Creationist teachers hijacking science teaching in Australia

Why don't they start teaching that the Earth is on the back of 4 elephants and a turtle while they're at it...
They shouldn't make it so parents have to opt out. Children should be forming their own ideals, not the ones their parents force upon them. I can imagine if it was Arabic reglions being taught the parents would form a shitstorm.
I went to a Aus catholic primary school (I don't believe in any of it though..) but they weren't fucking insane like that. In year 6 the teacher told us all the stories about Jesus weren't real. :v:
Australia has lizards and stuff like that, why do they even need religion?

What should be done, is stuff like this being taught in Relgious Education, not science.

Why dont they teach about the real god, the holy golden cow? It's obvious that he made the world not the mention... still controls it!
so you're a Catholic that doesn't believe in creationism?
I've yet to meet a single Catholic that does believe in Creationism.
Even my grandma didn't, and she was strongly religious.
I guess Hungary is a smart country. :v:
i guess because everyone there is Hungary for the facts :xd:
:golfclap:
It's almost like Australia is the UK's American South.

Oh my fuck..
How can you be catholic and not believe in creationism? Do they believe in God?
This is something people don't seem to bloody understand. Creationism is the FIRST BLOODY PART OF THE BIBLE. No creationism= no Adam and Eve. No Adam and Eve= No original sin, No original sin=No birth of Jesus. If you do not believe in Creation, you are not Catholic. You can follow Catholic principles if you like, but please DON'T CALL YOURSELF A CATHOLIC. This is the reason why censuses show so many people as Catholics; because they don't even know what they are.
woah
now i know that raptors have an attack roll of 4d6, so noah must have had at least a greater spell of protect or higher on him at all times
maybe he just found a plus +5 ring of shielding in a burning bush or something
regardless, that's pretty impressive for a low level priest mang i tell you what

I'm telling this the second fucking time.
Only morons take the Bible as a history book. Most Christians are not morons. It's just morons always manage to get media attention and they run rampant in the USA.
The Old Testatement is not a fucking history book, it's about morals, and silly laws that are pretty much void since the New Testatement. Only close-minded people cannot interpret the story of creation as a more philosophic, allegorical story about mankind's purpose in the world, and how knowledge (the fruit of knowledge), while being a bless, is also a curse, as the more knowledge we gain, the more we realize how much more we need to learn, and how mankind gathers knowledge in a pursuit of happiness, but knowledge on its own cannot bring us happiness, and it's also dangerous and yadda yadda.
Those who are too stupid to see the philosophical contents, and treat it as it is, an ALLEGORY, but rather take it word-to-word as history, are called creationists. And they are stupid.
What's not to get?

I guess fundies are the only descendants of Adam and Eve, seeing as they're all inbred retards themselves.

If Catholicism interprets the last part of the Bible, Revelations, which describes "the end of the universe" or whatever is supposed to be taken non-literally, then why shouldn't the chapter Genesis be interpreted non-literally?

wow i cant believe she actually said that
it is seriously ridiculous

You are as big of a moron as creationists, cause they say the same, just they say it for a different purpose.
The original sin, Adam and Eve and all that,
IS
A
FUCKING
PHILOSOPHICAL
ALLEGORY.
No catholic on these parts doubts that it didn't happen word-to-word like that (Even priests), yet they are still Catholics, because they believe in God and Jesus.
Religious faith is not about grasping onto stupid details like moronic asshats from America do. It's about accepting the general message of morals and loving every human being to an extent, and believing that a god of sorts exists, and Jesus was his son/messenger/all that. This conflicts with accepting science and what we know of the creation of the Universe NOWHERE. Every religious person here would agree with me on this.
And it's not you who tells me if I'm a catholic or not.

Because if Genesis is taken "non literally", then the rest of the bible becomes a huge fucking metaphor as well. It's the foundation in which everything is based upon. Catholics would know this if you know, they ACTUALLY READ THE BIBLE.
I have yet to meet a SINGLE catholic under the age of 60 that has read the first chapter of the bible.

[editline]12:27AM[/editline]
Exactly
you fucking idiots, not understanding that the bible is a book of morals.
Morals like, "slavery is okay if you do it THIS way" and "if you call someone bald YOU SHOULD FUCKING DIE HORRIBLY".
I won't carry on arguing with you, because you interpret everything as "RELIGION IS BAD", because that's what you believe, however you have no actual knowledge to fund this. I cannot change your views, and vice versa, thus this argument is pointless.

well no you see it was metaphorical
christ died for our sins metaphorically
in reality Rome just told him to piss off so he went to florida and built a condo. Wait, no, that's mormonism. Anyway, it was a metaphor, I assure you.
Sorry if I sound angry about this guys, but I shit you not, FOUR Catholic missionaries knocked on my doorbell today and a Mormon an hour ago. This shit HAS to be a new record.
