When I was 16 last year, I had the vocabulary of a 25 year old. I'm almost 18 and it has expanded. In spite of this, I still have difficulty with past, present, and future tenses as well as speech tags.

Oh and I'm part of the Australian minority. (The teenagers who should be as smart(er) as/than their age)
even in university we had people who had extreme trouble reading
I don't hold it against them since we were like a small family, but some of them could hardly read the scripts we got and got outclassed in their own language by a czech girl
I'm a huge reader, my dad was too. In year two i was reading the Deltora quest while some people were still struggling. I read stupidly fast too. I used to read a book every day, but now, not so much. I have never read something i have trouble with either. In my english class, afaik, ~6 other people can read a paragraph aloud without too much trouble. Others trip and stumble. I had to read The Magician (Good book, i recommend it highly) and was depressed when it took me a week to read it. I read much slower now. I hate that.
