I don't know why I find this so unsettling.
because it looks like he hasn't bathed
ever
Because in countries with conscription you'll see a lot of guys and girls walking around like that.
If any of you guys have seen Bowling for Columbine the shit that goes on in the US is hilarious. The bank he goes to gives away free rifles when you open an account with them.
Bowling for Columbine was horrendously bias, as is Michael Moore in general.
You shouldn't wear things that obscure your face into businesses because they could think you are robbing them.
In many places it's not against the law, though, so it still doesn't justify employees attacking customers. (Not that it being against the law would justify violent employees either, but...)

suggesting that there's something very fishy going on in there (most likely criminal activity)
I don't understand this. What was the fuss about? What was their motive?
I'm jumping to extreme conclusions here, bordering conspiracy nutjob territory, but what if the McDonald's employees were worried that his eyeglasses would capture something illegal that they were doing? The article said McDonald's employees in France also assaulted someone for taking a picture of a food menu.
Isn't obvious after we get past civil rights issues for LGBT people these racist conservatives across the world will go after Robots/Cyborgs/Androids/Clones next.
What the flying fuck.
Why the hell would people be such dicks.
What the flying fuck
Last time I walked down to McDonalds I impersonated Adam Jenson.
Oh god, I'm scared now.
Also, note to self, never wear my trenchcoat to McDonalds.
Soooo, what does things in that eye look like to him? Does he actually see them like an eye, or does he have a screen showing pictures (didnt it say it has 120fps) at all times thats fast enough to act like a camera? What is it like to him?

Basically, another eye. Except robotic
I hope the police do use his footage. I never knew cyborg discrimination was even a thing outside of Deus Ex.
But going to Paris to end up eating at McDonalds? Come on...
Illuminati nuff said

The police fucking ignored him.
This is why if I ever make augmentations to myself like this, the first thing I'm putting in is something to defend myself, humans hate change so you have to defend yourself against them.
What the Fuck? There is something really fishy gong on.
I hope he doesn't go to America, I imagine the TSA will rip the glasses off his skull for thinking that it's a bomb or something.

Wow he looks like somthing out of warhammer 40k, With all the overly exposed cybernetics. i wonder why ive never heard of this guy untill now, i think its really cool that he actully built himself a cybernetic eye, seems like somthing the quirky, crack-pot scientist would do in a comicbook , or a movie.

Reminds me more of a borg.

I was referring to the horse masks, what the guy in the OP wears looks fine for everyday use.
Saw this on Hacker News the other day. We came to the conclusion that it was a PR campaign. His doctor prescribes him glasses that were created by himself? piffft.
His photographs show the attackers wearing McDonalds uniforms.
Self-surveillance really is the future.
Is he actually a cyborg per sae?
His glasses are physically attached to his skull. A cyborg is any person with a machine built into them to operate along side other organic functions.
Yes, yes he is. Technically people with pacers and whatnot are also cyborgs.

So technically he isn't the "world's first cyborg" after all?
So technically he isn't the "world's first cyborg" after all?
let's go with "the world's first clearly visible cyborg that doesn't have a giant piece of metal jutting out of his chest cavity".
he's one of the most iPod-ish cyborgs around, basically.

He's had this in some form for like 37 years, I'd say he's the first cyborg.
If only Inspector Gadget were real. He would investigate the shit out of this case.

The doctor didn't prescribe them numbnuts, remember, someone had to do the medical procedure to embed it into his fuckin' head, and give the go for it since they're drilling into his skull.
i really hope we get more info on this because something just doesnt seem right
gonna go play human revolution now :v:
no police report
no word from mcdonalds
no legitimate source
despite complete coverage there are enough holes in his story to make the most gullible person on earth doubt it
second time he supposedly got assaulted over the glasses with no documentation other than a few blogs (first time was in 2002 by the TSA)
not buying it
[editline]17th July 2012[/editline]
I think he just pissed his pants and wants mcdonalds to help pay for new equipment
God damn Harvesters.
