I guess it's good someone is concerned about it. Not sure if being more concerned than they are about climate change is a good thing, though...
Well, to be honest, an [near] extinction of bees will have more immediate and tangible consequences than climate change. So it's easy to reason why more are concerned about it.

I'm concerned why all of those species on that list, except for the bees and otters, are ecologically expendable.
Can confirm, am British, love bees.
Wasps on the other hand...
wasps are just as important as not only do they pollinate and SOME do create honey aswell as keeping the insect populace in check.
A bee killed my dog and tried to choke me with a pillow while I was sleeping.
Go to hell you bee apologists.
Wake up idiots Britain is being telepathically assimilated into the omnihive. Think about it we have a Queen and the bees also have a Queen Coincidence? No we are becoming more like bees with every year we even have flowers.
This is understandable as bees are essential for the environment.

wind turbine killing birds
are you fucking serious
also bees are awesome
Bees are vital to growth in nature in so many ways. Them disappearing is one of the most important things to worry about.
its a pretty real threat, it kills a shitton of bats every year because their echolocation goes fucking nuts
I saw it on gta5 as an ingame commercial and thought they were kidding
that's barely anything compared to car pollution and bees dying though
Misread title "brits fucking love beer"
Who honestly doesn't just love bees? They are probably the most beautiful insects on nature, and the fact that they do so much to help plants and the overall envoirement makes them even more awesome, look at these fuckers and tell me they aren't adorable:

They are also in most cases completely harmless, they only engage in defence if they genuinely believe they are in a life threatening situation to their hive, so much that they die shortly after stinging an enemy, just to protect their colony
Honey is also absolutely delicious, there isn't anything that comes from nature that is as sweet as a honey pot, and bees are the only animals in nature that can produce such a sweet thing naturally
They look so fluffy!
Also, @J!NZ, it happens. Wind turbines have actually been implicated in a lot of migratory bird deaths, because birds are stupid and can't get out of the way. It's pretty much the same reason everything else kills birds, but wind turbines also move.
Why aren't more amphibians listed on those charts? Yes, stuff like your average tree frog isn't critically endangered, but the populations of more than a few amphibian species have plummeted over the past 20-30 years.
I suppose they don't "directly" influence us on the daily? You know how if there are no bees then our supermarkets will be more or less empty, but if there are no tree frogs...well, people don't think anything's gonna happen.
I don't know, just guessing
We have a huge hive on the roof of my parents apartment building. The building is largely occupied by Jains, who believe that harming any animals is flat out wrong so they all took the unanimous decision to not remove the Hive and let it be there. So now, if any guy from the cable or internet company comes, we give them that fancy beekeepers hat and overalls and send them upstairs. The expression on their faces when we have to explain this to them is priceless :v:
That plus it's a fun way to show kids who've never seen one before what a bee hive and bees look like.
Seriously though, bees are awesome - particularly bumblebees. Those fat buggers always make me smile.

Without frogs, there would be no Budweiser. Actually.....that doesn't sound half bad. :v:
[sp]DEATH TO FROGS!(Not Frenchmen, just the actual frogs![/sp]
I don't understand why they value bees so much. Honey goes TERRIBLE on fish and chips.
I feel like I'd like bees a lot more if they didn't always decide to run right into my ear and buzz like a chainsaw.
I stepped on a bee the other day and it stung me.
I was upset.
I don't want the bees thinking I don't like them. Best bugs of all time.
I LOVE YOU TOO BRITAIN!
male carpenter bees don't sting because they don't have a stinger
in addition to this poll it was found that 85% of british citizens have an average size of 12mm
Well, I like honey.
But it wouldn't be the first time British bees died off, our current bees are not even native.
Fucking immigrant bees stealing the native bee's jobs.
wind turbine killing birds

They do because a lot of birds, specially birds of prey like vultures, hold their heads down to look to the ground, so they're unable to see what's immediately in front of them.
In nature, nothing's on the air to stop them from flying, so they don't need to look in front of them and can pay full attention to what's on the ground.
However, in the places where you have wind turbines, if there's nothing to call the bird's attention, they go on flying unknowingly of what's ahead and BAM!
It's like if you were running on a treadmill and paying attention to your heart rate measures, since you know nothing's going to bother you when you're running, and suddendly someone puts a cardboard in the middle and you fall.
more wasps die from losing their stingers than bees just saying
Wasps don't lose their stingers after stinging, it only happens to bees and only because a mammal's skin is so thick their stingers get lodged in it, they're fine when stinging other insects.

little adorable communists
What's not to love about bumble bees, they're adorable
no they're terrifying
they'll guard your mailbox as if its their property and then you can't tell if one is gonna sting you or not when one starts flipping out all over the place as you attempt to retrieve your mail
I don't fucking like it when they buzz around near me, it makes me panic like shit
Pollinate all the flowers you want mate but I swear to god if you come near me I will huddle near a friend until you leave
I recently saved two bees from spider webs, one of the decided to thank me by flying into my face.

I always stop my mower so they can get out of the way.
I'm starting to think they may be exerting pheromonal control over us.
