lol in the same state a black woman got put away for 20 years for firing warning shots against her abusive husband http://www.examiner.com/article/fla-mom-gets-20-years-jail-for-firing-warning-shots-against-abusive-husband
The kids were endangered by her discharging the firearm, and since that in itself is a crime, due to the 10-20-life law she had minimum sentencing of 20 years for discharging a firearm in commission of a crime, simple, stupid, but still clear cut.
Also she ignored a 3 year sentence plea deal.
The fatal shooting of Trayvon Martin by George Zimmerman took place on the night of February 26, 2012, in Sanford, Florida, United States. Martin was a 17-year-old African American high school student. George Zimmerman, a 28-year-old multi-racial Hispanic American,[Note 1] was the neighborhood watch coordinator for the gated community where Martin was temporarily staying and where the shooting took place.[3][4][5] Zimmerman was tried for second-degree murder and manslaughter[6] and found not guilty on Saturday, July 13, 2013.[7]

lol the only person who seems really racist is you SigmaLambda, for so honestly believing thug is a racially charged word.
Even if he is wrong, why would it make him racist? (He isn't and it wouldn't)
Even if he is wrong, why would it make him racist? (He isn't and it wouldn't)
He seems to imply that it is impossible for blacks to be thugs, which in itself is racism albeit inversed. Positive racism is still racism. At least if I'm understanding him correctly.
This makes me so fucking happy.
The NAACP should go fuck themselves and disband already.
The second the verdict came out, one of my friends posted "SO I GUESS IT'S OKAY NOW TO KILL UNARMED BLACK KIDS" on her facebook.
Then, when I posted on tumblr the legal justification for why manslaughter could not have been proven guilty, she unadded me from everything.
Why is it that the side for "guilty" is relying so much on their gut? It's obvious that this is a racially charged case, but, for fuck's sake, the court has some pretty objective proof about what happened. It should be common knowledge by now that Zimmerman didn't run out with a gun in hand in order to shoot the kid.
Zimmerman should have atleast got some community service or some shit and not the whole riots going on.
Zimmerman should have atleast got some community service or some shit and not the whole riots going on.
Why should he? He's innocent, he shouldn't be punished just because idiots refuse to accept that he's innocent.
damn, how can people be so dumb on twitter? It's like they didn't even know what the case was about, to emotional from the media.
So, I've been reading some pages and for me it's way too easy to play the racism card. I've been looking for something, an argument, that proves his innocence. Long story short, what made Zimmerman a free man today?
Just after reading the wiki few days before, since I wanted to check out what this fuss is all about, was pretty obvious that was self defense, or whatever really.
From the 911 calls I found out that Americans are pussies. "OMG SOMEONE IS YELLING HELP HELP HELP IN MY BACKYARD" I better call the police and hide under the table.
It's their fault that guy got shot really. If someone just got out to help, maybe it wouldn't have come to shooting.

If he got charged with any crime he would have gotten a life sentence, you do know this right?

There was nothing to say that he was not acting in self defense when the fight had broke out, thus due to presumption of innocence and burden of proof upon the prosecution needing to prove he intended to kill Trayvon or had malicious intent, he was shown to not have committed any of the crimes he was being charged with, so far as anything solid shows.
Lack of evidence to prove his guilt. You can't charge a person as guilty if there is no evidence to support it.
As someone said, he's not innocent - he's just not guilty.
I read the protocol of his 911 call long ago, and from that all I kept in mind was that Zimmerman continued to pursue Trayvon even though the authorities told him not to.

This is a gated community, so much as an unfamiliar car is enough to make these rich people uncomfortable. Honestly if someone I didn't know was in my backyard screaming for help I would call 911 too, you're an idiot.

As state before, following someone isn't a crime. Not listening to a 911 operator is not a crime.

To charge him as guilty due to this, would be presumption of guilt or commission of a crime, that is not how our legal system works.

There's a reason why the only verdicts are Guilty or Not Guilty instead of Guilty or Innocent

The best part is that its almost impossible to tell between satirical joke posts and real posts.
As the defense explained in court, a dispatcher can only "request" you to do certain things. In 911 protocol, this also works the same way for police officers - dispatchers report about crimes in code, and any available patrols are free to take up the case depending on its seriousness.
You don't have to listen to a 911 dispatcher. But you can tell a lot about motive based on the call. If Zimmerman said, "I'm going to show this kid my gun so he runs off" or something stupid, then the prosecution would have had a gold mine for his conviction. There was no information from the 911 call that suggested that, however.

The conspiracy theory one is kind of funny, but that is one of the only times I have seen facade spelled with that c when not in a "proper" setting.

I'm sorry, but I am now more confused than ever in what you were attempting to achieve from posting that then.

Well I was asking if there was any evidence that cleary proved Zimmerman's innocence that may have turned up and of which I didn't know of. From my personal perspective back then it looked like there was more to it in general so I was expecting that. But apparently there wasn't, and there also wasn't (enough?) evidence that proves his guilt, so now he's a free man.
That's all. :P
Don't forget the girlfriends account of Trayvons last moments over the phone.

I'm loving how they are comparing this verdict to every other court order.

Did you ever try being emphatic and try to imagine yourself in that situation, yelling for help?
