Remember kids, keep a fire extinguisher in your house. Also don't start a fire indoors then feed it with cardboard boxes.
On apartment buildings, at least one fire extinguisher per floor should be mandatory. They ain't that expensive, anyway.
Whilst the guy is a complete fucking idiot and had no common sense, I can't help but feel bad for the fucker. Likelihood of him having his stuff insured (he's stupid enough to start a fire like that, I doubt he's smart enough to get insurance on his apartment contents) is slim to none, which is sad cause he's lost all his stuff. But then, so have all the other innocent people who lived in the apartment. God damn what a dumbass. I'd have risked burns to make sure it didn't spread, or at least shove my mattress onto it and suffocate the flames.
On apartment buildings, at least one fire extinguisher per floor should be mandatory. I'd say he should of run for that but given his actions up until then, it was probably a lost cause.
The guy's an idiot but he's also left video evidence of himself causing massive property damage that's left a LOT of people homeless thanks to him. Like he's probably ruined his life now. Thankfully no one got killed.
Except someone did die

According to this comment, no one died in this fire, the woman in question died in a different fire and someone was mistaken.
?
?
Somehow missed that, well that's even better then
Yes, according to a news source here there were only injuries from burns. [editline]5th October 2015[/editline]

This video is NOT the fire. It has absolutely nothing to do with what happened in OP video, is just a fire that coincidentally happened same day. Usual gullible people...
Man cut him some slack, the guy was clearly panicked. People do dumb things under pressure.
People do stupid stuff under pressure, but honestly fire prevention 101: don't have your entire house filled with cardboard boxes and loose paper. That guy's entire room may as well have been made of matches, the second an open flame got loose there really wasn't an isolated place to put it out because there was flammable junk everywhere Not lighting cheap matches indoors is also just a good rule of thumb
What an absolute moron no common sense, natural selection came for him on that day unfortuantly someone else died
What an absolute moron no common sense, natural selection came for him on that day unfortuantly someone else died
Someone died, but not to the fire this guy caused. It was from a completely unrelated fire.
fucking hell with the comedy of errors that he made you'd think he's done it on purpose. Not onyl does he lgiht somethign flamamble around where all of his supplies are, the throws the match onto the cotton, throws the thing thats on fire right next to more flammable stuff. Fucking hell. I make sure to do my refilling well away from anywhere there I'm going to light the damn thing.
To be honest, it started with him having a lighted cigarette while working with lighter fluid.
That live stream was heat
I have one of those lighters, you have to be careful with it or you spill lighter fluid everywhere. [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1968768/IMG_1334.JPG[/t]
Why would anyone have such a thing?
Why would anyone have such a thing?
Waterproof. Designed for camping etc
How can you be so shitty at killing the fire when all you need to do is suffocate the flames and make no air reach it, he was literally making it worse
Seriously. Oh a small fire. If nothing is instantly available, rip off your shirt/pants and throw them on it. Run to the kitchen/bathroom, get a couple wet rags, and then throw some more on it. Unless you instantly have a raging inferno, it's very simple to contain a small fire by just smothering it, and cotton is not very flammable.
This is fucking painful to watch.

[t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1968768/IMG_1334.JPG[/t]
tbh its sad that someone so dumb with fire would own something thats a fire hazard it's also sad that it's easy to see that he probably wouldn't have even have known HOW to use an extingquisher [editline]6th October 2015[/editline] I watched it again he actually left the cardboard he was snuffing the fire with ON THE FIRE giving it EVEN MORE FUEL
