A better photo of his (presumed) cadaver.

I wonder if he's dead in this photo, and if he's not, what he's thinking...

They don't want justice, they want him gone so Libya can finally carry on.
He looked a lot more respectable before his face went all weird and melty.

Apparently he got a lot of plastic surgery done in the last ten years that made him look pretty weird.

Granted that first picture is from 1971, the second from 1986 is a better gauge. Honestly I don't know why he got plastic surgery to begin with. Then again Berlusconi has definitely seen the sharp end of scalpel to his face on more than one occasion.
He didn't deserve to be flat out executed, he deserved a trial.
Was he really executed? I thought he was shot in the legs and died while in captivity at a hospital
Reuters has just published the apparent story of his capture
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/middle-east-live/2011/oct/20/gaddafi-killed-sirte-falls-live
Shortly before dawn prayers on Thursday, Gaddafi surrounded by a few dozen loyal bodyguards and accompanied by the head of his now non-existent army Abu Bakr Younis Jabr broke out of the two-month siege of Sirte and made a break for the west.
But they did not get far.
Natio said its aircraft struck military vehicles belonging to pro-Gaddafi forces near Sirte at about 8.30am on Thursday, but the alliance said it was unsure whether the strikes had killed Gaddafi.
Fifteen pick-up trucks mounted with heavy machine guns lay burnt out, smashed and smouldering next to an electricity sub station some 20 metres from the main road, about two miles west of Sirte.
They had clearly been hit by a force far beyond anything the motley army the former rebels have assembled during eight months of revolt to overthrow the once feared leader.
But there was no bomb crater, indicating the strike may have been carried out by a helicopter gunship, or had been strafed by a fighter jet.
Inside the trucks still in their seats sat the charred skeletal remains of drivers and passengers killed instantly by the strike. Other bodies lay mutilated and contorted strewn in the grass. Some 50 bodies in all.
Gaddafi himself and a handful of his men escaped death and appeared to have ran through a stand of trees towards the main road and hid in the two drainage pipes.
But a group of government fighters were on their tail.
"At first we fired at them with anti-aircraft guns, but it was no use," said Salem Bakeer, while being feted by his comrades near the road. "Then we went in on foot. One of Gaddafi's men came out waving his rifle in the air and shouting surrender, but as soon as he saw my face he started shooting at me," he told Reuters.
"Then I think Gaddafi must have told them to stop. 'My master is here, my master is here', he said, 'Muammar Gaddafi is here and he is wounded'," said Bakeer.
"We went in and brought Gaddafi out. He was saying 'what's wrong? What's wrong? What's going on?'. Then we took him and put him in the car," Bakeer said. At the time of capture, Gaddafi was already wounded with gunshots to his leg and to his back, Bakeer said.
Other government fighters who said they took part in Gaddafi's capture, separately confirmed Bakeer's version of events, though one said the man who ruled Libya for 42 years was shot and wounded at the last minute by one of his own men. "One of Muammar Gaddafi's guards shot him in the chest," said Omran Jouma Shawan. Army chief Jabr was also captured alive, Bakeer said.
sounds like he may have been finished off by his own people then
it would have been nice to see gaddafi go to the hague, but i can't blame them for killing him.

They were going to try him in Libya, not send him to the Hague

he was intimidating as fuck when he was younger
now his appearance is / was laughable
Gaddafi's face is kind of like cheese in the sun; as it sits out for longer it starts to get grosser and melt.

i still think they should have. rather it's handled properly than a show-trial.
Now I am just looking forward to the next country who gets rid of their disgusting dictatorship.
Hope it's Italy next.
Theres a video floating around of the libyans capturing him.
Here's your proof that he was executed on the spot.

Really disgusting actually, shows they're equally as savage and brutal as he was.

Oh just shut the fuck up, these people had seen their friends and family brutally murdered and executed by this man, I don't blame them, even if it wasn't as desirable has having him face a trial.

There are conflicting reports, even that one above that says it may have been one of his own, so don't go jumping to conclusions.

Ok I understand the anger and resentment and I'm saying they could have seen him tried, held accountable for his crimes, and then had him punished accordingly. Everyone deserves a trial.
Instead of showing that they were better than him they decided to show the world that they can engage in savage and brutal mob violence.
It's strange looking at pictures of Gadaffi with other world leaders from just a few years ago, including Obama, and seeing the pictures of him dead and Obama's speech about the fall of his regime.
I don't know how to explain it. It just seems surreal.

Why is he so bloody in that photo? Did they fill his upper body with lead? I thought they only shot him once.

So I suppose the fact that a man stabbing a pedophile in the streets of LA for molesting and then strangling his daughter means that every American is a brutal thug? (To use an equivalent example, not a factual story)
Get off your high horse, you aren't getting enough oxygen up there
Gaddafi deserved a lot more than being executed, that's for sure.
