I haven't seen the video, but honestly why make a fake video like this? Like what's the purpose? Framing yourself as a kidnapper and rapist? Just weird as all hell. Then again, weird people do exist. Either way, we're probably gonna find out fairly soon - if it's fake, he'd probably want to clear his name.
If there is no context the video can be easily perceived as dark comedy. "Hey I found this gf and took her home... oh I kidnapped her haha". I've seen much worse on youtube when it comes to poor jokes.

The video seems to be too self aware for it to be real. Let's hope he's just good at dark humor.
I don't believe that imgur link for a second. There's nothing conclusive about it at all.
Yyyyeah, I'm not feeling it. There's a lot of things that feel too "off" for it to be real. First of all, the main guy (Patrick) comes off as kind of... badly acted? Like, he seems intentionally insane. It's like a stereotype of a crazy person. For the second part of the video, in the basement, it just feels "set up"? Especially with him taking a large, menacing step into the room and shutting the door behind him. I think, if it is fake, they were going for dark humor - it's the idea that this guy "found love" and describes it in detail only for it to be "oh, he actually kidnapped her". I feel like I've seen that kind of joke before, but usually just in text-form? I dunno. It's a good thing it's being investigated anyway. No point in taking risks.
I don't believe that imgur link for a second. There's nothing conclusive about it at all.
What are you trying to say? There's nothing to "believe" in that imgur since there are no concrete conclusions, merely analysis. Of course there's nothing conclusive about it. All the stuff provided in that link are true though (missing person, clothes description). Could be just a really unfortunate coincidence but who knows right now.
What a coincidence that the spooky part of the video is at a fitting dutch angle Maybe the kidnapper was a movie director, uh?
It's awkward cause with the size of YouTube then the possibility of something like this being uploaded is a good possibility, and hell I have even found a few obscure creep channels too. Just consider it amazing that someone put together the pieces.
first the person who went 'public' with that should've gone directly to FBI/Interpol and professionals handling cases like abduction ... not brag about it on internet ... cause if that was real suspect he would be now on run ... and if the victim was still alive then that would incerase risks and dangers toward something terrible may happen ...

And a terrible thought, but after 7 years you have to remove belief in the victim's mortality, because the sad fact is he could have killed her years ago. At this point, this should be a manhunt to find this guy and get any relevant information from him.
that video just seems way too cheesy to be real
You ever heard the one 911 call, probably not actually 911 because they were all speaking spanish but i digress, little girl is calling for help while a burglar kills her mom? Thats up there.
Oh fuck dude that was buried deep in my mind, why did you have to bring it up? That was truly heartbreaking.

The whole thing might as well be someone rolling their face on the keyboard.
This is some creepy pasta-esque shit
The video actually felt sort of disturbing
I've read a lot of posts over at r/Letsnotmeetagain, seen a lot of people dying in accidents (Which actually made me even more careful when driving or handling stuff), seen corpses in the highway here in Argentina, read about some fucked up stuff in the news and so on. Nothing of that disturbs me or makes me feel...uneasy, anymore. But you know, I can't bring myself to hear the audio of that video. After seeing the gif in Imgur of the guy opening the door...it's....it's fucked up. Imagine being raped and held captive for 7 years by that guy. Being release wouldn't mean anything. That woman must be completely devoid of her personality. All that time lost...Jesus..... And at the same time it make me extremely angry at that the notion that it could happen to anyone who I know, or even myself.
man you haven't seen shit if you think that video is bad
I'll just wait til there is official confirmation that this was true. I still remember Marathon Bombings and how great internet detectives were then.
This shit has happened well before the internet, too. Take a look at the 1996 Olympics bombing, too. A guy who arguably saved hundreds of people from getting injured all of a sudden is the prime suspect in the investigation and endures years of harassment for something he had no involvement in.
I personally think this video is bullshit. I saw it originally on ScareTheater:
Creepiest part of the video is when he storms into the room almost violently and the video cuts. It's horrifying.
Completely fake. Woman and man are both actors that make little stupid skits. [editline]12th October 2016[/editline] The woman actress friend of his also has her own channel referencing the "Walter" character/actor. https://www.youtube.com/user/HotAssGamer/videos

This is just a case of someone who was desperately hoping to find their lost relative seeing connections that simply weren't there, and jumping to conclusions without doing even a minutia of research that would lead you to this channel. I wouldn't say their content is great, but I do feel bad for them, and honestly, this doesn't bode well for internet ARGs and creepypastas in general, as with more people watching Youtube and taking interest in "creepy things," more people will think the content may be real and make a big fuckus. [editline]12th October 2016[/editline] My automerge.
Yep, not surprised at all. Oh well, on to the next story.
Oh thank God, now I feel better.
Now all the people who were hesitant to watch the video can go watch it with the peace of mind that both actors are safe and sound.
This is yet another case where I extremely distrust internet detectives. Depending too much on circumstantial evidence and jumping on conclusion. Sure, if you find something very suspicious then report to police but don't do your own investigation and especially not reveal it to public.
thing is... after the luke magnotta thing you just dont know what to think any more about these things.
Kudos to the creator I suppose
Always funny to see the aftermath of the work of internet investigators, nothing's as amusing as mixing conspiracy theorists with droves of gullible people
